===============================

Adventure calls… but you don’t always have time to spend hours optimizing your character sheet or managing your inventory! One Deck Dungeon lets you jump right in to bashing down doors, rolling dice, and squashing baddies with style. Get a full roguelike game experience, boiled down to its essence, and captured in a single deck of cards and a handful of dice!

One Deck Dungeon is a dungeon crawling adventure game for one or two players. Each time you play, choose one or two of these 6 brave heroes:

  • Mage – There’s rarely a problem in the dungeon she can’t solve with a spell.
  • Warrior – Her favorite dungeon activity is squashing her opponents immediately.
  • Rogue – Watch in awe as she dispatches monsters with style.
  • Archer – Accurate, brilliant, catastrophically deadly.
  • Paladin – She seeks out danger and shields her allies from deadly enemies.
  • Mist – This breach mage has crossed over from the world of Aeon’s End to help defend Mynerva. Learn more at AeonsEndDigital.com!

After every game, your heroes make progress toward unlocking up to 15 new talents, building up their power for future games.

There are 5 dangerous challenges to face:

  • Dragon’s Cave – The thick-skinned wyvern who occupies this dungeon prefers her heroes on the crispy side.
  • Yeti’s Cavern- If you can survive the freezing winds and biting cold, an abominable snowman awaits.
  • Hydra’s Reef – Chop off one head, and another appears! This regenerating venomous monstrosity is a slippery foe.
  • Lich’s Tomb – Hordes of undead foes, evil curses, and magical wards. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Minotaur’s Maze – Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!

More content is available via In App Purchase:

The Forest of Shadows expansion doubles the content in the game. It features adventures in all-new lush yet deadly locales. A vast network of mossy underground tunnels and connected forest areas await your heroes!

  • 5 new heroes – Alchemist, Druid, Hunter, Slayer, & Warden
  • 5 new dungeons – Lair of Indrax, The Mudlands, Realm of Venom, Smoldering Ruins, & The Vile Roots
  • A complete new 44-card encounter deck
  • Additional progression focuses, basic skills, potions, & more!

The Abyssal Depths expansion adds a new kind of threat: Fiends who hound you throughout your entire quest to reach the boss. It includes 6 different Fiends, each with two levels of difficulty. Plus, 2 new aquatic heroes join the fight in the murky waters!

Individual expansion cards:

  • Caliana – This faerie has decided that dungeoneering looks fun! Don’t let her get bored…
  • Fanatic – A righteous Sentinel is here to smite evil wherever it may lurk!
  • Witch – Her chaotic magic hammer is ready to smash glooping oozes into glooping puddles!
  • Cinder Plains – The Hellhound awaits those reckless enough to venture here…
  • Phoenix’s Den – Only the bravest heroes can handle the heat!

Once you know your way around the dungeon, a game takes about 15 minutes. It might take a little longer if you’re learning, or a lot shorter if you jump into a pit of spikes.

Warning: do not jump into a pit of spikes.

All cards in One Deck Dungeon have many colorful boxes. Roll your dice, and attempt to fill in as many boxes as possible. For every one you don’t fill, you’ll suffer consequences in hearts and time! Once you complete an encounter you’ll be able to learn a new skill, acquire a new item, or gain experience to level up your hero.

Welcome to the world of One Deck Dungeon. Adventure awaits!

One Deck Dungeon Reviews

We bought the physical game because of reviews that its a great solo game but we couldnt follow the rules – mostly about when to burn cards for the passing of time. After a few attempts, we put it aside. Then we bought the app. What a fun game! Its surprisingly deep and it plays differently each time. So far we’ve played two dozen games with the Warrior and we just started delving into 2 player games using the Rogue and Mage. Its a cross between pen and paper D&D and Yahtzee. Skills provide more dice, items affect how the dice are applied. Decisions on how to use the dice and items can greatly affect whether the battle is won or lost. So can deciding to burn time to gain the two health versus using a potion to heal. Im looking forward to buying all the expansions.

We downloaded this game because all the female characters triggered a male player who reviewed it, so if a game can easily emasculate someone Im in. Once we got into this game we found out that its also very fun!

We really love this game. Its all the fun of an RPG but with the ability to play fast and solo. We would give 5 stars but for one problem. All characters on the character selection are female. In a RPG gender choice should be just as common as class (and race too, which should also be added). Is it gender politics making its way into the game world, negligent oversight, or rush to finish the product? At any rate a button to change gender with alternate artwork would be simple. Developers please fix this and maybe add race with modifiers for a future expansion.

