Community Insight:

Be prepared to be sucked into the action as Adventurer.

Lovely game really; you just have to immerse yourself with the words. We hope they add more modes of storylines.

It has replay value, it is easy to start to, and it is entertaining. We highly recommend it.

Little bit harder than DND But still very fun.

We enjoy difficult games, and ones that feel like a choose your own adventure. You still feel some control even though the game is similar outcomes at least in the first difficulty. So we think it is neat, and no ad walls so makes this a top game.

We enjoy all of the game modes and still go back to the easier ones when Im bored because the adventure still surprises us with the options. We also like the creativity with the interactions with the environment. This game is solely text so dont be bummed if you dont see pictures. It would be super cool to see that in the future.

Fortune favors the bold with this game but also punishes completionist behavior. As an adventurer, you have to weigh the risks versus rewards as well as pick and choose your battles in order to hope to survive. RNG plays heavily in your chances and sometimes just one mistake can ruin a perfectly good run. A fun game that scratches a certain itch, with just the right balance between frustration and satisfaction. The pay to win mechanic is akin to the choose your adventure books of old where you see an outcome and can go back to make a different choice in hopes to get a better result, but starting a new run is part of the playability. Of course, if you want to support the creator, grabbing a few undos or a resurrection here and there doesnt ruin the game completely (unless youre a wallet warrior and beat all runs in 30 minutes).

Truly engaging and interactive. Great game all around.

Ive been playing PoA on and off for the past decade across multiple devices, and we can say with 100% certainty that we highly recommend this game. That being said we think we might be unclear as to how grow mushrooms(GM) work. We were at 4HP, used a GM, but instead of leveling up and then subtracting the HP cost, the GM brought our HP to exactly 0, then said to choose a stat to level and read us our obituary.

We really like this game. It has a nice balance of text & visual flavor. The story is excellent too. The only thing is: there is no sound. We have an iPhone 15 plus. Ive re-installed the game, restarted our phone. Still no sound. Help.

Story is enjoyable and funny with its quips. Controls are easy, and its free as long as you take one chapter at a time. Would play again.

Super fun, you can replay it a bunch of times and do better each time with more knowledge. Love that we could play this off-line when camping.

You will keep coming back to this game. Great and subtle design.

Many hours of our life lost on the harder levels. Worth it.

Path of Adventure is a fun text based adventure game that is simple enough to learn, but hard to master. The game has you adventuring down a 50-segment path where various random events will occur. You will fight enemies, explore dungeons, collect treasure, and complete challenges. Each time you restart the game, youll get new events on the path, so you have to prepare for anything. The game has 6 different difficulties (not including the tutorial) that each feature a different character and provide the player with new starting equipment and stats. Dont expect to finish the adventure on your first try, even on the easiest difficulty, because the name of the game is making mistakes and learning from them. There are a variety of traps and enemies that you encounter along the way, and certain characters are better suited for situations than others. Experiencing them for yourself is basically the best way to learn how to develop strategies. The first 2 difficulties are a decent challenge, but after that, the game really throws all of its weight at you. We were able to beat the game on all 6 difficulties, but even then, we have to admit that we only got that far because we kept notes on the enemies in the game and referred to them throughout our sessions. We did have fun doing it, but we know not everyone will. There is also a feature where you can revive yourself if you get a game over by paying a dollar, but even then, we think that is only really worth it during the final boss when you know with absolutely certainty victory is assured, because typically when you get a game over, its because you are ill-prepared. You can also undo actions and go back down the path, but you only get 5 undos upon download, and after that you have to pay, so use them wisely. Unless you plan on spending more than a dollar on winning, youre going to try again and again, which we can see some people getting frustrated over. (But with that said, this game has ZERO ADS, so chipping the developer a dollar is a nice way to show gratitude for their great work.) Nevertheless, we think the first 2 characters, the rogue and the warrior, almost anyone can enjoy without paying or too much frustration. There are two critiques that we would like to mention though. The first being the aforementioned difficulty. We were able to beat the first 5 characters without paying, but we have to admit that luck was heavily influencing our chances of victory at times, especially on the thief. We often found ourselves restarting the adventure just so Id start with the equipment we preferred, the optimal first enemy, and more preferable end boss. And once again, it also required extensive knowledge of the game and trial and error. We did manage to finally beat the final class, the ring-bearer, after many attempts, but it was ridiculously difficult, and we did have to pay for a revival at the very end. (Also as a somewhat related topic, we found the mage to be slightly easier than the assassin, but you have to finish the game as the assassin before you unlock the mage. It may have just been luck, but it took us far fewer attempts to beat. But we cant say for sure which was harder.) The second thing is that the story is the same for each character aside from the final boss. We suppose this isnt too bad since the gameplay is the main focus, but we think a little diversity could have been welcome. Maybe if the overall structure of the path was kept the same, (in that you could still meet a merchant, fight bosses, and enter caves if certain requirements are met on certain days), but the overall narrative was different (if the end location was different for each character, for example), we think the game could have a bit more enjoyment on replaying it, which would help cope with the difficulty. In the end though, its still a great game that we would give 5/5 stars. It has a simple gameplay format that is addicting enough to make you want to get better at it. And there is nothing more satisfying than making all the right choices and ripping through the final boss after trying a difficulty again and again. It is tough, but some people, (ourselves included) love being challenged. And even if you dont, Id still recommend trying first two characters: the rogue and the warrior. Overall its a great, fun game with a lot of personality and thought put into it.

