rop Reviews

We love the just-sufficient minimalism of this (and all other) games by Gamebrain. IMHO, the 3rd segment was a bit on an easy side but unique enough from the other segments to keep the interest going. We feel that the whole genre of minimally-elegant brain games is underrepresented in our world. Many thanks to the creators for not giving up on us (the peoples) and continuing inventing these cool mind bending games, despite the lack of popularity. Even the fact that no one in our circles knows about these games makes us feel unique. Bravo!

Super fun game idk how it has so little downloads.

We don’t know what rop means & don’t care. <g> This is a great game! Just pull the ‘string’ down, pick the first set and go! Recreate what you see w/ the connected balls. No instructions needed. Our thanks to the author.

Wish theyd update this game. Was fun.

Wish there were more levels. Interesting and fun.

Exquisite, unique, fun. Everything else is irrelevant.

This is a great game that includes fun challenges and it’s worth the money! Have fun!

We downloaded this game bored one night bc it was under free top rated and ended up becoming obsessed with it, we however have been stuck on a level so a long time now but we’ll get it sooner or later. Definitely a good choice if you like mind challenging puzzles.

Title says it all. Once you reach level 11 on Package 2 and 3, you can are asked to pay, which we have before downloading this game.

Love this game! Some levels turn out to be super easy, but others prove to be a huge challenge!

Really fun. Best game we’ve played in awhile.

The game is based around one, fairly simple mechanic: Copy a goal shape onto a peg board using a limited number of ropes. It seems (and is) very simple at the beginning but bQuickly becomes nearly impossible. It’s not that there is to much to remember or anything like that. It just becomes difficult because the number possible right answers stays the same at 1, but the new of possible wrong answers increases non-linearly. This idea of increasing the number of failure states on a single mechanic is how Bra. In works (see Hokus) for the same idea and execution. Good game, just really hard near the end.

We’ve never had a problem with this game. It’s perfect to kill time while challenging your mind.

Nothing hyper. Nothing timed or frenetic. Just a nice chill game with simple tasks and sublime music.

We love this game, and even bought the additional levels, which we never do. Our only sadness is that there arent more levels!

It gets boring after awhile. The game is aesthetically pleasing and challenging but you start to feel like you’re doing the same thing over and over again… Kinda limited game play.

Very fun game! Once you get through the first few beginner levels, we found some of them to be very challenging! Kinda stinks you have to buy the additional packages for more levels, but they’re worth it. Please make more levels!! We’re finished with all three packages!!

This game is very fun. Clever, well designed and challenging in the best possible ways. But the extra 99¢ for more levels was shady. The game is worth $2 so just ask for it up front. No volume control either. Design you own would’ve been great too. Still, we loved paying this.

Rop was fun to play around with, with a good learning curve to get you used to the premise. However, we didn’t play it for long, as we kept receiving a message that our progress wouldn’t be saved due to a lack of available memory. The app is less than 20MB. We have 350MB free on our phone. How much memory does a save file need? It was disappointing, not only because we couldn’t save, but that the message popped up after every puzzle. Good idea, needs better implementation.

Okay, so we paid about two or three dollars to get this game. I’d say it probably wasn’t worth that much, but it’s a good game overall. It has nice tranquil music in the background, but boy oh boy we sure hope you don’t like listening to your own music, because rop’s is way better apparently. It’s aesthetically pleasing, challenging, and has a variety of ways to play. Which brings us to our next point. You want us to pay more money?! In order to get past level 11 on package one and two, we have to pay another dollar?! Sure, that’s probably not much in the long run, but we already paid our due up front, expecting an exceptional game, especially compared to all the amazing games we can get for free. Long story short, you’re not getting your money’s worth.

We would have given this 4 stars, but we’re subtracting a star due to the fact that the game doesn’t have iCloud sync support.

Cool game, but when you solve it faster than apple can get you a receipt for buying it there is something lacking. Solved in 6 days playing off and on. Not that hard, and we are by far no genius. Haven’t updated since April of 2015…. Easy to update, if you increase the board size.

You’ll get the other 3 stars when you add one of the most basic settings options possible. We want to listen to our own our must we while we play this TIME KILL GAME. We have no interest in listening to the ambience that it has with it, it’s too loud and interferes with our music. This isn’t hard, no clue why sometime so insanely simple is no where to be found…

Beautiful design. Gameplay gets dull and boring fast. It wasn’t ever challenging and there isn’t enough variety to keep it interesting.

You hit the in-app purchase wall to continue. We’re fine with 99¢ for the app but another purchase to continue? We don’t think we would have got it if we knew it was actually $1.98.

Pay for the game, then asked to pay more to open more levels? Just make the game one flat rate, or inform the purchaser that they aren’t paying for the whole game…

He can’t even play it because it won’t load. We thought it was because sometimes you have to delete apps the reload them so we tried now we can’t even download it again from the App Store. Lame.

So you pay .99 and when the game start you see 3 levels and about 200 challenges. When you get through the first set of 77 puzzles you start the second set. The after 11 (out of 66) challenges you have to pay .99 more to get the rest of the levels and challenges you thought you got with the original .99 you paid for the game. That’s shady! And the game isn’t good enough to drop another .99 for the rest, so we deleted the app. We are not dropping more money on a subpar game. The game play we got wasn’t even worth .99, I’d say it was about .50 worth of gaming. So disappointed!

Forces the player to interpret and visualize scenarios, ect. Amazing app!!!

Nice. Simple design and increasingly complex puzzles. Get into it!

As a fellow app developer we would like to congratulate you and your accomplishments. This game is truly a work of art! The simplicity is truly genius and incredibly addicting! Congrats on such a great app!

We love simple puzzle games like this that find a way to be challenging.

This game is great with the ropes and it’s good if you like a game that has a lot of thinking but it’s so frustrating but we recommend it.

We never thought that this game would be so addictive. We can’t get rid of it.

So relaxing and easy to get lost in, we highly recommend this to anyone who just needs a break…

We are more than halfway done with the first chapter and decided to play the second and third chapters but when we bought them it never gave them to us and no matter how long we leave it to restore it still doesn’t give us the chapters that we fairly bought. Plz help.

Love the layout and design of the game. Just wish there were more free levels.

Feels effortless, great design, and really fun!

Very awesome app. Very addicting. When it gets to the upper level puzzles, it does take some extra thinking.

Great game. It’s simple but difficult, had no ads, is aesthetically pleasing, and it doesn’t beg for likes and reviews. Some people say that the lines and knots should be a bit thinner, and yes, that would make it easier, but it isn’t a big problem.

We consider myself to be a fairly harsh critic when it comes to iOS apps and games, we do not like apps with ads, nor do we like games with micro transactions. This game has neither of those things, which in our book is a recipe for success. This game is fun, and challenging without being too difficult. It is definitely worth the download.

It’s easy in the beginning but gets challenging towards the middle and end 5/5.