We hated this game at first. The dice seemed largely unbalanced or fair. After playing this over and over again each day its getting better and making more sense. Your rewarded for taking risk early. Also the campaign mode is nice. We still love the board game version.

Its not enough that it is difficult to defeat a boss, even at Novice level, but we are suspicious that the die rolls are rigged. We were looking at our statistics and we have rolled 30% more 1s and 2s than 5s and 6s. With a limited number of times to use your potions to try and manipulate the dice, its no wonder you have to choose potions to heal yourself rather than use potions to create dice that will defeat your opponent. Id be interested in knowing how many times a player is defeated before they win once against the dragon.

We’ve been debating getting the physical copy of One Deck Dungeon, so when we saw it was available on iOS, we jumped at the chance to buy it. Im glad we did. We now know that Im NOT going to buy the physical copy. It might be the the simple animation or the complicated mechanics, but we do not enjoy this game. Maybe we will pick up the physical copy one day, but we will have to play it first.

At first look seems cool but after buying all the dlc we came to realize that this game isnt fun first off the dice rolls are skewed more towards the worst results and then the bosses are extremely way too challenging. We do not recommend this game unless you like endless hours of frustration.

40 games in, zero wins. This game is impossible to win short of getting lucky. Waste of money. We are a gamer our whole life, and have played multiple dice chuckers, this one is by far the hardest. It has potential, but forget about winning. We wasted our time and money so you dont have to.

Great game. True to the physical version.

This game had a great concept, but was frustrating in practice. Over and over, you end up with low-value dice going to waste because the board is full of high-value boxes that you cant fill. Granted, that waste is probably built into the design of the game, but for people with Completionist tendencies, it becomes infuriating and unfun after a while. Im sure others have loved it, but it fell short for us.

Black screen then crashes to Home Screen on our iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen, worked great before the newest update.

Game goes to a blank screen and eventually crashes back to Home Screen, since updating a couple days ago.

We lost everything and even re-install the game, still doesnt work. Nicely done with a update for more money and it doesnt work. Definitely worth every penny.

There are a lot of things to like about this game, but its too difficult, and its very time consuming. There is no balance. Pass on this game for something else.

Great implementation. Seems very true to the table top. Its a dice game so there are definitely times it gets frustrating when you get low dice rolls. Progression system is the way to go as the game is not easy.

:( Introduction pocture starts and after it it just crash everytime!

Losing one star since the developer has started placing ads for another of their games in this one. Not cool for a high priced premium game. Otherwise, we love this game. – This is truly one of the very best games on the app store. It is the most faithful reproduction of a physical games we have seen since Pandemic. Great work! Minor areas for improvement: music variation would be great. The soft "Puzzlequest-like" music seems rather calm for this game at times. We might enjoy a variety of themes that build with the excitement. Also, we’re not a fan of game promotions on the opening screen, but we get it. Overall, we are very pleased with the $25 we spent for game and expansions. Well done. We will continue to buy expansions (if they maintain this level of quality) as they are released. One feature request: it would be fun if we could name our characters. You could also have multiple instances of a single character class. Just our wish list.

Get ready to lose dozens and dozens of time, only to finally reach a boss thats impossible to beat, making you realize youll have to grind again and again and again, losing over over and over again, until you gain enough powers to beat the boss and by then youll have played 40-50 or 60 times, and have your FIRST win and tons of losses. Call it rogue or whatever… We’ve played more balanced rogue games that are much more rewarding than this game. This is WAY too much GRINDING!

We were expecting a card game with a name like that but its mostly dices and minimalistic character and UI design. The music is serviceable, resembling old dos game music if youre into that. For the price we would suggest looking elsewhere.

Top marks for user interface design. Games are short (and always auto-saved) and packed with interesting decisions. Plays in portrait mode, a big plus. More than worth the price!

We often play the physical game of odd and we bought this so we can play it on the go. Well worth the price.

App Store let us pay for this despite it not being compatible. Needs 10.0.

It took us a bit to understand the concept of this game. Once we figured out all the strategies of items, skills and potions we really enjoyed it. We do not like playing on our phone as the dice are at the very top of the screen though. When we try to move the dice we get the pull down notification screen which is frustrating. No clue how to fix it so we play on our ipad. The annoying dice resulted in a star loss!

