We have no taste on strategy games but when we tried this game its really good, so far this is our first favorite jrpg game to play the stories are good and the graphics are relaxing.

Great game, a refreshing break from all the AFK games.
This game is very easy to learn and fun. But layers upon layers of subtlety built in. All in all probably the best imagining of a jrpg on mobile.

This game is a f2p Strategy RPG through and through. At some points there is a bit of a curve, but the game gives you every tool to win. And when you do, it feels like a genuine accomplishment. If you like to point and click and win, this game is not for you. (I know exactly which level the main bad review is discussing, which requires you to perform the most basic strategizing.) This game is INCREDIBLY F2P friendly. Currently we’ve spent $1 a month on the rewind 3 mistakes per match gift. Im max leveled, with every great character, beat all content, and am in the top 100 on our server. If you WANT to spend money you can. But the game gives you everything you need to succeed. If you like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics this game is a MUST play.
This is an amazing game, however the rankings (R, SR, and SSR) could be reviewed. There are some Rs and SRs who are better than SSR.
When you guys told us that we should update game, we tried everything as you guys said. ESPECIALLY YOU GUYS SAID THAT IF we CANNOT UPDATE IN APP STORE, we need to uninstall and reinstall whole game and thats what you said. BUT MY 2 of Ssr characters and 40 to 41 level characters are all gone because of reinstall. You guys should compensate or redo for that thing. We WANT MY IDS BACK!!! Im a huge fan of langrisser so we were so pleased this game was came out of world but we feel really bad!!! This is insane that if you guys just blame that apples app store. This is getting us mad.
Just a well thought through easy game play for casual or power gamer game. Great balance and leveling. Some parts are challenging like levels 38-48 but it makes you use tactics. Play it Dailey with two accounts and still enjoy it as much as day one.

Warsong was a favourite , this is a much improved version. The voice in Japanese with eng subs really feels like anime .
The good: A game most mobile games should be. Good story that you dont need to know the original content to get, because we had never heard of Langrisser before we saw ads on FB. This game, its story and so on… Feels like a labor of love, like Sonic Mania where Sega let another dev give it a go and they hit a grand slam. The devs seem really into telling you a story and keeping the game pretty much free. We really appreciate the sentiment. The auto mode almost always does a fantastic job and sets you up to win. The bad: The level 25 wall. It hits like an NFL linebacker and when it does, your progress will halt until you grind a bunch. They tried a watered down Scissors/Paper/Rock thing (that you forget about even with it sitting in your upper right corner) for their battle system. At times you will coast in a battle with your chosen characters until you meet a rock that beats your scissors after 10 missions facing paper. The devs hand out upgrades to the mains and Jessica fast, but its tough to find them for others… The ugly: the lack of communication with others in the game. There is none. Its odd to say the least. Easy 5*. It deserves it but it can still get better…
Reasons this game is great.. Gameplay- we have been playing every day since launch. The game is addicting and there is so much to do which keeps you coming back. Draws on familiar mechanics of other turn based genre games making them fresh, and offers unique features. Graphics and arts style (and voice acting) are all amazing Customer Service- The developers actually genuinely try their best to help out and care about the people playing the game. We lost our data with the new patch, and they helped us find it! Not only that, but they listen to the concerns and opinions of their consumers. If you have questions or concerns, they will listen. Not P2W- Over the past 5 or so years, games are becoming more and more money hungry, and one huge test for us in terms of games is how big the pay to win factor is. There are things you can buy in this game, but they only aid you in your quest, and cannot guarantee you will be successful at the game. You still have to grind the levels, use strategy in battles, etc. We have spent some money on the game, but only because we feel it has been worth it, which is saying something because we very rarely spend real money on games.
Support team finally helped us log back into our account, but we lost out on a little over two weeks worth of login stuff (54 burgers and other stuff) and we missed out on the two new characters randius and Rachel but at least we can continue where we left off, again we recommend binding your game with Twitter. Great game as long as you dont lose your account credentials.
Played until level 47 but the newest update deleted our account some how. Now we would have to start all over. Not putting money into it again if Im starting from the bottom again.
Since latest update it says we now need to connect to social media to play the character we had. We dont use social media and shouldnt be penalized for it. There is 0 customer support.
The fact that you can spend 20 dollars and STILL not have enough crystals just to do a regular 10x summon should tell you all you need to know.
SSR rate is not good enough because this game is a kompu gacha where you need specific SSR combo for them to function optimally, and for a 2% SSR rate and always 2 to 3 SSR per banner for rate up, the rate is still very low and will affect your experience in this game. A Gameplay wise it’s fun , until you reach lvl 60 and then it just becomes a part time job and easily take over 2 hours to play every single day until you burn out. Everything is RNG based late game to get mats and gears to upgrade your heroes and the process takes literal months to complete. Players are literally quitting everyday because how grindy it is. Just check out the Langrisser subreddit. Overall… Meh. Could have been a better experience if the isn’t so RNG dependent. Also game is p2w as hell if you want to PvP. It’s hard to get into details but the devs put 95% effort into PvP and making powercreep heroes for PvP while PvE is mostly abandoned and gets very little update, and you tend to do the same contents for 95% of your PvE time while it gets extremely slowly updated. Devs also never listens anymore and just watch people quit one by one for burnt out and repetitiveness of PvE grind. So… Unless you want to play a p2w PvP game, then sure.
You have the cash to burn play, if not then dont bother.
We love this game.. Omg, and we appreciate that the devs noticed that the may 16 update is taking long due to apple, at first we were mad and had to reinstall because we thought this was a fault of our own or the devs but as we decided to read the notice that was posted we genuinely appreciate this game and the customer service they provide, our last and only complaint is that this game is so much grind unless you pay to win, although this doesn’t kill the game so we just deal with it. Girl characters talk submissively while hardly wearing anything, a typical Japanese insensitivities to women.
After the update it wouldnt work so we followed the instructions to uninstall the game and reinstall we did then our account was missing through our Facebook link so we contacted through Facebook and apparently our account was linked to another Facebook account on our phone which isnt possible because we are the only person who uses our phone and only have one Facebook account.
There is no update button in app store. What a problem …
They couldnt have done a better job of transitioning and combining the old with the new. Im so happy we could replay the story mode like a kid. And the ability to collect your own team is a plus. We dont write reviews but this game deserves our time. Great job. We can now delete every other game we have. Edit: cant update the game.
Many reviews state that the game gets difficult at certain levels. 25/35/45. While we agree they get difficult but all you need to do is increase things thatimpro d your characters. Pure levels won’t cut it. Usually people do not pay attention with upgrading gear and quickly become overpowered. Or they ignore bonds or training. If you feel you cannot best a level of mobs equal to tour level, that means you messed up somewhere by not upgrading something. We are level 59 and am one of those who did not upgrade gear enough initially. One of the best mobile games around, but do not ignore an area. Gear should be about 5 levels within the attempted level. So if doing level 25 missions, you should have all level 20 gear. Doing level 50,, you should have at least level 40 gear.
There are only two new units per month, which they are not powercreep old release units. As Gacha perspective, banner seperate to two types: Focus and Non-Focus. Focus banner guaranteed one new unit you never acquired, while the rate is quite good for gacha game that has very few units. And Non-Focus banner is likely for new units; which are unnecessary to pull for and will be added later on Focus Banner Every units has their own usefulness; some R and SR units shine better in some content than SSR units. There is no change of Meta like other Gacha game.

