User Reviews on Mate in 1 move (Chess Puzzles)

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of Mate in 1 move (Chess Puzzles) below:

Beginning players are well-advised to solve as many checkmate in one exercises as they can find until basic checkmate patterns are instantly perceived. Experienced players also may find such exercises useful. This app has the most generous number of exercises that we’ve found, sequences them well for maximum training, and functions smoothly. It is our top recommendation.

Basic mates – good for novices. I’d give it 5 stars except for it’s inability to restore purchase.

Very well thought UI, and the method of presentation will teach you what you need to learn as long as you honestly follow the steps the way they are given, and on a regular basis. We have used several full versions of sets, & feel that some of them could be comined into one set for the topic that was given the set, instead of creating more sets than necessary.

Simply the best chess training materials available on iOS. We have waited for years for these on our phone and am very pleased with all the apps.

  1. sample shows how well the program performs; 2) app allows playing the position vs. Computer – which is essential & missing from other apps; 3) large # of exercises; and 4) good setting variations.

It lags while transitioning to the next puzzle, and no Gestures integration. Id like to swipe back and forth between puzzles for example. Much better than reaching out for the "Next" button on top of the screen, particularly on larger displays.

Awesome app and interface. Great puzzles and instructional material.
