So we’re going to keep it if you update the game and fix the glitch we have. When we go on the game, it keeps loading game center "the forever loading screen" and when we try to start an online match, "requires internet connection." we really like the game and we’ve been a fan for quite a while. Pls fix. :) great game

A fun, addicting, strategic game.

We love turn based strategy games and Outwitters is no exception. We love the upbeat feel of the game (especially the music) and the gameplay is great, but the only thing we wish they would do is add more teams. The game has had the same 4 teams for a while, and they start to feel repetitive after a while. But other than that one minor detail, this game is amazing!

Great gameplay! Only wish there wasn’t a game limit for free download or make an option to purchase a game extension to the 20 games for .99 instead of $4 as the minimum to unlock more gameplay, otherwise love it!

This game is very simple to get into, yet oh so deep in the top end. Moves smoothly, graphics are simple, yet charmingly appropriate. The game starts with one unit-set, and gives you the opportunity to purchase 3 more as an in-app bundle. We would highly recommend doing so, as your units not only receive a cool skin makeover, but it also adds 3 new signature units that could add multitudes of different ways to play strategically. We play on an iPad 2, don’t know how well the app works on the phone, but it is a stunning example of how the technology of a tablet should be utilized for gaming. Why this is a free app with no ads, we will probably never understand. It would be well worth spending $5. The only issue we have with the game is there is no true 1 player mode, no AI you can tune up against. The game does, however, offer a great competitive system to find comparably skilled adversaries, and a pass n play mode that you can play locally with a friend.

Its simple rules and engaging maps make this a true diamond in the rough. There are endless permutations to very simple strategies. We recommend this game to anyone. As an aside, if anyone who has made an in app purchase has advertising in between turns, simply go to the outwitters store icon while in the app and scroll down until you see "restore purchases" and tap the icon. The problem should be resolved after that. Enjoy!

Very well made game, in-game purchases make it more interesting but not uncompetitive. We like it. :)

Everything is fantastic and we’ve been playing this game for a while but we’ve also been waiting for a character release sometime soon. Could you please make it happen?

This is our favorite game on iPad… Have made new friends on chat… Keep it goin.

Pay the $1.99 for a alternate HQ theme and 20 game limit expansion if you like the game but can’t stand the wait on just 3 games. This game is so easy to pick up and play, but many layers of strategy become more apparent the more you play. With an awesome match making and leaderboard setup, it never feels like you’re playing a vastly superior opponent, while still showing you how you stack up against the competition. Great gameplay, great matchmaking, great strategy game!

This game is awesome it takes a little bit to get the hang of it if you friends u wanna play with have already started but lots of fun.

This game keeps on crashing. On average 4 time per turn. Clicking the spawn makes it crash 4/5 times and the "game" bottom should be renamed "crash" bottom because that is all it does on our device. At time doing nothing makes it crash and close too. When the game crashes sometimes it forgets/resets the previous move and thereby defeats the fog of war. 2 weeks ago our profile got reset and we went from Master League to Unranked. This was revoked 5 days later by the support. We got the newest update and this game need a serious update to fix the above mentioned problems. Such a shame because it is a brilliant game.

By far the best game, of any sort, we’ve found so far. It’s just you matched against people of equal skill for as long as you want play. You can start for free, and if you’re good, nothing to stop you from going all the way to the top. You almost can’t spend money on this game – we think if you bought everything they offered, you might spend $15..? And that only gives you variety of play, it doesn’t actually give you a real advantage, so if you don’t want to spend anything, you don’t have to. Also, the community behind this game is awesome – very active forum, lots of player initiated tournaments, helpful tips from the advanced players (someone even wrote a very detailed strategy guide for all the different game maps). It’s mildly glitchy since the last major overhaul, but the developers are very responsive and it runs pretty smoothly overall now. All in all, a fantastic game for strategy nerds.

Simply fantastic. 3 years we’ve been playing this game everyday.

This is the best game ever! Lots of fun and hard to put down.

One of our favs over last few years. Would like some new boards. Maybe new characters too! Get it.

