Free to play, no ads!
Minesweeper Classic is the old game of Minesweeper redesigned for your modern touch-based iPhone and iPad. This version of Minesweeper is visually appealing with quick and intuitive gameplay.
Minesweeper features all the original rules of Minesweeper such as a safe first tap, flags/question marks, original difficulty levels, and proper mechanics.
There’s also advanced features such as hints, Smart Undo, and Luck (no more 50:50 guesses!)

If you must guess (as in, there’s mathematically no better move to make) and you guess a square that has the least probability to be a mine, then the square won’t be a mine.
This means no more losing if you end the game with a 50:50 guess!
(For nerds: think of the game as a superposition of all possible mine states, slowly collapsing as you reveal more of the board, as long as you are making the best moves possible you won’t lose!)

Hints
Press the hint button if you are stuck. -
Smart Undo
If you lose the game, press the undo button to undo your last move. Incorrectly flagged spots will remain red. Spots that are flagged that don’t have enough information to be flags will turn to question marks. The remaining mines will be shuffled to keep the game interesting. -
3D Touch and Customizable Controls
Use 3D Touch (if supported by your device) to flag mines.
Configure sensitivity and toggle between 3D Touch and Long Press to toggle flags. -
First tap is never a mine!

— Minesweeper Instructions —
The goal of Minesweeper is to clear all the spaces without mines. The game is over when all spaces that are not mines are revealed.
To start a new game, press the smiley button.
Tap a square to reveal it.
Hold* a square to flag it, an animation will let you know when it’s flagged.
Hold* a square again to unflag it.
Tap a flagged square to toggle it between flag and question mode.
(* If using 3D Touch, firmly tap instead of holding.)
A square with a number lets you know how many of the 8 adjacent squares contain mines.
If a square with a number is touching the correct amount of flags, tap on the number to reveal adjacent squares.
Settings can be viewed by clicking the bar button in the top-left corner.
The timer will be automatically paused when the game is not in focus.

When youre stuck, instead of the luck feature make a hint feature also that highlights the section of cells that provide the info on how to solve the section. Still a great game.
Works great for all we need it to do! We just learned how to play and love how theres no ads. The only thing we would add is an option to customize the background behind the board. That would make this even more amazing. Great work and great app!
This is a perfect little minesweeper game for quick moments, allows for redos, and is actually free. Our only possibly critique is that it would be great if there was a night mode, or at least just an option to set the white tiles to black or something. It would make playing at night a lot better. Thank you!
This game allows hints so you dont have to guess. Often the hint reveals a choice we should have seen as already determined, so this teaches you how to be a better player. Truly free with no ads. We deleted all our other minesweeper games.

It really is true! Every other Minesweeper game on the App Store is either feature-packed with unnecessary perks, in app purchases, ads, in-game currency, analytical trackers, bloat code and the list goes on. Nothing close to the original game which was just mines and flags. These kinds of games are jewels that are very hard to come by these days. Im not sugarcoating that for effect; Because for us, this app was the eighteenth App Store search result for Minesweeper, even though it had the highest reviews. BTW, the luck mechanic is awesome. Ever been in a situation where it is mathematically impossible to identify a ours given the clues? Perhaps in a corner? If your only choice is a wild guess, the game will re-write that part of the field on the spot to not include a ours. This way, we no longer have to worry about our atrociously bad luck we usually deal with when playing this game!
We honestly just wanna play minesweeper without ads. This is giving that to us so no complaints.

Fast loading, no ads. Takes some of the randomness out of the original to make it a bit more fun/less frustrating.
Its just like classic Windows Minesweeper, and with just as many ads (none)! Easy to understand and settings are straightforward. Big thanks to the developers for making it free and ad-free.

Easy to use. NO ADS which is really all we wanted. Id have been willing to pay for no ads, but this is actually free. Its not the prettiest interface we’ve ever seen (it doesnt have a 3D effect), but thats not important to us. It works perfectly and, again, NO ADS. Our only gripe is that we wish it could automatically size to display the entire board on the screen instead of having to scroll, but most other versions are the same.
Very seldom do you find games that are 100% free AND have no ads! We are very appreciative of that! That is the reason that we picked this Minesweeper game to download & play. After playing for a bit, we havent come across any problems at all. Its just like playing the game that we used to play on our big ol desktop computer many moons ago! This is great! Whats not to like!? Its a classic, its free, no ads, and navigating through the game is so easy. Ill admit that we were a bit skeptical at first but we took a chance to see if this was a good pick. Turns out it was. We recommend everyone give it a try if youre looking for a classic Minesweeper experience with a fresh look and feel similar to its original glory.

For anyone looking for just a classic, simple minesweeper, this is the best. We tried at least a dozen different apps and every one just kept frustrating us with ads, freezes, and the overall format. This was a breath of fresh air in comparison. We dont review often review but with the relief of finally finding a good minesweeper, we couldnt help myself.
We absolutely love this game. One of the biggest selling points for us was the lack of ads. It reminds us of something we used to have in puzzle clubs. We would recommend this to anyone.

The only free minesweeper with no ads.
Minesweeper was a wonderful game and they bring it back in a way thats not cluttered. There arent ads which is hard to find and its a free game. How could you not rate it 5 stars.
Works well. We like the interface visually. It offers good feedback when you click the square to mark a bomb.
Easy to use and intuitive interface. No ads… Just like regular minesweeper. Almost perfect! We would prefer an option to disable the timer and to show a message when complete but these are very minor. We thought there was a bug in the count of bombs as another reviewer suggested, but this was before we realized we could scroll the screen over to see the rest of the screen. Now we love it!
Perfectly simple. NO ADS!!! Love the force touch. Would appreciate a dark mode but otherwise its perfect.
Love how there are no ads, the play is clean, clear and self-paced. The redemption feature of erasing an explosion is excellent for learning and forgiveness. Skills are sharpened with each game. Cant be beat!
We’ve been searching for a minesweeper game without ads for a while now and have come across this game. Although improvements could be made this is by far our most favorite minesweeper game.
Great game, but not for big-fingered people. We kept blowing myself up while trying to place a flag. A quick double tap would be a good alternative.

We have been playing this app for a few years and hundreds of hours now. Switching from iOS to android on our phone, which we have a different app for minesweeper, makes us appreciate this app on our iPad even more. Kudos to the developer for a pleasurable experience.
If you like Minesweeper, youll surely like this version. It is easy to play. You can set the difficulty level to suit you. The author is continuing to enhance the app as of early 2020.
