Silent Abyss-fate of heroes Reviews

As a big big fan of rogue-like games and card games, this game is like a magnetic to us. This game is challenging and fun. At first you might find it hard and couldnt reach to the endbut this is normal! You are getting familiar with the strategies and leveling up (becoming more powerful) as you try over and over again. At last you will be filled with a sense of fulfillment once you defeat the biggest final boss at the hardest mode using just one hero. Every hero has unlimited potential. Once you understand their styles, you can build a deck that is almost perfect and then slaying monsters and bosses is just a piece of cakebut with a lot of joy!! This game is so underrated. Im not sure why it cant go viral like the Full Moon or some other similar games. We havent really looked into the issue but it seems that this game uses some pictures from other games (or the other way around; like we said, we havent done any research on that) All we know is that we saw some same pictures in another similar game. In two words, highly recommended!!

Maybe this game needs a bit of rebranding. Id guess a better name and icon? But regardless please dont let this become another dead game on the App Store.

Love the enhance your cards approach theyve taken in the deck building rogue like genre.

We like the play style and balance that you need to have a card deck building game. We will leave a more comprehensive review after a few more play through a with different classes.

If you like card based roguelikes, give this one a try. Its our fav out of them all.

This is amazing for a mobile game at a cheap price! Devs, please keep supporting this game by adding new cards, characters, and locations! With some more variety added in this game will keep people playing forever! Definitely the best rogue like game on mobile, if youre looking for Slay the Spire to go, this is the game!

We’ve played every battle card game like this in the game store. Im kind of obsessed with him and was shocked that we missed this one somehow. Im still waiting for the other shoe to drop but so far it is proven to be one of the most innovative versions of this game Type that we have seen. Unless something changes it has an asked us for money or anything and hes giving us a great game.

Great game. We’ve played so many hours. The Reckless modifier (purple environment effect) may be bugged. It reads Whenever any hero play an Attack Card, discard 1 random card. As written this should make attack cards cost 2 cards to play. The Assassin has a weapon card called Sleeve Arrow that fires an arrow after an attack card is played. This arrow also counts as an attack. Based on the card descriptions, we did not think this would happen.

This little game is fun and has some solid strategy! Im glad we downloaded it! Thumbs up:)

This game is great and we’re enjoying playing it, even when we feel the game is very unfair or hard. And we understand the balancing issues that this would generate, but every time our heroes lvl up we would appreciate an increase on HP, maybe +5 per lvl or something. Getting cards and accessories lvling up is great but we don’t feel progression on our character just on us as a player as we become better and figure out which cards we want to use. 10/10 we would recommend please give us +5 hp every time our hero lvls up.

Solid game but crashes during battles. Even more annoying is if youre in the middle of choosing reward, you dont get the reward on restart!

Information didnt backup to iCloud when we broke our phone. Lost HOURS of save data.

Great game. Tons of fun. We love it, and for a buck? Please… No brainer.

Need to clean up the english language translation some, but deep card strategy and interesting two hero mechanics. A steal at a dollar.

More complex than we originally thought, but in a good way.

In the same vein as Pixel Heroes or Darkest Dungeon, Silent Abyss is a rogue like card collecting team-based RPG. At first, the game seems very familiar with its useful upgrades, and rune system to enhance your action and defense cards, and lets not forget all that- loot loot & more loot (in card form obviously). But Silent Abyss is clearly not the same as the aforementioned, because of the way it presents the gameplay. Upgrades are earned quickly and never seem to end but this is a much welcomed feature because it is a rogue like. Also, the dungeons are mapped in a way that allows you to choose which way to go.. Providing more options for strategy which could make or break you when reaching each dungeons boss. We highly recommend this game and would love to see more like it! Silent Abyss is a PREMIUM GAME.. And only offers playable characters as IAPs. Buy, try it… Or wish that you did…

Fantastic game; we stayed up until 2:30 AM and missed the train to work the next morning. 5/5 would get yelled at again.

Havent gotten very far yet, just to the second level, but we’ve enjoyed it very much up to this point! The combat is nice, a bit like darkest dungeons, but where each character has a deck of spell cards to use and play from. We havent quite figured out how to build said decks with the deck builder but Im sure Ill get there!

This is a great add to the roguelike CCG genre. Right up there with Night of the Full Moon and Meteorfall.

This game took us by surprise, synergy between characters is delightfully dynamic. You have two hands each drawing from its own deck and using its own mana pool, balancing attack and defense between enemy movements and the tactical options in your hand. We hope the devs will continue to grow and support this game, it is Gold. Our only gripes are with some balancing issues and English Localization: Character back stories feel directly translated, in an entertaining way Ill add. The names of the minions from the first boss and of the bomb you can summon into the enemy lane have not been localized. Other than that, this game is phenomenal, we are excited to see it grow.

Fantastic game well done. If you like the game card quest or dice warriors you will love this.

Oh sure, there are some issues with the English, but you wont find a better game this year. Its a roguelite inspired by Slay the Spire and JRPGs with lots of good design choices and deep replay value. Each run unlocks cards or abilities slowly, and during a run, cards can be upgraded with runes that improve them. Lots to do and strategic like StS, and an outstanding no-pay-to-win pay model.