Don’t be fooled by the cutesy graphics. This is a terrifically balanced, turn based war game. Play is asynchronous, games run 10 to 30 turns. Strong community of players. This gets our vote for best game of this type/scale on iOS.

Great game but the last update is finicky. We were moving the board around on iPhone 5c, and the game hesitated then assumed we were done and sent our moves. Except we hadn’t made a move yet.

A touch simple but solid turn based strategy.

Love this game. Tons of fun. Deeper strategy than it initially appears. Wish the four factions were more unique but other than that we have only positive things to say about this game.

We really like the game, but think you should not have to wait more than 24 hours before your opponent forfeits. If (s)he can’t play a full game within 24 hours they shouldn’t start, the game should be forfeited. We routinely run into opponents that keep us waiting for the forfeiture to occur, meaning we can’t play.

We absolutely love this game. Great concept, great strategy, upbeat music, all good stuff. The only huge issue we have is with the surrendering in 2v2. We can’t count the times we have lost league points because our random partner decides they don’t want to play the match anymore 2 turns in. Implementing a system where only the teammate who surrenders the match loses points would be a godsend and finally let some of us break free of the lower leagues.

We LOVE this game and have for years. Our suggestion would be to allow you to see any games you’ve declined. With the newest app we’ve noticed it’s much easier to accidentally decline a game you’ve been invited to because of how sensitive the touch is to watch a repeat, decline etc.

Adorable little strategy game with a few annoyances. One is that you can only pay games unless you pay a minimal of $2 to buy something in the shop. Honestly not a bad deal since you can just buy another race. Another thing is that it takes forever for people to respond and can make you wait hours or even days before you can go again.

We have been playing this game for months, and we still haven’t tired of it in the least. As a pure strategy game, there is almost no luck involved. We win or lose based on skill and cunning. The "fog of war" element really adds to the tension. The cartoonish aspect of the graphics should not be taken to mean that this is a child’s game. It is a rich, complex experience.

Great fun app! I’d give it a 4.5 if we could, but 4 will have to do. The one thing we wish they could add is an Undo button to undo your last move. We do something stupid so many times and am really annoyed that we can’t redo it. Other than that, great game! And even if you don’t want a game, I’d recommend this app for its music :P (so darn catchy!)

Good turn based game. We bought a character pack to allow us to play up to 20 games and remove ads. Unfortunately it still only allows us to play 3 games. Please fix this, the game itself deserves 5 stars.

We like the game it is fun but it is either our phone or the game because it crashes a loy.

Good game, just needs balancing. Too much incentive to sit back with the brain and wait to be attacked. Bramble can’t attack the base? That doesn’t make sense or fit with the game. Could have been the best game in App Store.

Could you please add the ability to challenge your game enter friends? We think to do this you need to add achievements. Just add a single achievement for "challenge friend to game". Seriously!

Only three free games? And your expect payment on any more games? It’s a zero sum game when it comes to committed opponents, and results in a zero sum game for repeat players and customers. The benefit of repeat players for the game play is not a stable equation. For all the effort into the game it is obvious that no one with a slight mathematical background was involved in this games development, otherwise they would have considered what would draw continuous play into it. Shame.

The current May 9 version is crash prone. DO NOT UPDATE if you haven’t yet. The "memory improvements" cause horrible graphics glitches, outright crashes and jerky use. IPad Air 2 is the most unstable with this app. Once the current build gets pulled or fixed, we expect a return to 5 star reviews. —- The game itself would be fun to play with paper and pieces, but having it programmed makes it even better. The gameplay is simple, but challenging. The casual games are fun and the leagues offer a very nice challenge of you care to work your way up to the top. Downside is it crashes often, which doesn’t harm your game, but it does hamper the fun. It also chews through your battery. We wish for a power saving mode to reduce the GPU/CPU load as the game runs full blast all the time. Beautiful craft is shown in the art, music and the programming. Great replay value and you don’t need to spend any money to have fun with several games in the air at the same time. In app purchase makes the game better, but you don’t need to spend anything to have a great time. (And we’re an IAP grouch when you can’t enjoy a game without paying – the extra boards and pieces are well worth the cost to me).

