Schnittkraftmeister is a Education/Trivia game from Graz University of Technology, first launched in 26th July 2011.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 6+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Schnittkraftmeister Stand Out

Today buildings, structures and machines are almost always designed by computer-generated diagrams of internal forces. One of the skills required by an engineer is to verify the results of an analysis and to spot internal force diagrams that can not be right. This is why the "Schnittkraftmeister" was conceived: Students get an idea of internal force diagrams by playful learning.

Given is a structure under a static external load. Three different solutions for the diagram of internal forces are shown, but only one is correct. The faster the correct answer is chosen the more points are given. Be careful, when choosing a wrong solution, the game is over and all points for the current level are lost!

This serious game is for persons, who have a basic knowledge in structural analysis and of external and internal forces in structures. The target audience are aspiring civil or mechanical engineers.

This Education game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Good brain game. Perhaps add option to subtract points for incorrect answer, end game at 0 points or finish all levels.

Hi it is one of the best and useful apps that we have seen. Unfortunately it crashed after updating 1 mar 2016. Correct it pls. It dosen't start. We installed it two times but it has a problem in starting it gives you a black or white screen. We are so dissapointed for loosing such magnificent app. Fix it please. The most important problem in this app is " there is no instructions to define the possitive directions in coordinate for plot and decide the directions of momentum, shear and normal forces in a text " so u make mistakes in answers in possetive or negetive and the time for answering also is too short. Thanks a lot This is our second note after working with this app : In our country the original text books are Beer Johnson,Merriam & Aslam Kasi mali. Unfortunately in these books the possitive direction of z axis is upward & vise versa to your appIication. After 17 years working as an engineer it is too hard for us and others like us to change our minds in answering in opposite direction. As we and other friends of ours do insist to work and practice with your magnificent application We suggest to add an option for changing the Possitive direction of Axises for each player therefore your app will be the most scientific & useful one in the appstore & It will be a 5 star app. Please please please complete your valuable product. We are looking forward to your changes. Thank you again.

Fun game for any mechanics student! If youre playing from North America, just read the diagram right to left.

Pretty fun and good way to practice getting shear and moment diagrams quick as an engineering student. Draws everything upside down though so watch out for that. Took us a few games to catch on.

"How-to-play" and "wrong answer explanation" could be better. Makes learning / refreshing the subject fun but need to have done some of this before or it will become very frustrating.

It's good program but when we lose we return to the beginning & this not cool.

We like the app but for studying purposes the explanation isn't very good.

Very good for civil engineering students.

Because how can force/moment diagrams possibly be used in a game, but here it is! We play all the time now, and love that we're also gaining a better understanding of how to identify the internal force curve diagrams. This is awesome, thank you SO much! We hope you have more "games" for us engi-nerds who can't get enough. Also, it's helping us get faster for the PE review, and we can do it anywhere.

Great review app and fun to boot! Makes us wish we had this in school.

It's frustrating, it's brutal, it makes our brain hurt. This is our favorite game EVER, and would be even if it weren't helping us study for our statics class. Absolutely perfect! Getting thrown back to the beginning reenforces basics until they become automatic, and the levels grow more challenging just fast enough to not feel like being spoon fed material. We'd love to see more hard core learning games by these authors, they have a true grasp of how to make ideas like this work.

Fun and helped us to develop our speed in solving problems.

Trying to catch up with our mechanic.

This is Best Engineering App for IPhone (Almost). It needs to have the forces you are solving for spelled out. And it would be really help retention and improvement if you could set aside in a folder problems you cannot solve.

Its a good study tactic but if you were never taught it you would be lost.

We think that it should give a Better explanation. It's to hard.

Omg#this#like#thebest#game#evrbut we're stuck on like evry levl.

Big fan of this app. Good practice and fun to brush up on structural skills.

A fun and educational app for civil engineers and physic fanatics. A good refresher overview if you forget loading topics. Also it's a great app for people who never learned such a subject. Civil engineer pride baby! We have a B.S. In civil engineering and currently working on our master's in highway infrastructure.

This game is excellent! There's a couple of changes that could make it better (like more than one try before restarting or opportunities to add your own loading and see the diagram) but it's a great app! Many folks from our engineering department are downloading it now.

Decent app for getting used to quickly answering beam loading questions. Good for reviewing your knowledge when you are on the go or something. Like everyone said, it would be nice of if they included explanations for their reasoning other than that this app is pretty good resource for an engineering student.

The app is a fun way to test you're understanding of reaction forces due to many different loading conditions. As a engineering student and would love a update that includes brief hints or corrections following a wrong answer. Do that, and it's a five star app.

We will give it 5 stars when they add an explanation for an incorrect answer.
