Update 8-6-2019: we paid the 1.99 to remove ads, but we think we had already paid it before. It seems the app will let you purchase it over and over, so dont do that. Also, we still see adds under games and between games. Restore purchases does nothing. Still like the app, but this is kind of disappointing. Original review: If you want to finally find a use for all that stored up knowledge about middle earth besides boring your friends or hoping you run into Stephen Colbert somewhere, this is it. As an example of the depth of lore and also question for the developer: If youre going to include (and rightly so) that Saruman forged a ring of power, shouldnt you include that in the sum of rings of power question? We liked the app before, but the new design makes it even better.
Love this game. But as an English teacher we were sorry to see the announcement You Loose instead of You Lose. Fun none the less.

Theres a bug with one of the characters that you unlock it says win a battle for Rohan and hell give u his horse and sword but we’ve won many battles for Rohan and we still dont have him its the only character we dont have please fix itt.
We really enjoy the progression of difficulty. At first, we didnt use the cheats, but now we love them and use them to learn things. This has inspired us to read all the books again!

We love LOtR, this trivia is perfect for us to test our knowledge!!! We wish there were more questions though we love how the game is set up, how you can fight the battles and unlock people to help you fight. This is a really awesome game. A certain question asks where do the hobbits go after Bree? The answer is Rivendell, but is should be weather top, at least for the movies because thats when the Frodo got stabbed and then they went to Rivendell to get help from Elrond to heal Frodo. So far we love testing our knowledge of Lord of the Rings. Im currently reading the series right now so it’s fun to test our knowledge of what we remember from the movies and learning now as we read it. We would give 5 stars but for some reason if we get a question wrong it exits us out of the app completely? Not sure this is supposed to happen but other than that we love it!
We find this Game to be inaccurate. It was better before your update.
Good but some of the questions have spelling and grammar mistakes. Also, it desperately needs a way to correct some questions that are actually wrong. Example: What happens to Gimlis axe as he tries to destroy the One Ring? The real answer is Nothing because he didnt use his axe, he used Gloins.
Likes to crash every few seconds.
The game is fun, and overall has a good interface. The main problems are all the typos and wrong answers! Please do a spellcheck on some basic words. Also, and in-app feedback button about specific questions would allow the players to offer corrections and suggestions!
We have run into questions that we know we answered correctly but the app say we answered incorrectly. The app keeps marking us down.

We were excited to download this but there is a bug that wont let us in. It downloads fine but it auto closes after 1 second after open ing. Let us know if you fix it please!!!
App has not been updated in 5 years. It wont even open for us to even try it out. Crashes every time. Tried deleting and reinstalling still doesn’t work. To bad looks like it was good way back when.
Abysmal. Whoever wrote these questions needs to read the books again, and pay closer attention. And movie trivia shouldnt used at all. Peter Jackson didnt create Middle Earth; he ruined it.

As a LotR nerd, Im sure itd be a great app, content-wise. However, theres the small issue that its impossible to open and Im pretty positive it isnt an issue with our phone. If you could fix the issue that kicks us out of the app Id be happy to actually use the app and correct our app. Thank you.
We are having the same problem as others. It downloads, but then crashes after one second. Im hoping this gets fixed soon.
Same as eve try one recently. It wont open up and the devs seem to have abandoned it so there is no support to fix the issue. We have an iPhone 14.
We should preface this by saying we were really excited when we found this app! We love LOTR and really wanted to test our knowledge against the app. That being said, after we downloaded the app we would try to open the app, after which the app would immediately and automatically close. Four times. We uninstalled and reinstalled the app FOUR TIMES!!! We’ve got an iPhone 12 and this is so frustrating! We would love to change our review if this issue can be fixed and we can actually use the app!
The app keeps crashing and then you have to start over.
Literally unplayable, it loads for less than half a second and closes itself immediately.
Downloaded this. And it wont load. Just shuts down, every single time. Have downloaded, deleted and redownloaded. Wont change.