Played this game for well over three years, can say one of the best turn-based strat games we’ve played. However, the update makes movement VERY jerky, animation sudden and quick, and the text a weird font. Gameplay was always smooth before this update, but our phone (i5) cant handle the new stuff, like how when you click on something, the surrounding spaces light up gradually, as opposed to all at once with the old version. You’ll see what we mean. Also, we accidentally uninstalled our app, and lost our purchases. Restore purchases doesnt work anymore; we did it before on older version. We are HIGHLY disappointed. Plus the prices for the teams is jacked up far too much. Used to be like 1.99 or 2.99 per team, now its 3.99. The 7.99 uber package is nice, but its still too rich for our blood and for a single app. Developers, we definitely applaud you for this game concept. But having studied some economics and looked at some other game app prices, this is too high; the demand will not be met. Drop individual teams down to 1.99, uber package to 4.99. Or alternatively, keep the same price for uber package and throw in all the extras (game limit, maps, bases, etc). You’ll earn less per purchase, but you’ll have more purchases in the long run, meaning your total revenue will increase. The ingame purchases are elastic; the revenue you make is highly dependent on price. Total revenue increases as price decreases for an elastic product, so lower the price in accordance to the basic principles of microeconomics. We support you guys before, all the way until this point. We might buy the uber package, but we will wait possibly months to see if you guys send us an email about us about our proposal, or for an app update; either or. Developers, we await some changes. The last version, or at least the one we had b4 (I dont update apps often) was the perfect version. Please change it. Im also voicing the opinion of many other players that we have played with; they essentially agree with us.

This game is more waiting than playing. Especially if you have it completely free, which leads us to our next problem. To get anything cool at all you need to pay. The is a pay to play game that makes you pay over and over again. You want to look different? Too bad, you need to pay 4 dollars first. Also, the update made it even worse and it crashes after every turn we do. Also, we hate that if you want to play more games with your friend or anything like that if you have just started and already made three match, your done. You have to wait till it’s over which takes awhile. We would definitely not suggest this game.

Outwitters is an awesome strategy turn-based app game… But the latest version keeps frequently crashing and sometimes doesn’t connect online to the Game Center which hinders you from playing. Very disappointing.

Best turn-based mobile game in existence (x-com included). We hope One Man Left expands it soon.

Great game An app that we’ve enjoyed for almost 2 years. A multi-move chess game with 2-player or 4-player gameplay options. Waiting for expansion maps, or teams, but not holding our breath. Love the game regardless.

We normally don’t write reviews, this is probably the second one we’ve written. We have had this game on our phone since the beginning, and although we stopped playing for awhile it still retains its fun and intellectual gameplay. Love the game, we hope you guys are able to keep it going!

If you’re looking for a quick and deep multiplayer strategy game on your iPhone/iPad then download this game now! They don’t push hard for you to buy anything, so it truly is free. However, if you’re going to support any developer making games on the App Store it should be this one. Support them if you can, otherwise just enjoy this amazing experience!

One of the best games we have played!!! This game is both strategic and fun. We can’t get enough!!! Way to go guys. GA Tech has some great engineers!!!

We just wish it was more popular.

Relaxing to play. Challenging to master. Ranked gifted right now and trying to get into master ranks. You should try and play today.

We absolutely love this game, and so do several of our friends. Great strategy game with a fun ranking system. Plus you can’t pay to win, thank goodness.

We get frustrated with the plethora of crappy mobile games in the App Store. Here’s the problem. One of two things happens. Either the game is just low budget and crappy, or developers try too hard to create a console experience on a mobile device and it just doesn’t work. This game understands that and is the perfect example of what it means to have a great mobile gaming experience, to include the facts that all games are played against real players, and due to its turn based nature can be played on the fly with one turn taking as little as a minute. And it’s free!!! The game itself is a simple turn based strategy with a fun goofy theme. It plays smooth. Our only complaint if any would be that each faction/theme doesn’t quite play with the same advantage despite equal point costs. But this is minor as it may just be that some factions just require more practice than we have invested in them to perfect their abilities. In our opinion, this game would be in the running for one of the best games on a mobile device.

Worked until recently, now constantly crashes. Often freezes when opening games. One man left provides subpar support.
