What Makes PiyoShogi Stand Out
It is a Shogi app to play with cute "chick". Cute but AI is serious.
Not only play the game with AI, but also the game against two people as a shogi board, the review function after the game and the game record management function are also substantial.

The title says it all. Get this and Crossfield Tsumeshogi app and you have a good foundation for learning the game.
Very cute and we love the sounds and animation and we see that there is an ad free version but it is a monthly fee. Pls make a paid version (maybe $10) and Ill pay for it.
Good game and new update crashes when open.
It is a good game except the Lance and the Rook swapped so there are now two Lances on the far bottom left and right and one rook where the Lance is supposed to be.
We love this app and greatly appreciate that the developers allow it to run on Apple Silicon Macs. We analyze and review games with PiyoShogi on our Mac but also can use the app on iPhone while away from home. Future updates we would love to see: Allow more CPUs for game analysis. Macs can utilize a lot more than 2. Share the game record list across all devices. Add more tsumeshogi problems! Online play, perhaps as a lishogi client? Thank you for the great app and for letting us turn off ads! We look forward to seeing how PiyoShogi grows.
At the bottom of the settings tab it says you can change the language by choosing the language that you want and then restarting the app to change it. We restarted it and nothing happened.

Love this app. Very cute and helpful. Easy to learn. But the ads are super annoying. We would pay for a paid version to eliminate the ads.

Ive tried many mobile apps for offline shogi, and we can confidently say that PiyoShogi is the best. PiyoShogi allows you to play against a wide variety of CPU opponents, with a range of different opening strategies and time controls. You can also play rated games to track your current level of play. This app shines most when it comes to kifu analysis. You can easily paste kifu from the clipboard on the main screen. You can also pull Shogi Wars kifu using the Wars Record button. The new daily mate problem feature is also excellent. Other apps will force you to find the shortest mate, but PiyoShogi allows you to find any mate against its strongest CPU. You can later go back and find faster mates. Overall, Im very satisfied with PiyoShogi and Im glad to see that its still under active development. Highly recommended.
Everything within the app is very good, including multiple piece design options and MANY levels of AI that will suit anybody, the option to play with time or without, (limited) hints and redos, rated games vs AI and a system of kyu/dan ranks, game analysis and opening moves tips.. Very good app overall! Our only request is – could you add the typical shogi piece sounds? We love the sound of shogi pieces hitting the board and this app would be much better with them.
Excellent app as people have stated.many features and fair AI. We do have two requests for the developer though. 1) although much of the app is translated to English, the kifu is not. Can that be translated too using standard international notation? 2) can we have a piece set for Hidetchi's internationalized pieces.
Have been practicing shogi with this app for past two weeks or so. Unlike other shogi AIs (e.g. That in shogi wars' practice matches) these piyo AIs manage to be not too strong nor stupid.
