Lynn, the game youre looking for is called nimble quest, its not on the phone anymore but its 5$ on the pc on steam.
So this game is exactly like the one our dad had on the PC years ago, just different graphics. Ive been looking for the game for a while and this is pretty good. Its snake but with fighting and leveling up. So far have had no problems yet and am really enjoying the game.
Thats one of the challenges but we only have a max of 10.
We liked Nimble Quest better, but this is really close. We think there's something wrong with the coins though – we just played three rounds, and our coin total didn't change at all after each one. And like others have said, it would be really nice to be able to make a purchase to get rid of the ads (or if any purchase does that, then it should be said somewhere that that's the case). Also, the description of the game on this page mentions equipment, but there's no equipment in the game.
Its a new version of nimble quest but not as cleanly designed. We assume theyll improve on the visuals in the future.
It was a sad day when Nimble Quest stopped updating. We believe you can still get it for PC, but it shined on mobile. We were happy to see someone did a reskin of that game. The controls are simple and we havent have a problem that way, they updated the graphics here which have grown on us, and completing quests make this game feel a little less repetitive. However, it rubs us the wrong way that one of the things that prevents this game from feeling too grindy is behind a paywall- being about to collect large coins.
We wish we could pay for an ad-free version. Sometimes, the game doesnt detect our swipes. And we cant stand the theme music provided. Its otherwise reminiscent of the 8-bit Nimblequest from the iOS of long ago.
It isn't horrible but Nimble Quest was better. For one thing this doesn't always detect our swipes (which almost certainly causes death). And we don't see how one could complete the quest to get 12 heros. The biggest thing is that there is no way to avoid watching pop-up ads. It seems like all the games today and entertainment in general are all designed to squeeze out every drop of money and energy from their customers. It's a disturbing trend.
To bad it has pop up ads. We absolutely loved this original game but this is a good reskin. But pop up ads are an absolute deal breaker.
