To set up the Luna Controller:

The next time you're ready to play, just follow these steps:

This app apparently requires your location all the time to function. It recognizes the controller but wont show in the list of available controllers. The location requirement seems very invasive. Why does it even need it.
We need to be able to remote pair our backbone to our tv from our phone.

Arrived in 2 days supper easy and simple set up. Feels great no complaints out of the box.
We bought the Amazon fire tv gamepads from Amazon about four years ago. They then immediately cut support and forward compatibility with the units @$69 a piece. We took the dive again, and was greeted with a familiar and decidedly unpaid product testing experience. Theres an old saying in Texas.
We wish we had controller support while using our backbone. Love the game however this would make it even better.
The controller needs to support using peripherals within the app to control the interface.
We used to have the Luna service but got rid of it after a few months we just didnt have the time to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to. Our Luna controller never seems to update its firmware on its own it has taken us months to figure out how to get it done because the instructions we keep getting say the controller updates when connected to the app on our phone. This never happens we finally found instructions on how to reset our controller then add it back through the app and the firmware updated finally. We have not been able to use either one of our Luna controllers for months because we hate playing wired in. We have pets that will get tangled up in the cords because when you play wired in you also have to play with headphones. This should be an option that can be turned off in the controller app.
It cant pass through commands from our controller on our iphone.
Resetting phone, modem, router, controller, deleting and reinstalling apps, following all troubleshooting and controller does not work with Luna and iPhone. Give Amazon a couple years to figure this out do not buy a controller if an iPhone user.
Backbone support please. Impossible to play games from phone screen.
Not worth the hassle!!! Amazon de-registered our device(have no idea why, never canceled anything) and since then our controller has been useless! On the phone with the company for a hour and not one person could fix the problem, only transfer us to 4 different departments then told Id receive a call this week about it. For a company who claims to be cutting edge technology, they cant even fix a simple cloud based controller issue! Just save your money and buy a real gaming station.
We tried to use it on each game we have on our iPad but it does not work. We have to pay 6 dollars each month and also buy a 60 dollar controller that does not even work with BlueTooth and it say it does. It is a scam. Do not recommend buying.
Just got it. We really like it so far.
On the introductions it says get the app to play on the cloud but we dont know where that is. Bluetooth doesnt work with Xbox or PlayStation and it doesnt work with our phone. It connects but whats the point if it doesnt work. Why buy a 60$ controller if you need to pay 6$ a month to even use the controller and the app doesnt even exist! Please fix these issues.
Worked fine for a couple of months now the controls move on there own. Tried restarting, reinstalling, etc very frustrating.
We cant use the controller at all and it wont connect to our phone. Ive tried everything and nothing has worked. This has to be the worst gaming controller EVER.
Having different controller options would be good. The backbone was an expensive controller, and for the very limiting Apple iPhone at that. So adding Backbone controller support would be a good option as we would be able to use your cloud services anywhere without bringing around a huge clunky controller and potentially dropping a $1000 phone. Please consider.
App should be fixed. It wont even load the sign in screen up after download.
App is easy to use. Have all the features, which are simple. Also, the app runs smoothly. Love it, keep it up.
The whole setup takes roughly 2 minutes to finish. The app overall really did its job well.