The game is easily one of our favorites in a long time. Im level 39 and play for free (so far). We can tell you progress hasnt been an issue at all. Regarding the first review saying at level 25 they couldnt beat an enemy leveled 25 until they are level 40..? That person must not be very good. We constantly beat levels above us. Some fights are MEANT to be very challenging though for great rewards. MAIN point however.. There are MANY ways to increase your characters strength and abilities. Leveling them up to the recommended level (the game tells you before a fight what level you should be to have a good chance at winning) is not enough. Its simply that a recommendation. The game has no idea comparatively what else you have done to increase your characters power. Level is a very minimum benchmark of what your power can be but you have to very much do EVERYTHING else to increase your power beyond that to compete. Leveling alone will never be enough. Its expected that you progress in all aspects of what can increase your characters power while you level which you have to work for. Id say the developers have done a great job at anticipating what you can achieve in the time you get to a particular level to be able to challenge the harder fights. We havent yet had to spend time just leveling/increasing our power without game progression. Im constantly progressing. But Im sure just like any other RPG there will be times we need to spend developing our characters before moving forward. This game is absolutely a 5 star game for its type.
Originally we started playing this game on one server and managed to get myself up to lvl 48 before realizing we may have made a mistake in our team building so we restarted on a different server and now am lvl 60 (max lvl.) our entire experience has felt like we have been playing a game, not simply doing dailies and then waiting for the next day to come. There is quite a bit of content be it the main world story or going through the history of Langrisser. We really enjoy the way that grinding has been implemented (in most cases once you have actually played a level you can auto farm it, though there are incentives to not simply put things on auto such as hidden treasures or challenges for additional rewards.) If you pay attention to the dialogue when characters are talking there are a bunch of references to other games such as Skyrim, as well as hidden gems such as bond improving items that are clearly meant for humors sake (some of the units like manga for example.) Additionally we have not spent a single cent on this game and have not felt the need to have to spend money to progress. All praise aside there ARE problems, the PVP system needs work, but we like that you get to choose between three opponents in the non-ranked portion. There needs to be some kind of system that prevents a lvl 20 having any choice of fighting a lvl 60 unless they somehow have around the same power level. At higher levels if you dont have Leon and Liana you are very likely to lose even if your teams power level is around the same (Leon is extremely strong and Liana can allow him to attack twice in one turn, there is a reason the community has coined the term Leongrisser.) There are also more annoying things such as first turn Bozel black hole (silence is a death sentence in pvp, you dont get to wait it out.) which wouldnt be the worst thing in the world if it werent for the rarity of silence preventing items. The gacha system isnt bad, if you wait for event pulls (which are basically always happening,) you are rather likely to pull at least one new unit (some even guarantee that if you get an SSR pull that the first one from the event will be one you dont have.) Unit improvement needs a tiny bit of work, though in our opinion the work it needs is not a change but instead awareness. If we hadnt been told by another player we wouldnt know that there is indeed a shard trade system. The reason for this is that you have to 6* a unit for it to become unlocked and there doesnt seem to be any reference at all to this as far as we have seen. In any case this means that no matter what you pull from the gacha it is actually useful, just maybe not immediately so. There also needs a little bit of reworking of lower tier units. While we understand that SR and SSR should be more powerful than R, R units should not be useless 90% of the time, though this is a problem for most Gacha games. Minor problems we have come across have been translation errors (sometimes the English versions are not exactly sensible.) and the pvp matching. Overall, as someone that avoids mobile games for the most part, this game doesnt really have the traditional mobile cash cow feel in our opinion.