First of all, Id like to say we really love the game! Buuuuuut.. Theres this bug where if your inventory is full of weapons, you cant use your fist to attack anymore. Even if you have a knuckle duster and other stuff to make your fist do more than enough damage to go through the defense. This is really annoying when Im fighting elemental demons which take away the weapon that killed them, and if the weapon we used to kill them was a stat boosting weapon Im kind of forced to give it away. Other than that, we love the game! Im on the ring of stealth difficulty and hope by the time we finish all the difficulties youll revamp the game or make a new one! Fingers crossed.

This game has come in clutch on car rides with the family. We hope its able to be expanded on with another storyline and maybe even some form of multiplayer.

We first downloaded this game around 2 years ago we believe because we were interested in finding interactive fiction games and this one peaked our interest since it reminded us of DND which we havent had the chance to play yet. This game is so fun to play when theres no signal, or if you just want to pass time, or even if you want a game to play when your bored of the others! We also LOVE the thrill we get when we finally have a good run. It only makes us want to keep playing. Even when we fail, the idea that Im the next one we could be close to victory motivates us to keep trying! In general this game is great to play if you love DND or RPG type of games but want something of low storage thats simple yet complex enough to keep your attention. We still have the game on our phone to this day and Im never removing it. We started playing the game more recently again and we ended getting lucky on warrior mode and won very quickly! Now our next goal is to beat assassin mode, and we WILL achieve victory! And will continue to achieve victory for all of the other modes! 5 stars is very deserved, definitely would recommend this game ^^.

We love this game so much and its one of our go to games but it just needs more content.

Totally worth it – terrific and lots of fun.

We love this game it has great vibes and great humor and lots of great of details but we were wondering if someone could add more details like more game modes and weapons, artifacts, and dungeons when we play we always get duplicates and we were wondering if it could always be something new on the adventure ( like in the same one you play a new one could repeat).

We like the game its easy to learn but difficult to master. Ive beaten all the classes.

New and very fun with we had more options.

We love picking this up from time to time. Hard but doesnt get old.

This game is enjoyable! Fun text based RPG with a definitive ending that loops ( in a good way). The fighting is our favorite part. Good mix of strategy and chance. Im still on the easy level, but once you get used to the rhythm of the game it is exciting trying to plan for the next baddie. A good variety of loot/monsters keeps it interesting.

Even tho, we cant always "escape" "Death" ,, had 2 // gotta gyv it a Five* ,, prettii entertaining AMEN.

Ive played a lot of games like this. Some you need to pay for. Some are well done, some are terrible. But this one is really really good. We mean that. The game play does get a bit repetitive after the first few games, but its still so fun to play. The difficulty does increase so its a challenge, the visuals given by the words are great, the vibes of the game are great, and the way its done is just really good. We would def recommend its the kind of game you can have for years and be obsessed with then forget about and then rediscover over and over again cause Ive had it going on three years now. We never write reviews, but this one deserved it. Happy playing.

