Community Insight:
This app is tons of fun for using gme on the go! However there are a couple issues. First: whenever we bring up the we menu it immediately automatically shuts the window inhumanly fast before we can read the text. Secondly: despite having purchased premium and having attempted to use the restore purchases option, it still says that the premium tables are still locked and unaccessible. Other than that? Its lovely.
We just got this about an hour ago and had to come back to write a review. Im kind of struggling on how to play solo and we think this is going to make it really cool fast and fun. Also we can say no doubt Ill use this for DM as well for random sparks for npcs plot twists monster tweaks. Theres a lot here well worth the 2.99.
Having read the original and second edition books for the Mythic system and we have to say this is the definitive way to experience it. Using this and Obsidian for note taking pretty much allows for soloing any TTRPG. Really hoping that we can get additional name generators akin to the ones present for Planets and Stars but for other things like magical objects, names for spells, and similar fantastical aspects.
Makes it so easy to play games solo! Cant recommend it enough. Dev is super responsive to feedback as well- join the Mythic GME discord.
This app was great for on the go rpg, but now whenever we open it, we get stuck on the opening screen. Cant click on anything anymore, nothing loads. Im on iPad.
If you use the Second Edition of the Mythic Gamemaster Emulator, this app comes in very handy. There are some additional useful features that are locked behind a $7.99 paywall, and in addition, included in that price they give you 7 months of whatever new stuff they create for the app in that time frame. Question to the Dev: we often use the old Red Book Mythic rules, IE, we often use Mythic as a standalone game system using rules from that book, and we use several of the rules from Mythic Variations, and Mythic Variations 2, especially the Statistic Check rules in Variations 2. Are you planning on having those charts from those systems in the app? It would be very helpful for us. We would love to have those charts, and check abilities in this app, along with a separate section just to write overall notes to record the whole story in one place. Our goal would be to be able to leave our notebook for recording everything at home, and just play entirely using the charts and checks and note sections in the app, and we really want that Statistic Check ability so we can use Mythic as a standalone RPG system on the fly.
After the update we cannot create new journals we get an error null check operator used as null vale we have reinstalled, rebooted and updated iOS. Great app when it worked.
What a pleasant surprise. Ive used the Mythic Deck for a solo Call of Cthulhu game previously and absolutely loved the ease of use. We just tried Mythic GME Mobile with a new game of Mage: The Ascension (Revised Quickstart). The app brings another order of magnitude ease of use to solo gaming RPGs. We never was all that great at tracking scenes and sifting through PDFs to find the right table. The apps streamlined workflow makes it easy to spin up scenes, check Fate, track the Chaos Factor, pull up keywords for various genre tables, and roll game-specific dice for crunch. Theres no looking back. The app is super fast, intuitive, and convenient. As a result, we find ourselves focusing more on the unfolding story than scene and game mechanics. Youll need to know Mythic, so we advise getting the latest guide that includes refinements to the system now beautifully reflected in the app.
It has all the tools we would want to run our game without overexplaining or making it too complex. The app is stable, it looks nice, and it performs as it ought. A really easy buy at $0.99. Thank you for not making it a subscription.
It can slow you down having all the papers and book flipping to do while playing solo. This app has been a great time saver and gets you more engaged in the present story than book keeping. Great update from the old version. With more planned features coming. Cant recommend it enough. Keep up the energy.
Really pretty great so far. Its really awesome that a random NPC event will roll from your list of characters. Minor complaint (not enough to drop a star) is that when rolling on a list you can roll an empty entry that has the text Choose. This means getting a random event that has to do with a NPC for example may just say Choose. And you would need to navigate over to the lists to reroll.
