Worth every penny. As fun as it is difficult, those save points will be beacons of light in the darkness.
We absolutely loved this game. The only problem is that in one of the Far Away levels, all the textures are shifted one block to the right, but they act like they aren't, causing you to go through blocks. We loved this game and we would like to see this patched in the future.
We think this game has a great story and does a great job at making time fly. We start playing and have so much fun we end up playing until our phone dies.
Nub's Adventure is a beautiful game with easy controls and no lag, our only complaint is that you can't listen to music at the same time.
We like to think we have pretty reasonable expectations for app games. We just want them to be functional and fun. This game not only met those expectations, it surpassed them! Beautiful music, and beautiful scenery in its simplicity. Most of the player characters in these side scroller app games feel like just pixels we're controlling. This little guy, Nubs, was a character! We mean, sure. The game is simple and basic, but that's it's charm. No saving the world or heroic stuff. He just wants to live his life in his cozy little house. 5 stars! 11/10! Beautifully made game.
This is our first game review on the App Store and we had an iPhone for 7+ years now. This game is a must for anyone looking for a great game. Absolutely love it.
We absolutely adored this game. It's an offline game, you can stop at any time and it won't make you start over, Nubs is so cute and easy to control (although the Dirt Monster is pretty challenging), and it's extremely detailed despite being pixel. Without buying the full version, we made it to about 25%, and that still took us hours upon hours upon hours. The full version is endlessly fun, as we still haven't completed it (we're at 45% now). Even without buying full, the game is amazing, engaging, and definitely high quality! We would recommend it to everyone.
As a big fan of the pixel genre and what it can do ; we really feel this adventure . You feel for the little guy right away, and the chill music and sweeping world just draw you right in. And it's a great balance, you don't feel overwhelmed but you don't feel it's too easy either. This is the kind of stuff we could play all our life. Amazing.
It controls great. It has an interesting exploration based design, with some action gameplay mixed in. Soundtrack is new agey in the best possible way. Simulataneously relaxed and entertained while playing. Recommended.
This game can be hard as heck but ultimately it is rewarding. Finally beat it after a year of on-and-off playing. An interesting world to explore, good controls (except for the worm :( ), great music and tough challenge. It is rare that a Metroidvania style game can be done well on iOS, but this is proof it is possible.

Honestly one of the best games we've played in a while on the App Store. The graphics and music make the experience equally mysterious and magical. Reminiscent of KatAM, as well.
Wow. The graphics are simple, but the gameplay is fantastic. All of the little things add up: multiple ways to move through the levels make it feel like you're really exploring. The basic platforming feels great. We love that there are places that seem out of reach, like it's an actual environment and not just a puzzle you are going to complete. The world is full of nice little reactive atmospheric things, and the music fits in perfectly. You're not just stuck in one style of movement, the way the gameplay works you get to play several kinds of games in one. A great example of the kind of depth you can create when you focus on gameplay over graphics and churning out content. And the story is light, but it sets up some dramatic tension right away, and characters throughout provide little bits of insight and color to the world, without dumping a lot of cheesy dialog on you. Honestly if you like action-adventure games this is really a fantastic modern interpretation of the genre. Our only critique is our fingers sometimes lose the left/right buttons. An adaptive virtual d-pad might be better. Or just some haptic cues or something when you drift off the buttons.
We know the developers and they are awesome people, this game is great and we hope they might make more games in the future.

This game doesn't have enough reviews on metacritic to get a score, but the ones it does have are positive and so we took a chance with it. We are so glad we did. The graphics are pleasant, the music is enjoyable, the controls work smoothly, and most importantly of all, the gameplay is highly satisfying. If you are looking for a worthwhile exploration-platformer, this is the one.
It is such a great game! Nice and simple! Though we may warn you that it can be VERY hard at times.
Definitely one of the best 2D platformers we've played in a while. Rico is pretty awesome too. Look forward to seeing what Max comes up with next.
After this update our game pad stopped controlling the game.
We love this game so much, we visit it here and there since the first time we discovered it 8 years ago, is always really fun to beat the game again. However this time Im having a lot of lag issues. Not sure why just here and there the game will crash, its happened about 10 times today alone trying to play it to relive this nostalgic game but is getting annoying. Please help.
Wish it wasn't so high to unlock the full game thou. Other than that it's cool. We play these kinda of platformer app games mostly.

This game is just….wow. On the AppStore nowadays you find (supposedly) emoji makers,apps telling you where Pokmon are,and on very rare days,a direct port of a game for four dollars. But this? This is way different! Pixel art style,fun gameplay,and having to pay for the rest of the game. Yeah that is right,the developers didn't make a paid version. Which we find ridiculous. Another (stupid) compliant is FALL DAMAGE,IN A 2D PLATFORMER. Well at least the game is still fun. Suggestions, make a paid version,every time you upgrade your house you get some kind of upgrade(bommerang upgrades,more health,and a sword would be nice) All in all the game is fine and we recommend it.
This game is awesome. We got it on steam not so long ago. We fell in love with the art style and awesome controls. Our problem with majority of platmformers is the controls. We played through the free half of the game with screen controls. We decided we'd pull out our MOGA controller and give a shot. It says its got controller support, but it doesnt. We think its a bug but controllers dont work.

This game was a lot of fun for about 10 minutes, then BAM pay wall. When will these companies learn that micro transactions that allow you to proceed or get an advantage are dead. Should have sold characters, VISUAL upgrades, NOT pay to proceed BS. FAIL, uninstall.
Good game, but it needs to be updated. There are significant bugs including ones that massively mess up platforms and hit/landing areas.
Loved playing this game, we even decided to buy it. Now that we've paid for it the app won't even load and constantly crashes.
The only beef we have with the game is that we think the background and characters aren't showing up for us, since the only things that we can see are the ground (which still looks gorgeous) and black everywhere else. The only reason that we didn't give a bad review is because IOS 9.01 is more likely to be the problem than the game itself.
This game is terrific, from the download all the way to actual gameplay. We really like the fact that the developer gave us a chance to play the game before deciding to buy it. Like it says on the "Free" button prior to your actual download, there is an in app purchase of $4.99 but for that price, that is a steal. We've had a great time playing this game and hope for a follow up from the developer. Download the game but be aware that there is a one time payment in order to play the full game. Tl;dr – great game, one time purchase for full experience. Do it.
This was and is a fantastic game. The pixelation is beautiful and well designed overall. After beating it it stiller a you adventure around until you are satisfied. Highly recommend. Enjoy the game, we know we did.
Ive almost finished this game on our iPhone 6 (its very playable on a screen this size). The game is free to download with a fairly generous section of the game playable and then an in-app purchase of $4.99 (USD) to unlock the entire game. After playing it for an hour or so a day for the past week, we would happily say that it was $4.99 well spent! The pixel graphics are reasonably good as is the sound, but where this game really shines is the gameplay. The levels are well thought out; there are some tricky levels later in the game that took us plenty of replays to get right, but nothing that seemed impossible. There are many parts of the map that you need to return to later in the game after obtaining the necessary keys or symbols to unlock doors. We plan on replaying the game on our iPad after finishing it on our iPhone. Its that much fun! Looking forward to future games from this developer.