This game is elite for real , everyone tap in and give it a try.

Ive had a blast playing this game its a great text based game gives us those old school retro games and keeps engaged and wanting to beat each hero. The only downside is most of the text is repetitive so once youve went through a couple times youve seen all the text but it does a great job highlighting the important things so you dont have to read everything all over every time. All in all great game love thats its free you dont have to spend a dime on the game unless you want to really refreshing to see a game this hood and without ads every 10 seconds well done by the developers.

You can tell that the game creators put thought into it because we dont even like text adventures and this is our favorite game in general. Its extremely entertaining and engaging and really cool story. Plus there are some pretty funny references. JUST try it its the best. Also TO THE CREATOR maybe add a different new structure to every level. The only reason we say this is because the only thing wrong with this game is the need of diversity to the levels. Small changes would make all the difference. Maybe even one boss being replaced by another to each level. Also THIS GAME HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL PLEASE WORK ON IT. Infinity mode sounds amazing to so yah.

Kinda depends on rng but mostly good.

Ive been enjoying the game for about 2 years now but we would love it if there were some updates, an endless mode, a free play mode or even a God mode just for the fun of it, Ive got no issues really with gameplay or any other function, would just love newer modes to play.

We were looking for a game that played like DND and thats how we found this game, ngl its a fun game when youre bored at work or in a meeting but it temporarily fills that DND void we were looking for.

Ive been going back to this game over a number of years. Stimulating enough for a high replay value.

Amazing game overall, fun, very challenging, and easy to play whenever. Only thing we would suggest is having a little more art or life to the game. We understand its a text based adventure but just a little more life and detail would go a long way. This is only our preference and we still feel this game is great.

This is the best game although we want there to be more updates and a lot of modes to choose from each one more difficult than the first. Also we want new enemies, slimeBat, it has 3 life and 1-3 attack 0 defense and -2 speed, Stone dragon, it has 38 life on roage, 43 life on worier and 49 life on assason, huge rat, it hass 9 life on roege, 10 life ohn worrier, and 13 life on assasion, it can cast the following spells, summon rats summon 1-5 rats to the battle, tschak, summon a bule flash of lightning to its enemy dealing damage based the enemies attack and speed.

Very fun rogue rpg text adventure where your choices matter.

We like playing this when we have to wait around or am not at home gaming on our pc. Sometimes we get so into it we play at home too. Lol.

Not a lot of bells and whistles but we find ourselves addicted to this game and we are not sure why. Definitely entertaining.

This game has so much to potential. With developments in AI and software Im sure the game could become an interesting D&D style game. As the devs secure more funding consider how fun ever changing scenarios and decision making events change the course of the game. Ive spent a few bucks on the undo feature which is a great idea. We look forward to updates in the future.

First time on a game like this and we are having a good time with it.

We dont review games.. We either play them or we dont. But this one, its simple, its fun, its just random enough that we keep trying again and again lol days of fun so far.

Tons of replayability and just so fun.

The difficulty curve and Rng really increases as you continue, but it would be cool if you could at least carry over your money from your last adventure to balance the rng and give modes more replay value. And just more content.

This is a really fun game and very difficult.

It is a game that definitely provides a challenge as you progress through the difficulty levels. All in all great game and a cool concept.

We play this when we have our phone in airplane mode for long periods of time. We've gotten all the way to Ring Bearer (literally awful btw) and we've had a lot of fun. We like the different classes and how it changes the way you play. We also understand some seeds are just straight better than others but it has good replay ability. This game is an easy 5 stars as it has a great text adventure with decent amount of challenge and strategy.

Its a great game honestly just please make the redos 5 times a day refillable n expand the mechanics of the game and it will surpass many D&D type games keep up the good work.

This is definitely one that is a little more niche but Its definitely worth a shot. For a turned based text rpg it has some difficulty and interesting ways of engagement. We also appreciate that the only inn app purchase is the resurrection to many games have fallen into having to use the micro transactions to progress and here it is an option but it doesnt guaranty success and thats 10/10.

Just all in all a good and fun game.