Worked for us, connected the controller to the app and it connected to the tv and the Luna app on our tv just fine.
You can just use a PlayStation controller to connect and play games. Our ps4 controller is working perfectly fine playing resident evil right now.
Doesnt work on iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.7.1. Controller Pairs in Bluetooth settings and in Luna app, but wont actually control games or anything. GARBAGE.
As a mobile gamer, amazon luna offers a variety of different games. Though its not the most mainstream games yet, the games it has to offer are nothing short of great. We would be bothered by the monthly subscription if it wasnt for the great games it offers thus far. One issue we have is that the controller doesnt exactly connect to bluetooth well, and its unusable for other games such as call of duty mobile or if you want to play amazon luna games without wifi. If the bluetooth issue could be resolved and let you game without wifi, this gaming service would be near perfect. Other than that, im absolutely satisfied.
The controller and app work fine over WiFi. But it doesnt work at all if you dont have WiFi available. The app appears to detect our controller, though there is no language on the app that says controller connected which would be a big help for troubleshooting. But the Luna games do not recognize the controller on iPad Pro unless both are connected to WiFi. At this point, until this feature is fixed, Luna is a ripoff. Ive reset the controller. Deleted and renown loaded the app. Forgot the device on Bluetooth. Restarted the controller. Restarted the iPad. No dice. 2018 IPad Pro with BT 5.0 and iOS 14.6.
1) The controller itself is on par with the popular console controllers. 2) The cool thing about the controller and this app is that it will remember all your settings and you dont have to select or connect a game or device. 3) Connects directly to your WiFi hub so minimizes lag for cloud gaming and also can connect to your PC or console – MVP of controllers and this companion app works as intended.
This controller would be AMAZING if only the Bluetooth on it actually worked. It connects to in Bluetooth settings for iPhone, but it's not recognizing it as a controller which defeats the purpose of what we wanted to use it for.
Works well around the house. But if you like to kill time while at work or traveling. It does not or with other networks or phone providers internet.
The app crashes every time you try to open it and add the controller. Controller appeared to turn on and connect, but the app itself wont open to connect controller. Bugs need to be fixed within the app because it is a paperweight currently.
Terrible experience trying to connect to our iPhone. Multiple tries to configure it to connect to the Cloud Direct service – eventually getting to the firmware update after multiple tries, only to return to the home screen and ask to add a controller again. Awful. This will be yet another failed attempt to break into the gaming space until it can compete with xCloud or Stadia. Classic Amazon.

You can connect the controller via Bluetooth on iOS 14.3 and 14.5 beta. The app crashed immediately, but if you hold the action button(circle) and B together for 3 seconds it becomes discoverable. Just connect and start playing.
Just for our new controller, but app crashes instantly. Still in beta, so hopefully it will be better soon.
App does not recognize controller. Tried two different controllers and two different iPhones. Support was worthless as they suggested we try connecting from an Android phone. Not going to happen.

Could be a compatibility issue with iOS 14.5 beta, but Ive not been able to open the app at all. Ive found no support information anywhere.
The app crashes before even opening. Two different phones and an ipad. All the same issue. Disappointing, we were looking forward to trying this out.
We especially like our microphone on the Luna Controller. We could access our ring video camera cameras.
Overall this app works seamlessly integrate with Luna so Im pretty pleased. That said, games that require pressing L or R stick down wont work on Luna Phone controller, which is easily overcome with iOS since it distinguish between touch and press.
Fun but every time we enter it we get kicked.
We love the idea and was so stoked to be able to use our phone. But sadly, the controller wasnt really a controller. We tried two different games and gave up. Skyrim and another racing game. The racing game had horrible turning control, which made it unplayable. Skyrim was fine until the last part of designing our character. We couldnt save it and move to the next screen. So again, just didnt work.
We play with our thumb-sticks set at Left/Look, Right/Roam. The option to assign the function to the sticks and buttons are available in games, but.. When assigning our own settings to functions, even though they show they are assigned differently on the screen, Gameplay and thumb-stick controls do not change. We just cant use it.
The joystick on the controller keeps getting stuck all the time, but it is easy to fix overall it is a really good controller app.
Luna worked great for about 6 months and the. Suddenly started to drop connection during any battle on Fortnite. Reverting to factory settings to see if that helps.
Tl; Dr, Luna controller app do not work with PS5 controller on IOS. Although it is great when it is working, there are some major bugs in Luna controller app which makes the whole Luna experience a wasted. E.g. Ps5 controller (Dualsense wireless) doesnt work properly when used with Luna app on iOS. It does work on Android, but on iOS, Luna somehow remaps some buttons incorrectly. Right stick for example is all messed up. We checked this issue with multiple iOS device with different iOS version even including iOS 26, all have the same issue. We also tested the ps5 controller on these devices outside the Luna map, such as on Apple Arcade games, and it works with no issues at all. This means that Luna controller app messes up the Ps5 controller inputs. We are canceling our Luna subscription and move on to other much more reliable cloud gaming platform. Platform has a lot to offer, and would be amazing if their product team for Luna App would act on user feedbacks. Most issues we read about Luna are related to Luna controller app not the Cloud gaming platform itself.

The app when we put in the password for our account, it said that it was invalid even though it was correct, we waited for a day and then it did it again.
