Explore and discover the secrets of an ever-changing castle. Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be colorblind, another might have vertigo– they could even be a dwarf.

Features:

· A procedurally generated adventure. Explore new castles with every life.

· Rogue-lite. Your character dies, but with each passing your lineage grows and becomes stronger.

Rogue Legacy Reviews

Thank you for this game well worth 3.99.

We had to write a new review as we were quick to judge at first. Once you upgrade a bit this game is super fun! It takes a minute. We hope to see rogue legacy two on here please!!!

We love this game bought it a second time just to have mobile… We really think it needs more options for the controls such as a "d-pad" and multiple preset button configuration maybe a defined dash button option realy want static d pad tho.

Cannot play with any controller even though its advertised as being able to have controller support. Lets fix this team! This is a favorite game of mine.

There is no controller support. This is an incredibly addicting and fun game that deserves high praise but we struggle to play it on our iPad with the touch controls. We have really tried- but the thrill of dungeon crawling is completely washed away by the clumsiness of touch controls. Cellar door: we kindly ask for controller support on iPad Pro! Please and thank you.

Missing Made for iOS Bluetooth controller support makes this a no go.

One of the most engaged and responsive developers on the platform. Thanks for the continued support! 01-23-2020 update: Just gifted another copy to a user on an older device. Thank you, TheSpydog, for the continued support, which, in turn, contributes to the notion that these titles are experiences that may carry significant value for mobile customers. Even the least of these… (Which is far from the manner in which we would describe either the mobile port of RL or mobile as a platform, by the way!) So many devs succumb to the notion that mobile is merely an opportunity to make a little bonus cash after success on other platforms (eg, Binding of Isaac) or that, once ported, maintaining and/or improving the experience for mobile customers isnt worth the time or effort. Again, see BoI as an example of this practice. Thank you for investing in us and in this platform. Thank you for seeing the value of our collective experience (at present and for the foreseeable future) as something worth the diligence and hard work that you have poured into RL.

Have it on every platform. Love. Love. Love. Love.

We absolutely love this game and have been playing it for months, but we have to remove a star from an otherwise perfect game due to the latest update. The move from OpenGL to metal is a great idea and we love it conceptually. Unfortunately the execution leaves something to be desired. Rather than the smoothness we would experience on OpenGL, the new metal update results in a slight stutter as we move side to side. This is experienced on a brand new iPhone 11 Pro, which is more than capable. Im sure this will be resolved in coming updates, but we wanted to bring awareness to the devs. Otherwise amazing job and we love this game!!

Its a fun game for sure but atleast 50% of your deaths will be from the controls on phones being so terrible you will try to do an action and something else will happen, or it wont register what you want to actually do. We have an iphone 11 and no other games give us the same unresponssiveness as this. Things like dropping down from platforms or attacking down just dont feel good… You cant just port a keyboard / controller game to phones without changing anything… You should remove collission damage with enemies atleast for phones so theres some sort of balance with the horrible controls. Other than the control issues its super fun but the control issues like we said before will cause you to die so much because of how badly theyre implimented.

We have an iPhone XR 14.2 iOS we just get a black screen and it doesnt load..

Played for about 5 minutes, loaded in with a new character and now the screen is flipped upside down. Still showing controls in the bottom right of our phone but the map is upside down. Unplayable. This is why we dont normally spend money on purchasing app games.

Its a hard game on PC. Its extremely hard on mobile even with the said, rebalancing. Some people are just good at these types of games. You have to have lightning quick reflexes and we just dont, the people that do, will love it. Like one guy said you will die multiple times with nothing to show for it cause you have to get gold to upgrade castle to progress but, when you cant even make it past the first room, its tough. That being said, its fun to try. We’ve been playing the hell out of it and having fun doing so.

