Description
Moonlight Mahjong is Mahjong Solitaire in virtual reality 3D, designed specifically for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Intuitive touch control allows you to tilt and turn, zoom in and out to match tiles in 3D. Play “arcade style” with progressively difficult levels and high scores, or relax with one of the non-competitive game modes. The gameplay is simple yet addictive.
Moonlight Mahjong features four main types of play:

Scramble Mode: Match tiles faster than the automated opponent "Tilebot" through increasingly difficult levels. The board is automatically reshuffled when you run out of matches, making this game mode easy to start and fun, yet challenging on the higher levels.

Challenge Mode: Compete against Tilebot in full puzzle mode, with no automatic reshuffling, only undo. Challenge requires more strategy than Scramble. This is the ‘pure’ form of the game, but it is difficult!

Puzzle Mode: Solve puzzle boards with no time limit. Choose any layouts you like. This is the original game mode, what people usually think of as Mahjong Solitaire.

Relaxation Mode: Clear boards with no time limit and automatic reshuffling when out of matches. Perfect for when you’re just not in the mood to strategize or rush.

Great big thank you to the developer for offering genuine improvements based on the suggestions of players! (Instead of screwing it up the way so many others do.) Still challenging without being stressful. Addictive & Fun! (Dec 2013) This a great game. Lots of different tile layouts, can be very challenging. Liked the free version well enough to buy it just to have a tiny bit more space on the tiny iPhone screen. Congrats to the designer, this is a real winner!

We’ve been playing Moonlight Mahjong for years now. Very enjoyable. Note to the Developer Could you add more of the larger puzzles with 1000+ pieces. The very large ones are our favorites but there are only 3 or 4 with more than 500 pieces. Thank you.
On an iPhone at the higher levels constantly mis-hitting the tiles and moving on to the next move only to find out that it didn’t match the previous move. Also constantly rotating to find moves. The tilebot never makes a mistake and never has to rotate to find a move! It’s impossible for a human to touch a tile on this game without seeing it but not so for the cheating tilebot.
[2022-12-11] After updating, keeps trying to activate Game Center. Need a way to turn that off until such time as we choose to activate it. Minus one star for no on/off switch for Game Center. Minus one star for continuing to push the login for Game Center when we have clearly chosen to remain signed out. As far as we are concerned it is a privacy and security issue first, and an annoyance second.
We are unable to connect and play multiplayer anymore. The app just states joining game before crashing.
Im not sure what the creators of this game are thinking, but almost nobody can beat the tile but after about little 19. We realize some levels are more challenging than others and thats part of the fun, but The tile but just solves too fast.
We have completed almost all the puzzles and we have had this app for quite some time and there has never been any new puzzles added. We paid for the app thinking that there would be more puzzles added. The paid version is identical to the free app. Please add more puzzles. ST.
We’ve had this game for years. Scramble is the most fun mode but now its so hard so soon in the game, its no fun anymore for those of us that just want to play for fun. The game shouldnt have the hardest layouts in the first few levels and the tilebot is too fast too soon. We used to get up to about level 50 but now can hardly get to 20. The game should have a harder level for those who want it rather than ruining it for everyone else.
We used to enjoy this game so much but now, it is completely stressful and unfair because the AI is way too fast, beyond human ability, so how can that be fun? You can never advance, and once you do, we just keeps getting faster and faster and pushing you down farther and farther to the point where we now literally hate playing this game. Please give us the option To control how fast or slow we want AI to make moves. Or at the very least, slow it down for crying out loud we are not a machine! And Im really fast! But we are not a machine. Please slow it down! This was one of our favorite games and now we hate it.
We have played for years. Loved this game, could play for hours. But now the tile bot is way to fast. Its lost the enjoyment of it. Wish they would make it enjoyable again.
Update No response or correction on the ability to actually have a chance at beating the AI. However, we did lose 26 levels since posting. Maybe that was our response. DONT PAY FOR THIS GAME! Used to be a fun game. But now, you get to a certain level and it becomes humanly impossible to beat the AI. If someone simply repeatedly tapped the tiles and was amazingly lucky enough to get matches every time, you still couldn’t win because the AI goes so fast.
The game has changed and is no longer fun. There is no way that you can ever come close to beating levels as they are finished for wayyyyy before we are even half done. Im over level 100 and at least won some levels. Now its none and extremely frustrating to play and no longer fun at all. Theres no way the computer can be finishing as fast as it is. Game is ruined for us, used to play for hours no hours.
The update removed most all of what made the game enjoyable. Not automatic landscape mode. No scramble to try before you start a new game. You went backwards instead of forward with the update. Will try another brand.
This game has numerous option. Should satisfy the serious player perfectly. Best it focuses on the game. Not on dancing stars, stupid achievements and loud music. (All are things to keep toddlers happy.) Thank you, thank you to the developer! It is a fun puzzler. Appeals to the brain. We spend too much time on it LOL. That is what a really good game does.
Great game. One of our favorites. The only issue we have is that on the iPhone 10 the board used to rotate so you could see a wider screen but since the last update, the screen no longer rotates automatically to the wide screen. We dont know what happened but it would be great to see it get fixed. Chuck.

This app may be abandoned, unfortunately. Months and months have gone by and yet… No fix on the tilebot speed which makes playing the game on the higher levels nearly impossible.
Absorbing. With settings adjustment, you can make the game as relaxing or as challenging as you choose. The 3-D feature makes it more challenging, and you can rotate the tile set.
Warning! This game is highly addictive. We first downloaded Moonlight Lite and loved it so much we got the full version. Just be sure to read the hints/tips on how to play that they give you when you first open the game. We like the 3D aspect. We didn’t think we would like playing against the tilebot but it makes us pay attention and not longer too long to make a choice of tiles. Moonkight is a delight to have particularly if you are in a line or waiting a long time to be seen or to get an order. Get it NOW!
Very challenging. We have played this game for many years and never get tired of it. We may take a hiatus from it but we always come back to it. Very addictive!!

We love, love, love this app! We’ve been playing it for years and we love the scramble mode, (something we have yet to see in any other app). What minor issues we’ve had have been resolved with each update. We’ve tried other Mahjong apps just to switch things up, but always end up deleting them and coming back to this one. And its free with no ads! One feature we would like to see in the future is some way to mark specific layouts as favorites so they come up more often in scramble mode. Some of our favorite, more challenging layouts dont come up often enough. Thank you for this app!
When we first started to play this game we were frustrated as all get out but, once we were able to master the techniques of play we fell in love with it!!! It IS a challenge we admit, but when you are able to win to the 10th level it will make you feel great!!! Most fun and challenging game we play on our ipad mini!!! WONDERFUL!!!! DIFFICULT!!!! CHALLENGING!!!!! You’ll LOVE it!!!
