This used to be a great game. Just recently they changed it so that you have to say no to buying ad free game after practically every game. The ads never bothered us, but this forcing of asking to pay for ad free after about every game is really annoying. We cant find any where to turn it off. We are sure there are other ours sweeper copycats that dont do this. We’ve had this game and enjoyed it for several years, but now it is so annoying that we are starting to look for other games to replace these beggars for money. If they are that hard up for money, they will probably be dropping off the app site anyway, so it is probably prudent to start looking for a developer that is not on the verge of bankruptcy or going out of business. This is the only conclusion or opinion that we can draw from this change in behavior. In addition to this they also turned on a function that asks if you want to pay for hints after practically every game too. What other conclusion can you come to? Maybe they bought a 300 foot yacht and need to pay for it. Us minimum wage people dont have much sympathy for that either. Annoying to the point of harassment.
We were willing to put up with the ads because it was a reasonably decent version of the game, despite some glaring bugs. But the ads have become too obnoxious. Time to find a better app.
The new ad model makes this game not desirable as you can not set speaker volume for ads.
This was a fun minesweeper game.
This is a pretty fun game to play when you are passing the time that reminds us of ours sweeper on Windows computers, but we do have one thing that would be a good addition to this game. It would be really nice for there to be a save function so that if you start a fairly large map, you can save it and open it later where you left off, as it is often hard to complete large maps in one sitting. Aside from that, we really like how you can mark where you think the mines are rather than having to remember where they are.

Bought this for one buck thinking it would save our game. Nope. If you back out of a super hard game (400 mines) to answer a text or to take a break, you lose your progress. We wish they would fix that.
Just like old skool! We don’t think it can go black and white like Windows 95 version but not bad.
Beautiful implementation of a classic. Thank you to the developers for allowing us to play while listening to our own music, too. That’s huge. :)
We like minesweeper games and was really enjoying this app until we’ve had it crash on us too many times in the middle of a game for no reason at all. We wasn’t even touching the screen this last time when it crashed and lost a game we had been working on for a little while. Crashing is bad enough but then losing our game in progress at the same time is simply unforgivable. We’ll now be deleting this app. Too bad. It was our favorite version of the classic game but there’s no sense in playing a game that you can’t finish. FYI this is on our iPhone 6 running IOS 9.2 and there were no background notifications or other system related interruptions, no background music playing and we have a 98% charge.
We have to agree with the other reviews here… It was better for us before the auto-centering feature was added. The new look is nice. Maybe we could have the option to turn off the auto movement. Overall, the apps by this dev are innovative and good looking, but this latest is just a little over the top for us. Update 2 Aug 2013: The fix for the auto-centering issue has returned this to being our favorite game! Thanks guys! Good job!
On an iPhone 4s, our finger may be too large. Often rather than set a flag, the result is the selection of a square & a ours explodes. This does not happen with other apps!
This used to be a very good and easy way to play before the update. The auto centering and new graphics are all just unnecessary.
We think this version of minesweeper has a programming issue that ruins the game. Often times we will lose a game when we hit a box that shouldn’t have a ours in it, and it does. For example, we will have figured out that a ours is on the board, flag it, and it’s touching a "1" – this means it’s safe to reveal the other boxes touching that 1. Upon revealing them, we find that there is more than one ours touching that #1 box.
When you touch a far end of the screen it auto adjust, making it difficult to hit the space you want with speed.
We used to absolutely love this app, but have not been very since the new update. It is so difficult to play without accidentally tapping on a bomb. If SkyPaw does not fix this soon, we’ll be looking for a new minesweeper app. Please add the option of keeping the board stationary when we’re playing. In addition, in the mode where you only mark bombs. Please bring back the functionality that allows us to double tap numbered squares that have all the bombs around them marked and clear the board that way.
We prefer the previous version. In a matter of a few touches, we’ve tapped on a bomb because the screen moved. It’s not the square we wart to tap on. We’ve played this enough to know which square to tap on. We’ve tried tapping slower & screen still moves unexpectedly. We also prefer the old version where we could play while seeing the whole screen. Not having a visual nor access to play the entire box feels like a forced play. We’re not sure where our starting point is when we press reset for a new game, besides the shaky screen. Overall, we don’t like the new version.
Well its a very good game you should get it the only bad thing is the instructions arent very clear.
As you play this game, it is next to impossible to solve. Example: The game will glitch and show that there are two mines adjacent to a block. When you click to remove the obvious non-mined block, you lose and the game will show that there were actually more mines than the clue was showing.
Us and our son had a competition on this game! We won and now he is practicing hard to defeat us tonight! Hahaha! Love this app! 5 stars and highly recommend!
For some complaints about inaccurate squares, please read the last section of the description carefully. We tested the game with much care before releasing, to be sure that you have the best experience. The reason that some of you think some squares having wrong number of surrounding mines is because those squares are on the edge of the visible board on the screen but not on the edge of the real one, hence you did not see other blank squares around them. By using preview mode or dragging the board around, you could easily see the issue. Please, drop us an email telling about the problem to be sure that we deserve a 1 star or bad reviews. The app works perfectly to us! We were also confused at first that there are cells with wrong numbers but then realize that it is not the edge of the board. Slide to the next of the cell, we see that the numbers are correct because there are still cells around it. Now enjoy it at most. Thanks for the app!

We love the design and the simplicity. Graphics are not harsh on eyes and no need to inconveniently scroll the field on higher difficulties. Great Minesweeper app for idevices.
We love this classic game and this app is the best Minesweeper in the store! Beautiful graphic and fast movement! Don’t know why some people complain about it accuracy? Look at the ours numbers on the top to see do you still have mines unflagged before thinking that numbers on cells are wrong calculated!!!!

Really fun. Didn’t realize there was a zoom level on boards… Just thought the game was broken. Reading a bullet list of notes on a simple game isn’t a great solution for a ui problem. Suggestion: Perhaps when the board is larger than the display, you could start the game with it zoomed out so the user knows there are more tiles. Alternately, you could show the edges of neighboring tiles if they’re off the screen.
Very clean, the boxes are sized perfect for your finger. Simple to use, press flag button or hold the square for a sec. Love the UI in the help section. Probably wont play the bigger sized games but for the small game very easy to get around in… Personal preference. Dev gets 4 stars for simple, clean interface… Dont think they deserve the 1’s either… And for the record we purchased the ad-free version and there weren’t any ads. For us this app is just fine. :)
We’ve played minesweeper for over 10 years and we love the original game. This app is nice BUT IT IS NOT ACCURATE! Out of first 4 games we played, 3 had mistakes in them. Come on, why would there be a cell labeled "1" on the field with NO mines nearby. Another example is a separately standing ours. If there are no mines nearby, it should be surrounded only by cells labeled "1". The very last game we played had this type of ours surrounded by "1s" and a single "2" cell which did not have ANY sense. Sorry, but we cannot give more than 2 stars for the game that has mistakes In it’s very core making it unplayable.
Just about game we have played so far has errors. Numbers do not accurately reflect number of mines in surrounding squares. Turns a well-known classic time waster into a frustrating, not so fun annoyance.
Nice presentation but buggy counts and oversensitive touch is unacceptable. Also found all mines in one game but game would not end.
We don’t understand how this app can have good ratings we paid a freakin’ dollar for it and it has ads? Not only that but at the top of the screen? Not cool.
Was ok until recently a blinky-ad appeared! The pics above should be busted for false advertising. They don’t show the ads! Useless!
