Well written and engaging! Im excited to explore more of this world.
Great text based game/interactive novel. Sequel is great too. Unfortunately it has some software issues. We were in the final chapter of this game and switched apps for a few minutes. The game wiped our save and started us in the first chapter. Mind you this was after successfully going through the chapters and reloading the save over the course of 3 days. Real buzzkill when you get that far and lose it all. The developer should look into fixing problems like this, if they did the game would be an easy 5 stars, but otherwise it depends how much time you have and/or how much frustration youre willing to put up with.
While not as good as the sequel this book serves as an excellent introduction in the world, meaningful choices and an incredible respect for history when it comes to world building. One of the few novels in the Hosted and Choice of games librarys that are focused on telling a good story first and foremost beige shoving choices in your face that mean nothing to the plot.
We’ve never gotten into stories before, Im a gamer. But this was awesome, we couldnt put it down. We were staying up late reading this in bed. Totally worth the money.
We’ve played a number of the Choice of Games series, but Sabres of Infinity is an excellent title that stands above the rest. The game is detailed, engaging, and genuinely interesting and fun to immerse yourself in. To this point, we’ve only played a single title that exceeded this in quality, through choice of games, with the title being Guns of infinity. An excellent title, worth the money.
So this is our second time buying the game, first on an android and now on the iPhone because we really enjoyed it and want to play again it really does have great options and feels like your opinion matters. We must say that we wish you could play as anything but a white man but we understand it would have been a massive amount of more work. All the people complaining about that yall obviously have never had to put so much time into a work like this. Overall a very good choice.
Good writing and a decent number of choices that can affect the outcome of the game, though not an overwhelming number of them.
We didn’t want it to end, so engrossing. Immediately bought the sequel after finishing.
This game is awesome but as we said but please make a conclusive episode in about a few months from now please.
This game in our eyes depicts battle pretty well. Not glorified, not all victories, plenty of death. And in the end, 9/10 times death is impossible to avoid. Really brought into light how war is just a pit of death and despair.
An amazing game, looking forward to playing Guns of Infinity. Trying to decide which game we enjoyed playing more, this or Mecha Ace is a great problem to have .

We highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good story and have game choices matter. The sequel "Guns of Infinity" is a must have to keep the story going. Our only regret is the wait time for release and that there are only the two that we are aware of at the moment. We need more.
It was such a joy to be able to play through an entire choice of game and not be forced into an interaction with an lgbt character. You have no idea what a relief it was to just have a straight protagonist. We have bought several Choice Of games trying to find something like this and we finally have it. Please don’t take it away. We’re begging you. You have enough games with forced gay/Bi/trans interactions. Just give the straight community of players more games like this. Thank You Soooooo Much!!!!

Quite simply the best interactive story we have ever had the pleasure of reading. The choices are excellently thought out, and they have real consequence. In addition they are both realistic and well written. If you pick no other work from choice of games then choose this.
Well written with an excellent story and interesting cast of characters. For all the people complaining of "For purely Pragmatic Reasons"… It makes perfect sense for anyone with a basic understanding of how Royal Dragoons (Which required a knowledge of your past, and family plus recommendation making it impossible to sneak in and fight for) worked.
We literally could not put it down, the story was absolutely compelling and well thought out, we feel connected to this world as a accomplished Knight!
(Note, we are only writing this review to balance out the person who gave it 1 star) It’s a brilliant story, and a more than fun challenge. If you disregard the fact that you have to be male, this is an amazing game.
The author of Sabres had never failed us. This title doesn’t disappoint! We especially recommend it if you enjoy a good military epoch.

Save for that drivel at the beginning about having to play as a white guy for "purely pragmatic reasons." That is absolutely ridiculous. Magic literally exists in this world yet you can’t play as a woman because then your social station wouldn’t make sense. Git gud.

Therefore, for purely pragmatic experiences, you have to play a young white man." look, even the actual 1800s weren’t like that. Plenty of women disguised themselves & fought in wars… Look at Julie d’Aubigny… For purely pragmatic reasons, this game is built on unsound logic, would not recommend.
We’ve played through this game twice in the past 24 hours and am about to do so a third time but what we would really like to do is continue the story! Please please release the sequel! When we first saw this we didn’t think much of it, we just bought it to have something to do on a plane ride back from France. We absolutely loved it. Read it cover to cover we think three times on that flight. 10/10 would recommend again.

We love this game and cant wait for the second one. To the author it would be really cool if you could make it so we could join the marines or any thing other than just the royal dragons.
The game is very long, alms it like a small story or high adventure novel. It has an incredible intellectual capacity to it that integrates Napoleonic era warfare and societal aspects while also including mild amounts of fantasy and nature-driven magical properties that mirror Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings genres. The game could improve by allowing the player to automatically "go back" to the previous slide and select a different option or read a slide again, as to play a different scenario instead of having to die and hypothetically loose a great deal of progress by starting over. Suggest putting a "back arrow" in upper left corner. We played this two ears ago and am replaying it again, but we’re still anxiously awaiting Guns of Infinity. Finish it up so we can all play! The fan base loves it but won’t wait forever. Bottom line, the game is intelligent (vocabulary, time period references, etc) and fun, we love it.
We have to say, this is probably the best of the Choice Of and Hosted games there are. It really immerses you into a world where you care for your character and your characters friends. Moral choices come into play, showing the honorable and dishonorable sides of war. It’s up to you to survive the war.
This text adventure game is truly amazing making it one of the best! It is so detailed with many possibilities and different outcomes to everything, not only that but you are always feeling truly immersed in every single step up the way. Whether you get stuck leading patrols or get appointed to a knight there’s always something that will just keep you wanting to comeback for more. Having played around 12 of "choice of" games this one is definitely one of the ones that we can say our superb in every way and is so much fun. We truly can’t wait till the next book! 10/10.

We have 18 Choice of and Hosted games in our library, and Sabers of Infinity stands out as the clear best. It takes place in a fully fleshed out and richly detailed world with a unique spin on Edwardian/Victorian social hierarchy. You feel a total immersion and the writer makes every choice count. The writer’s skill is apparent with each scene, and the attention to detail is impeccable. There is also a nice set of maps and reference material that tie in to make this a memorable experience.
This is one of the best "Choice Of" type games, and may be the best hosted game. In our opinion anyways. It’s fairly long, and that’s a good thing, and a lot of choices that lead to interesting outcomes. And the writing is done well. Worth it’s price and more.
This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. The author manages to create a deep and rich lore for the world he’s created while also providing meaningful choices and complex characters. This is quite possibly our favorite game on the AppStore and we eagerly await the sequel, Guns of Infinity.
Usually we don’t play these types of games but if we had a choice we would say this is the best one yet if you like role playing games BUY THIS GAME.

Okaaay, so we’ve played all three, Dragon, broadside, and of course this game. We enjoyed this one the most however. The author really adds the value of your skills to the story, such as having one skill will affect a moment in the broad story than just choosing a main choice. We’re slightly mad we can’t figure out how to fix the achievements. We’ve deleted and downloaded again and such.