We rarely write a review, but when we do, its for great games. This is a masterful game that clearly demonstrates the crazy graphics or huge open worlds are not requirements for a fantastic game. Built upon a bedrock of creative game design and retro art style, this mobile game has been perfect for short and longer play sessions. We simply cant recommend it enough, based on our own personal experience and enjoyment of the game.

We just finished the first area, and so far this game is a well polished card roguelike.

If you like dream quest, slay the spire, hearthstone single player, etc. Just buy it.

When we first saw this, we thought, yup, another game trying to be/clone Sts. Which is not bad cause we would love mobile Sts but Where most are failing this game gets it right. It stays in the same realm as Sts, but is totally different. Great art style, we love that you bring 2 characters. Its the same yet a fresh take on a card roguelike. Update: been playing for a week or 2, and still not sick of it. Thats rare for a mobile game. The first week we didnt realize you could update your deck with the cards you get when lvling up. So for those, who didnt realize, edit your decks! For us we put more defense in, it makes a big diffrence GG Devs.

Lots of variability. Easy buy for $0.99.

We took a chance and bought this game because of the raving reviewsand Im glad that we did. The game is part fantasy card game and deckbuilding, part dungeon crawler and RPG (to those who know of it, it is in the same vein as games like Slay the Spire). So far, the gameplay is challenging but balanced, and there is plenty of depth and creativity in the way that different cards and decks can synergize. Couple this with the various items and modifiers that can be added either to the classes or to the cards themselves and you find yourself with all sorts of different possible playstyles. If you are familiar with these types of card games, then we definitely recommend it. If you are not, understand that it takes a bit to get in the rhythm (also, know that better cards are unlocked as your dungeon runs end and you gain experience). Our only criticism, and warning, is that it is clear that the game comes from a foreign developer. The writing is not as well translated/localized as we would like but if you can put that aside as we did then you will find a very enjoyable game. *Note to developers: Consider finding or hiring someone to help with the localization. If there is a way for some of us to contribute, we would certainly consider lending a hand.

Seems to still be in development with some of the translations but the game itself is fun, plays smoothly, and has a lot of depth.

Definitely a must play! We’ve been needing another mobile Card game after replaying Night of the Full Moon A ridiculously amount of times. Its hard but enjoyable. Accessories could be more accessible and gameplay a bit smoother but other than those two things, we love it! Definitely cant wait to see more heroes come out.

We liked the game, best on the second try. But its kinda boring how the music is the same all the time. Maybe some unique elite, boss, and final boss music at least? Either way good game.

A mix between some of the best genres out there right now. Once we play more Ill update this review to include all negatives and positives we can think of.

Id have to say for a rogue like card crawler its not bad. It could use a few tweaks but overall really fun game. Suggestions: -debuffs like poison, bleed, and burn could use a small buff. Since the upgrade times for stacking these are so random they could just use a small nudge nothing too much. Example poison bolt could either use a 2-3 upfront damage increase or an extra 1-2 poison. They are just very underwhelming with how much block you encounter. -archer needs a low cost defense card for early game of some sort thats effective. Some sort of small armor/damage maybe? Like a 1 cost 3 damage and 3 armor?

Kinda like slay the spire. More difficult so hasnt grabbed us quite as well but better than the reskins out there just attempting to rehash the game and not offer anything new.

This game is a great slay the spire like game. It could use some improvements with more block cards so that you need to use strategy of attach or defend. Also, there needs to be more opportunities for combinations. Otherwise, it adds its own take on the style of game and we are super impressed.

We like a lot of things about this game, but there are some significant issues that keep it from being fun. 1) The enemies are too hard to kill, especially at the start of the game. Fights take MUCH to long to finish, and often turn into boring grinds as we try and wear down enemies with hundreds of hit points. 2) Status effects are unclear, and are not defined. We dont know what all the keywords in the game mean, and there is no easy way to check them against a glossary, so we just ignore them. Im sure theyre supposed to be a part of our decision making, but as implemented now that doesnt happen. 3) Enemies all feel the same. Every type is basically a big bag of hit points. Are some ranged, and others melee? Are some spellcasters? There are no obvious differences between them, even down to which heroes they attack, or what kind of damage they do. 4) we dont understand exhaustion. Clearly something happens when we run out of cards, but we have no idea what. More importantly, we dont seem to have any way to tell when its going to happen, or what that means to our strategy as we are playing. 5) Boss fights are very dull. Their attacks should be dramatic, and we ought to be scrambling to figure out how to beat them, but Im not – they just attack, and then we attack and try and grind them down. 4) we have too many cards to start out. Give us leas cards, and let us buy more. As it is balanced now, we never buy new cards, because we have plenty. Which brings us to: 5) Im always broke. There are other options at the merchant, but we generally just replenish our health which takes all the gold we have accumulated. Buying health back is the least fun option at a store. FINAL WORDS (tl:dr) There could be a good game in here somewhere, but right now the game balance is badly broken. We recommend the devs take another pass at the game balancing ASAP. Then it might be worthy of a much higher review score.

Game was great until recent change which took away a valid strategy of turtling…