This is a game when we used to play when we were a child and cant believe it came back on iOS!!! Been playing it for more than 3 months on the phone and its still surprisingly good~ highly recommend to download and be part of your apps!
We love this game its amazing and fun and challeging!! We have been playing this game since it came out and we dont think im gonna stop playing anytime soon!!! But the last update wont let our phone do the update and wont let us play!! If you guys can fix that for us we will keep playing and supporting this game thank you!!
The games really pretty fun and is really a 3+ star game but we cant play it now bc it wont update. It just keeps sending us to the game download screen in the App Store ?
Ever since the update for the major update of May 16 the game has been difficult to log in and its glitched for most players. They really need to fix that glitch as soon as they can.
In short, This game is amazing and genuinely not Pay2W and the staff actually reads their reviews in order to answer question/ improve the game.
-There is not rly a good rerolling process other than switching servers -Despite this ^ we dont see a point in rerolling -U r guaranteed one of the best SSRs (Cherie) in the game for doing event quests (Path of Light), at least as of this review -U get enough summoning currency to summon about 10 times weekly (unless u spend ur crystals in that case 15+ times) -Destiny Summons (a type of banner that focuses rate ups on certain units) are super F2P friendly, u can literally just horde all ur summoning currency (trinity vouchers) for the sole purpose of Destiny summons cuz they guarantee u one of the SSRs that u dont have on the banner (when u summon an SSR) -The game is fun! -Lots of interaction with community because of so many multiplayer opportunities in the game -Real time PvP (not for everyone, but we rly like this) -Real time friend battles -Real time CO-OP -Guild wars -U can get invested in the story and fall in love with the characters -The game makes u want to check out the Langrisser games before this one -Did we mention this game is FUN! -Lastly, its fun… PS This is probably the game we’ve been craving for a while now especially since we have been watching 3-Gatsu no Lion. Also, if u havent noticed yet, u just got played. This aint no quick review, this is a why u still reading this just play the game!
We played Warsong on Sega Genesis as a kid in the US, and this is the closest we’ve gotten to playing the rest of the series which was never released here. If you like turn-based strategy/tactics-style games youll love this one. The first 20-30 levels are a lot of fun and you get great progression. Its a very F2P friendly game. You need to know that progression slows more and more the closer you get to 60, though. The game is still a carrot-on-a-stick grind with plenty of dailies. If you like that style of Im working on our paladin this month then youll still like it. Beefy stats become no substitution for actual strategy in later levels. Youll have to combine team comps, ability synergy, terrain bonuses, and creativity to tackle the games hardest battles. If we could change anything about the game at this point (end-game) it would just be the daily time commitment. You can easily spend 4-5 hours a day or more playing this game even as F2P. The devs should add max-reward sims to the dailies because they detract from time which should be spent in guild battles, arena, and attempts at Trials and Story 3-stars. Also, they for some reason really advertise based on anime-style sexiness when they actually have a fantastic SRPG on their hands. If you can ignore the ridiculous advertisements, this is a deep and complicated strategy/roster management game. Great job guys, and please give us some more ways to save time each day. It almost forces you to be casual or lose your social life.
The game is fun and relatively well balanced. It is a freemium game, in the sense that you can grind everything and everyone out. You dont have to spend a dollar, but it does speed things up. If you want to earn everything you have the option to do so. Its a great strategy game with fun pvp.

Since we read a scathing review of someone that claims this game is only P2W, we felt we needed to counter. We’ve played the game as F2P since it was released and have advanced to the end game – most of our characters are at level 60 and have mastered end classes. We have 80% of the SSR tier characters and a lot of tickets and gems on hand for summons. You wont be able to max everything in the game in a month. Like any mobile game, daily play and playing for several months will be required for the level of advancement if you want to not spend money on the game. It by no means is impossible and we feel like they do plenty of in game events and give out bonuses to help in advancement. This is definitely one of the better mobile games in balancing your ability to succeed as a free player.
