A Glimpse into Movie Geek – A Film Quiz

Movie Geek is a film quiz for both casual viewers and film buffs.

It’s simple: identify a movie from its poster, cast, director, tagline and summary, revealing those clues one-by-one until you can name it.

Gain credits for identifying each movie then use them to reveal information about other movies. The fewer pieces of information you need to reveal to identify each movie, the more credits you’ll accumulate. If you can name a movie from its two stars alone, you’re going to do very well. But if you need the synopsis and tagline too, that’s going to cost you more.

With over 1000 hand-picked movies to identify split into 34 levels, from Finding Nemo to Forrest Gump, from Speed to Schindler’s List, Movie Geek provides hours of gameplay. The most popular and well-known movies from the last 70 years of Hollywood have been chosen to make up this film catalogue; even the most seasoned movie-goer will struggle to identify every one!

Movie Geek focuses on English-language films.

Movie Geek uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

This game is a must have game for someone who deeply loves movies! Our ultimate favorite movie game! We love to guess right off the bet just looking at the blurred movie poster, but there are a lot of helpful hints of that doesnt work. We wish there would be a carousel mode to see the blurred posters in full screen. Elegant and sophisticated design! Awesome movie selection! More levels please!!!

We spend A LOT of time watching movies. Reading about movies, consuming trivia, looking at all the people who made the movie. We seriously love this app. Its the perfect challenge. We would love to see more updates in the future!

Awesome! The game is fun and challenging, we like the points system, and there are no ads or purchases. This rules, and its helping us expand our movie knowledge even more. Our only problem so far is that movie titles with ampersands (&) dont work, and we have to spend the 100 points if we want to reveal the title. Luckily there are only a few here and there. Overall great game.

Please update with more because we are now officially finished and our life feels useless now so please MOREEEE.

Very fun game, but ran into a bug while trying to put in the answer for Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. It would not accept either & or and. Please fix! Thanks.

This app is meant to be for fans of cinema but consistently they are using retooled images for streaming that arent iconic or tied to the film. We shouldnt be trying to guess blu ray covers. Nice try though.

So is the movie not called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? We put and, we put &, we even put spelling errors like snd, znd, and others, but no come to find out, its literally the & that we put about 20 times. Other than that, amazing, we just want that fixed for other players.

Im a bit addicted. Its a cool concept and and its really helping us learn more about movies and improving our memory. The years of the movies arent always right, Sometimes the image has the name of the movies and the & symbol doesnt work so for certain movies like turner &hooch, we know we have the right answers, but we cant uncover the title. Other than that, its a great game. Definitely cant wait for more levels.

You should be able to see the picture and guess the movie but the game requires you to use points to even see the picture therefore you cant guess what the movie is because you have absolutely zero information if you run out of points. You should have to use your points for the other information such as actors/director, tag line or synopsis. Would be more fun that way.

This game is so well done. Thank you developers for putting it together.

They havent updated so level 34 is it. Fun game just wish there were more levels.

We’ve been waiting so long for a movie trivia game that is fun to play and is also challenging for genuine movie geeks. They game is really as hard as you want it to be. You can access to clues at your own pace, so if you want a tough challenge, try guessing the movie based on the blurred poster alone, or else unveil the director, stars, tag line or synopsis. Simple, beautifully designed and addictive, no intrusive ads and better than any other movie trivia app in the store.

We love how they give us hints for the movie. Keeps us guessing.
