Dive into Nether Earth

Nether Earth is one of the earliest computer strategy games taking place in real time. It was released for the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 in 1987. It was published in the United Kingdom by Argus Press Software and re-released in Spain by Mind Games Espana S.A.
The player takes the control of the human side in a war against the mysterious Insignian race. All of the warfare is carried out by enormous military robots.
The player controls a flying machine which can fly over any part of the play-area. The player must build robots and give them orders to attack Insignian robots and capture neutral or enemy factories to increase production and thus aid the war effort. The ultimate objective is to capture all the enemy bases and thus win the war. Everything takes place in real-time with the action being ongoing rather than turn-based. Because the player’s view of the battlefield is limited to where their flying-machine is, much of the front-line fighting is left to the machines whilst the player concentrates on building more robots. The game is displayed in forced-perspective isometric graphics.

Great game from when games were about having fun.

This is a really great game If you are looking for an old school strategic game.

Don’t get discouraged. It may seem like you have no chance at first, but there are strategies to win. First hint: try holding the dpad buttons for a very short time to do a small move if you are having trouble landing on the base. This will help you issue orders quicker. Second hint: try to capture a second base quick because otherwise you’ll soon get overrun by superior bots. What worked for us was a combination of strategic and tactical gameplay, having to get hands on in battles to accomplish the first objective. Third hint: look at what kind of bots they are sending at first. Equip appropriately and Don’t be afraid to use your command module for more than commanding :) Good luck!

Overall great old game. If you take some time to learn since there is no tutorial this can be challenging at first. There can be more info in-game about weapons and etc. Try it if you are interested.

We wrote this version of this game about 12 years ago (you can google for nether earth brain games), and we were about to do a port to the AppStore when we found this game! We are quite disappointed that someone took our game, and uploaded it to the app store without even letting us know, or even acknowledging us… We are ok with the game being here (since we released it as open source). But please add a acknowledgment and link to the brain games website…

There should be water for a powerful navy an air hanger a dock a barracks all these for ground air and water units tht u control.

We got used to it doesn’t crash any more we know how to use it we love it.

It is a really fun game. Needs a tutorial and stats it also needs to be harder or new places. Really fun.

This game is very fun but NEEDS A TUTORIAL otherwise don’t change a thing.

Mother of all rts games is here now. Excellent game, feel nostalgia for sweet 90 era of computer games. Difficulty is easier than an original, so we beat them all in 30 minutes. Would be happy to play it with hardware joystick like iCade.

Best, most creative, amazing strategy game on IOS, but it needs a tutorial.

This game seems cool….. But it needs a tutorial.

We really love this game on our 2G, although it crashes every ten days or so. This would be perfect if it was easier to learn how to play and win. There’s no tutorial or stats on weapons, which would be nice. We also cannot figure out how to win! The other side pushes us back before we can get close! We wish we at least had a day to start, or easier difficulty. Please consider this game!

It always crashes. After we hit Auction it crashes.

We hit the action button when trying to make a robot but it just crashes….

It always crashes when we attempt to make a robot.

Whenever we try to buy anything it crashes.

We have played this game before but it keeps crashing when we hit the action button in the robot building menu.

On our 2nd gen. Ipod this game worked great, each time there was a new experience, however, we have moved onto a 4th gen. Ipod and the game wont play, we have all the latest updates, but it simply will not play.

This is one of our favorite games of all time, but the controls are very glitchy. Maybe through the next update you could use the gyro control rather than touch screen?

So after the loading screen flashes, all we get is a black screen. Worthless.

Y won’t it load? It crashes right when u start it.

We try to open the game but after we do that it shows the company and goes black. It then stays black. Why? Please fix!!!

To control the robot just go over it and it shows buttons to control it but when you come face to another robot they shoot fast and you’re trying to change and fire but before you know it your robot explodes and too hard. Please fix and will play more.!

We think it’s a good game after u figure out the controls and to any one who what’s a update u probably won’t get one because this is a old game one of the first strategy games so they probably won’t update it but it’s free so how can u complain well we guess that’s all.

We think you need instructions on how to control the robots. Other than that, it’s a great game!

Great game overall but you are pro ably getting the one star ratings because no one can figure out how to build and control the robots but for people like us have figured it out just have trouble steering the hovercraft if you could use the corners of the screen to steer it would be 5 stars but until an update it will stay a 3. Great game though.

We open it up and we get the company then it goes black! Please fix this and we’ll play it then we were really looking forward to playing this but it wont work!

Want to play but company logo comes up and then nothing. Black screen.

Wont liet us open up the app!!! It shows the company name, then goes black!!