We cant even play a single game since when we try to get in it just kicks us out of the app and we cant play it no matter what.
We love this game we are like the biggest fan ever! Our favorite character Frodo! We know a lot now about lord of the rings. But we haven’t watched (read) the hobbit yet we don’t know the answers to the hobbit question, but our favorite game by far!
Great game good questions. We’re hoping to see more questions in the future. Plus we love the rank system with the little facts.
This is probably not very good for people who only watched the movie, or only read the books, because this switches between both questions and we recommend that you read the books and watch the movie. And for back-up… Read the slimarillion. The silmarillion about the beginning of Tolkien’s world and many of the questions are about it. We mean how are you supposed to know what Arda is. As we read the book we understood the questions better. And we think some of the questions are from the appendix of some books. Because it only says that Legolas and Gimli sailed west when Aragorn died in the appendix. And some questions have bad spelling and grammar. But overall this is a pretty fun game and is any Tolkien fan will enjoy it.
We are not one to write a review, but we were attracted to this application because we wished to test our LotR knowledge. We had hopes that this would provides us with a questions about the intricacies of Tolkien’s trilogy, but we were sadly not impressed. This program has potential to be the greatest of LotRs trivia apps, but there are multiple things that need to be addressed before then. 1) If the answer is longer than a few words, the text does not fit inside the answer box. 2) Create a system to specify if tge question is pertaining to the books or the movies. 3) Verify the answers of the questions. We attempted the campaign multiple times, but we found many of the answers incorrect. 4) Possibly create a way for the user to change the difficulty of the questions. The questions we answered could have been better written and and encompassed more of the lore behind the trilogy. Thank you developers for this app. We did enjoy it, but we cannot see it becoming popular without making the above changes. Thank you!
We were initially attracted by the interesting looks, but some things about the app eventually made us have to uninstall. First, many of the answers are flat out wrong. Secondly, the questions flip-flop from asking from the perspective of the books and then from the movies, inevitably causing a few contradictions since events vary between each. There are also a few questions mistakenly written with a negative (e.g. "Whom did not go here?" When the answer is for, "Whom did go here?"). Lastly, it takes too long from the moment you select the answer to know if you got it right or wrong and then move to the next. This drags out the suspense a little too much for our taste making it a bit boring after a 10-15 question streak. Hopefully this app gets some loving from its creator/s because this could be a really great trivia app for arguably the very best fantasy verse ever created.
This game has some questions that are way easy (ex: who was the ring bearer) and some that are way hard. If your a super nerd, you wouldnt like it because of the easy questions, but if you just like LOTR, some questions will be too hard and youll end up having to guess. We like that you can reach different ranks, so that part is good. Also, the answers to some questions are wrong.
We’ve gotten several questions where the answers it said was right, was actually wrong. Whoever made this doesn’t know much about The Lord of the Rings.
To whoever is learned about Middle-Earth and Tolkien’s world: Do Not Download… (Mistakes, wrong words "cahadras", vocab faults….) 1 star, the questions are silly enough.
This app looked fun because what Lord of the Rings fan doesnt love trivia? After playing it for a few days, and perpetually getting answers wrong that we knew were right, we’ve uninstalled it. We mean, really? Hobbits do not eat 7 meals a day. They eat 6; Tolkien only ever wrote about six meals a day (reference the prologue to The Fellowship of the Rings). This app also engages in egregious grammatical errors, which were easily dismissed the first few times we saw them. However, after every other question started showing up with errors, we really got annoyed. Dont waste your time with this.
Love this app…. Read some of the books and own all the movies and it still keeps be guessing on some questions. It encourages us to educate myself more on the whole Tolkien "middle earth " world! The questions are authentic and challenging!! Very addicting!!

Game game with many great questions.
You would need to of read the books for some of the questions. It’s challenging and enjoyable.
It starts off fairly simple but the last few questions of the campaign mode is quite challenging. We love it!
With the new updates, this game just gets better and better.
We’ve only watched the movies and never read the books so half the questions we couldn’t possibly know. There needs to be three different areas of trivia questions. The first would be movie trivia, the second would be book trivia, and the third would be a mix of both book and movie trivia. Add that option and we’ll give 5 stars.
We really like the game but since we have not read The Silmarillion, we have to guess on some. The mixing of Films vs. Books questions really tests your skill on two levels. Some of the details are a little off, but overall… It’s fun.
The game is okay, but it needs some work, a lot of the questions have double answers listed so it messes you up, other than that, a fun challenge.
We’re a huge Tolkien fan even reading The Simerrillian and we even learn some neat things. All together great! Though we love the books more so some questions related to the movie frustrate us as the book is way different though normally you can tell which is movie or book related.
