Piotrek1113: Since it’s almost 2 years of MKT it would be nice to revisit this video and point some changes:
0:30 – it’s not a change per say, but the first driver will be always Toad, Toadette or Peachette
0:36 – since summer 2020 you can play now in landscape mode (however for better comfort and scores in ranked cups it is recommended to play horizontal)
0:50 – after two years we got 16 new courses (City and Remix) and 38 classic courses, so they have enough variety of tracks for every two weeks (sadly that implies for the most part to classic courses, since city tracks are mainly tour-specific)
1:07 – this challenge appeared only three times, after that it doesn’t appear anymore
1:20 – wouldn’t say that 200cc is P2W, since in this speed mode you can’t make so much combos. Of course you can maintain combos for longer, but it’s better when combo quantity>combo longetivity. 200cc is only helpful when grinding the player level.
1:40 – on march 2020 we can play online with others and outside of typical lags and disconnections it plays pretty well. It’s still free online unlike some console Wii U port.
2:00, 2:15 – since this game is combo-oriented, it’s nice that many obstacles do help you maintain combo ;)
2:05 – now we can manipulate the camera after the finish, so that’s something
2:20 – at least there’s more variety between tours now
2:50 – there’s at least one time trial challenge every tour (imo the most boring challenge of them all)
3:20 – Item Ticket is very valuable for ranked mode, so that’s that. At least the option for using it is blocked in online play.
3:40 – since we have the typical cast of characters it is fine now, but costume variations on the other hand… (looking at you, Mario)
3:51 – again, combo and points potential when getting Blooper Frenzy in the last place

Comparing the game on launch vs. now, it is a different beast today. With many, many updates, QoL improvements and F2P additions like Token Shop, Daily Challenge it feels now like a proper Mario Kart. If only we had controller support it would be much, much appreciated. And with potential Battle Mode in the horizon it feels like the game will be even better. Maybe it doesn’t feel like a console game, but it feels surely like a handheld Mario Kart and I’m okay with that. Only hoping that Mario Kart 10 will have some elements from Tour like track variants or character costumes.

???: I think the game has gotten to the point where it can actually be considered good. I am excited every two weeks to see what they bring back next, multiplayer does a pretty good job of limiting pay-to-win, and I think the game is overall pretty fun.

2022: This is the most outdated Triggers You Video of them all.

Colin GZ Network Plus: I like the new tracks, and the character roster, and since you don’t have to pay for the pipes, you can use the rubies to gamble, it’s fun and 150 cc is at a fun and fast pace! And the only thing that triggers me is the XP limit! And also Funky Kong’s banana cannon is broken, and ice Mario’s Ice ability is overpowered and I have lost so many multiplayer races because I got hit with it

mario9: After almost a year, I really love this game. I played it WAY TOO MUCH when it came out, but STILL.
