Methodical journey through modern bidding conventions. Im working on un-learning very dated conventions, so we can join a club and start to play competitively. Before these lessons, we were completely flummoxed by the convention card – now Im more confident. We found the explanations/reasoning very helpful, and Ive worked through the lessons multiple times. The only thing we thought could be clearer was the section on reverses.
This is called Learn Bridge. The first section is Introduction, but it begins with well assume the auction has concluded and youll be presented with the final contract. We dont even know what these words mean in card play. This isnt a true introduction to the game if you assume this level of knowledge. Will have to seek out a more basic and well-explained intro.
After being a bystander to our mom playing bridge with her bridge group for over 50 years, our two sisters and we are are secretly learning to play Bridge and are going to surprise our mom with a Mom and Daughters Lunch and Bridge afternoon for Mothers Day. This app is not only making this possible, but fun to boot! We bought it would be impossibly hard, and without this app we imagine it would have been. The creator of this app is incredible at explaining and walking you through the steps. He/she is deliberate in the order each component is taught based on what is obviously sage experience.
Ive tried several apps and the ACBL Learn To Play Bridge Series Books for learning to play bridge and seriously applied study time to each of them for the past 6 months and can confidently say this one is the best by far. We just wish you could also play for practice. The conventions they teach seem to be the most tailored to what the ACBL recommends newbies learn here in the US. Our mother who is an Emerald Life Master has backed up and approved the things Im learning. As a high school teacher, we can say its methodology is top notch. Its very clear and each lesson builds on the previous ones. We love that it presents a lesson and then gives you a mini quiz over the material. Since we are older, we repeat each lesson 4-5 times and find our comprehension and knowledge improves each time. It chunks new learning in appropriate sized morsels and doesnt move too fast. We highly recommend it for all academic levels.
Ive loved this app from the first moment we have opened it. And its not disappointed us since. Its super clear, easy to use and the interactive features make it a stand out. We only wish we could bookmark pages and navigate back and forth a bit more easily by sliding the bottom slider as we do with an iBook. We highly recommend.
Great App. Review on LB after mistakes at bridge game very helpful for us. Repeating chapters is very helpful. Works much better if both partners use this app to avoid bidding and other mistakes.
Love the new 2/1 mode, but the 2/1 treatment needs a little more clarity.
Excellent teaching guide, tool, for a rank beginner like us. Strategies are explained clearly and you can always go back review and further understand the play. Slowly but surely we are having the confidence to join a real bridge game as opposed to online or robots.
This app makes it very easy to learn bridge, or relearn / improve your game. The many interactive exercises and quizzes really get you to learn the concepts, rules, and conventions of bridge. Much better learning tool than just reading a book.
Extremely pleased with this appits the best introduction to bridge bidding that Ive found yet, in book or app form. It will get you up to speed fast, and it covers a range of topics in a very sensible order. Our only complaint is that the format is such that you never play practice hands; you only get quizzed multiple-choice on decisions. So we would recommend pairing it with the Neuralplay Bridge app: learn a little bit, apply it in actual gameplay against the computer in Neuralplay Bridge, and then move on in the lessons. This way youll get a sense for why the system is the way it is.
We love apps that give you some full use for free so that you can really get a feel for them and then Im quite comfortable paying for additional materialBecause Ive already experienced all the features. This is an easy read with quick tutorials and then interactive lessons . Ive already purchased the first intermediate module and expect to buy more. Highly recommended.
Our in-laws taught us to play bridge 40 years ago and it was an extremely confusing and brain taxing process! We didnt stay with it long, partly because we relocated far from our husbands family and didnt know anyone who played. We always asked new people we met if they played bridge but couldnt find a friendly game. If only Id had Wesleys app back then Id probably have found a club and stayed with the game and we wouldnt be starting over now. Anyway we were delighted to find the Learn Bridge app and expect sometime in the near future to actually feel comfortable playing bridge. Ive completed the free modules covering all the basics, and am excited to move on to the more advanced bidding. Thanks for this wonderfully done app.
For decades, Ive been trying to learn to play bridge. Ive never been able to find a resource that gives us a true top-down introduction until we found this app. We are so grateful.
Im using this app along with Tricky Bridge to lean bridge. The two apps complement each other beautifully. LearnBridge goes into much more detail than Tricky Bridges lessons, and after a lesson you can practice what youve learned on Tricky Bridge! The LearnBridge interface is beautifully designed: clean and elegant, with no unnecessary bling. And the lessons are first rate! If you want to learn bridge, buy this app.
This app has helped us learn this difficult game during the quarantine. The lessons are written concisely and perfectly with lots of reinforcing drills. The app is also priced very fairly, enabling anyone to learn the basics (and then some) for free and then paying a low price for additional lessons. Great, great app.
Ive been playing contract bridge for about five years and glad we came across this app. It puts all the basic, or even intermediate, ins and outs of playing bridge into a cogent and easily understandable format. It doesnt just give you the rules, it gives you the why. We wonder when the next one will be released.

We are a true beginner and want to know how to play bridge. We started with FunBridge, which is great for the play, but was lacking in teaching about the bid. So we found this App, and admittedly we were a little irritated when we opened it and discovered that only three chapters were included and we would need to buy the rest. BUT…. This is extremely well done! The three free chapters are very comprehensive, and the format allows for a lot of practice for each concept, and builds on concepts very well. We will gladly pay for the rest of the chapters. Exactly what we were looking for.
This app too us from knowing nothing about Bridge to earning master points in only a few months. The interactive quizzes and tests throughout each chapter were incredibly helpful.
We started learning Bridge about 1-2 years ago, and got the basics down then, but let it lapse and didnt have an opportunity to play much again until recently. This app has been a great way to relearn the basics and then even just the Constructive Bidding, Part 1 has really made us a much much better player. The best part of learning Bridge from an app is that you get lots of practice right there, as youre learning the concepts, no more having to ignore the East West positions (or the dummy before bidding) in a book. The app has a TON of material. There is a lot to learn and LearnBridge gently and repeatedly helps you to learn it and up your game. Highly recommended. Disclaimer: we personally know the developer having met him recently, but Ive been completely honest with the above feedback.
This app taught us the basics of Bridge in a way that was engaging, clear, and well-structured. We really liked the mini quizzes that tested our understanding. Definitely try this out if you're looking to learn the game.
Bridge is not a simple game, this app will help jump start your bridge career. Simply download it, follow the lessons and play. Very worth it.