This game has served us with countless hours of entertainment. Its well balanced, the game its unique and engaging. Highly recommended it and its hands down one of our favorite card game.

So glad to finally have an iPhone version, but the character advancement checkmarks dont sync from the iPad version. So you end up with two versions of the game as far as characters go. Its still a fun game and Im glad to have it on iPhone in a pinch. At least purchases sync on both devices. If character advancement could sync through game center, Id give it a five star review.

Love the tabletop version but it can get to be a bit of a pain. Takes up space and cards slide around. They did a great job porting a VERY portable game. We have had no crashing issues as of yet (18 plays so far). Its a dice chucker but there are plenty of ways to help mitigate the dice, just choose loot wisely. Would love to have an iPhone version and would even pay another $10 for it but when we inquired they just said, nope. Feel sorry for all those that will not get to experience this game. Dont get us wrong, this is a great game on tabletop and it makes a great game on tablet. Easier to play at any moment and to stop mid game. So how about it gang, get another $10 from us for iPhone version. Take our money, please. Thanks for response guys. Chomping at the bit for the iPhone version. Cant take our iPad with us everywhere. (By the way when we ask if you have an iPhone version and you say you have no plans for it at this time that pretty much means nope, but please prove us wrong and put us in our place for that assumption). Good job on the game.

This a a solid, playable game with both tactical & strategic depth. Go figure. Most enjoyable time spender.

You can have a fun solitaire round when using one or two heroes. Also, fun to team up with the kids, each playing their choice of hero.

This is quite a lot of fun as there is a bit of puzzle, bit of rpg and a little bit of luck. Really enjoying the game and playing way too much! Just one more round!

We own the board game and we LOVE the feeling of throwing those little colored dices.. We were a bit skeptical about the app but still we gave it a try… OH BOY!! The best transposition from a real game, together with Pandemic. Polished gorgeous graphic, smooth gaming experience, characters development.. Wonderful!

We love the analog version of this so decided to give this app a try. Its very similar to playing the card game, so its a winner in our book!

First things first, we own the physical version of the game. The interface takes a little getting used to, but is very well done. Why buy the app when we own the game? After the latest update, all crashes are gone. The game works magnificently. The only thing we would like to see, is a visual reminder of which dungeons we have completed. Other than that, all is good in the dungeon.

Its an enjoyable dice roll / placement game but it is over priced currently. This is more of a $5 game then $10. Other then that they need to work on the not so climatic dungeon endings, very drab!

App continues to crash and we can’t even customize characters because it crashes at the end of the game too. We are stuck with playing quick game feature because we can’t even open New game feature without it crashing. We find it very frustrating to play. We are hoping they fix the bugs soon or else it will be a waste of $20.

The original game is our go to when packing for a vacation. Now we get to play it while at work too. The interface is great. Only issue is it seems like the guile feat and bandages feat arent working properly. We would assume guile would be listed in the skills area but its not and we dont receive any healing when replacing a skill. Unless Im doing something wrong. Thanks.

We own the deck version and love it. Thought this might be a nice alternative for travel. The game is spot on when it works but it crashes when it loads, crashes if you win, and crashes if you play for more then five minutes. We’ve applied the recommendations of turning of animations but it doesn’t help. Sorry, we can’t recommend this game. Go by the cards, you’ll be much happier.

This is a great game and excellent for digital. We would like to play much more, except when we beat the dragon the app crashes and we are unable to use our hero progression rewards. We deleted the app and re-downloaded which only was a short fix until using a different character and it crashed again after boss victory. We eventually heard back from support, but suggestions and work around did not help. App is unplayable at this time.

After using hammersmash and discarding a die, if you tap undo you get the discarded die back. Also, if you use this after the archers eagle eye, eagle eye resets.

This replaces the physical version for us.

Solo games dont hold our interest for long usually! This is an exception. We’ve played about 20 runs now and have only played on Novice against the Dragon boss, and we could play another 20 under these same conditions, yet there is so much more to try. Great port of a creative game!

We now own this as a tabletop game, for Steam, and for iOS. While there are occasional bugs – it isnt correctly recording our scores, so we are 0-0 for all characters and dungeons – it is a blast to play. We hope they keep releasing more dungeons and characters!