This game is one of the best iOS purchases we’ve made in awhile. No play through is ever the same which keeps it fresh every time. We also like the fact that you can just pick it up whenever and not feel totally lost if you havent played in awhile. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Rogue Legacy is our favorite rogue style game. We played this when it first came out and throughout the years since. There have been a lot of reviews saying this game is too hard. The game play and difficulty seems to be exactly the same from the PC version. It’s a rogue based game and you’re supposed to die then come back. The controls are nice and precise. And you can even customize the control layout. Our favorite part about playing the iOS version are all the little Easter eggs and new traits that a heir can get. These new traits make playing on a touch screen as a unique game play experience. If you have played Rogue Legacy before, you should definitely get the game. If you have never played this game before, get it. You’ll have plenty of fun surprises in store for you! Thank you to the developers for making such a clean and fun iOS version of the game!

We bought this the day it came out because it looked like a fun, casual rogue-like game. Wrong. This is a bullet hell game. Expect to run, be insta-killed, and lose most of your gold. Again, and again, and again, and again. Be aware that you should expect to die nine times out of ten while making zero progress towards upgrading your character. We can see this might be fun to beat on a console, but on an iPhone? Not really. The description states the game has been "rebalanced" for the more casual gamer. If you are looking for a casual pick up and play game that you can play for a few minutes at a time, this ain’t it. If you are looking for a bullet hell game, or a thankless grinder, or are simply masochistic, them by all means, consider this game.

One of best game in all time now at ios.

We first bought this on PC and an year ago bought on Switch too. Now we’re really happy to play this on our phone too! Thank you Dev!

We can not be more happy. BUY THIS NOW. We played this to shreds on both ps vita and computer. Having it in our pocket now is honestly a dream come true. We emailed the developer about a year ago asking if they would ever do this with no response. Regardless, we are the reason it is on mobile today. THANK YOU!!!

This is our first insta-buy in a long time since most mobile games are either free to play junk or overpriced but 3.99 for a game THIS good is a steal. Thank you for adding a great premium game to the App Store.

Cellar doors, you guys know how to make fun yet challenging and hilarious games. We are so excited to have rogue legacy at our disposal! Thank you!!!

This is one of our favorite PC games, and its great to have it on our phone. Our only complaint is that the touch controls have caused too many unnecessary deaths.

This might be impossible to beat on a phone. Id love to see someone who can even come close. Still, lots of fun and worth the money.

Game is good but expect to die your first few times in only a couple mins. Is a lot easier with a controller, the game is normally difficult but is increased due to phone controls.

We really like rouge-like games and played this on pc but the mobile controls are to snappy and the fact you touch an enemy and take damage, does not blend well!

Hi there ill start by saying we love the game, but would appreciate if you could add different difficulty modes and possibly remove the money depletion events as its terribly difficult to keep up with the rate at which the prices increase as we level compared to the actual gold we can get in the dungeon.

The game itself is amazing. We bought this game when it launched years ago, and we always end up going back to it. We just hope the devs add support for the XS MAX before they stop updates. Paid games like this tend to stop getting updated after 6 months or so, so fingers crossed. Game is still amazing!

Some of the stats are way too tiny to read such as health/mp and what not (on the iPhone X) very difficult.

We played this to death on the PC. The game requires precise movement to excel in the later stages when bullets and enemies are all over the screen and the touch controls just dont cut it. Still, its better than nothing and Im glad this made it to mobile. Its lots of fun and if you can get over the controls, there is a lot of replayability for a mobile game and no in app purchases.

Looks and controls well but runs very poorly. Constant stuttering. Needs more work in that area.

This is actually a really cool game and worth it if youre a masochist, but we cant get into it. Upgrade costs get more expensive each time you buy one, (why punish us for trying to keep up with the steep difficulty scaling?) Charon will take ALL of your money each dungeon, so youre forced to just buy the cheapest upgrades because you will lose any gold leftover. In this way you can forget strategy and saving up for something you want. This game is very, very hard and each game Im making 100-200 gold which Charon just takes anyway. We came across the boss and mini bosses which are impossible to beat. There is no progress unless you get super lucky with a good character and an easy dungeon with lots of treasure, which is like 1 in 20 chance.