This is one of the best ports of a tabletop game to digital format we’ve seen. We have and love the original game, and this tablet version is perfectly faithful. Initially these were crash issues as others have reported but the recent update fixed that, so no problems now. Super fun! We now hope they import the new expansion which gives more characters, bosses, and dungeons. Excellent job, everyone!

We own the board game and expansion. Love them but find the game a bit annoying with all the cards and dice and tracking of skills. The mobile app is fantastic! Tracks everything and lets us play the wonderful game. We love this app. We’ve played more than 20 games already and still have multiple characters left to run through all the bosses. There is some randomness, but skills and items help mitigate this. The more you play, the more youll find yourself finishing, and will realize that there is a tremendous amount of skill involved in terms of decision making for loot, dice usage, skills, etc. Everyone who enjoys board games or RPGs must buy this so that they will bring out the expansion!

Im a board gamer and generally prefer playing the physical copy of games but this is an excellent example of how a digital version can improve the overall experience of a game. Like their version of Sentinels of the Multiverse, they have created a system to manage all the tedious aspects of the game and free the player to simply have fun. No more slipping cards under other cards to track items, skills, spells, or XP. The game does that for you. No more trying to remember which item or skill is still available and/or appropriate at some critical time. The game highlights those that can be activated. No more forgetting what you have and havent done already. As long as you havent changed any values you can undo everything youve done. Then theres the gameplay itself. Each encounter and dice roll presents you with a tactical puzzle. How can you use your heroes items, skills, and spells to manipulate the dice and complete the challenge with the least damage and loss of time? When the light goes on and you see how you can escape unscathed its a very rewarding experience. As for character development we really appreciate that the enemies DO NOT scale as you improve your heroes abilities. Each dungeon gets a little bit easier as your characters grow. We dont want to overstate this as there are only a few abilities you can enhance and use at any given time but its enough to satisfy our old Dragon Quest itch. But dont worry about it getting too easy as you can choose four difficulty levels: novice, standard, veteran, and fearless. Im having plenty of fun on novice right now, thank you very much. Lastly, because iOS cost expectations have become terribly corrupted by people who seem to think developers should work for free and ask nothing for their games, this is a premium game and its worth every penny. Go to a movie for $10 and walk out 2 hours later or buy this game for $10 and lose hours a day to its engrossing gameplay. Well done, Handelabra! We own this and "Sentinels of the Multiverse". We look forward to your next game adaptation.

The game is fantastic, especially after the update. Lots of depth here with the various characters and progression. Tons of fun to play.

We were skeptical when we first encountered this game. How much strategy could there be in a single player game where youre just rolling a bunch of dice, right? Well, there is a lot of strategy in the decisions that you make as you progress through the game and even within a single encounter. You do get bad (really bad) rolls now and then that can ruin a game, but if youre careful and expect some bad luck you can usually avoid the worst results. We havent had any crashes or other serious problems on our Air 2. There does seem to be a problem with the random number generator, though. After about 1600 rolls the stats show that 1s are about 10% more likely than 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s; and 6s about 5% more frequent than 2-5. The stats have been consistently that way from the beginning, too. After 1600 rolls we would expect the frequency of each to be roughly equal (or at least to fluctuate over time), but that doesnt appear to be the case. This is a very good game and Im enjoying it quite a bit so far.

Post update the game is running great.

Though the dice can be brutal, One Deck Dungeon offers the kinds of challenges and choices that keep us coming back (in large part because it is not as time-consuming as other board or card games). This version is the latest gem from Handelabra, the team that brought us Sentinels of the Multiverse, which is phenomenal and has enjoyed years of continued support. Thanks, Handelabra, for another polished title that performs flawlessly. These are the iOS developers that we should support. Now, when can we expect the update that brings iPhone X support?

One Deck Dungeon (ODD) is a super-fun game! Its a dungeon crawl in which you play 1 or 2 heroes exploring a randomly drawn set of monsters and obstacles on your way to fighting a variety of bosses. The game cleverly scales itself to get harder if you play with multiple characters at once and as you go deeper into each dungeon, so its always a good challenge and you really get a feeling of accomplishment when you beat a dungeon. You also have the option of gaining experience points for your heroes that you can carry from game to game. We’ve played the original card and dice game this is based on and was happy to purchase it again for the iPad so we can take it with us and have the tablet run the game. Big thumbs up to ODD, A+++++!

The table top version rocks, and the app is convenient for when tossing dice doesnt make sense (planes… Trains…. Automobiles) and its also a great way to learn the game!
