Description

SNKRX is an arcade shooter roguelite where you control a snake made of multiple heroes, with each one having their own attacks, passives and classes. Inspired by the auto-battler genre, each hero in the snake has a set of classes, and combining enough heroes of the same class together grants additional class bonuses. Heroes can also be upgraded to be more powerful when copies are bought from the shop.

== Gameplay ==

  • Your snake can’t stop moving, turn it left or right to steer
  • Your heroes attack automatically when close to enemies
  • Combine heroes of the same classes together to unlock unique class bonuses
  • Clearing arenas grants gold, which can be used to hire heroes at the shop
  • Buying enough copies of the same heroes levels them up, making them more powerful

== Features ==

  • 40+ heroes, each with unique attacks and passives
  • 12+ classes, each giving stat boosts and modifiers to your snake
  • 40+ passive items, each giving strong global effects to your snake
  • 25+ levels of increasing difficulty as the run progresses
  • 15+ achievements

SNKRX Reviews

Love this game! Has anyone else had a problem with no sounds/music being played on an iPad, but when connected to a Bluetooth speaker/headphones it plays? All settings are on, we uninstalled and reinstalled.

Honestly, one of the best rouge-likes we have played on mobile. Addicting, challenging and fluid. 5 stars from us.

This game is really cool! We love Kubbis songs and it fits the game. We like the simplicity of the game, the art style, and how you upgrade your snake. We have one problem and that is because we have an older phone so our game lags to the point where we have no control over the snake when there are more things on screen. We would suggest a low detail/graphics mode. However, we think it is just because of our older phone. We really like the class system and everything about this game. The game is so smooth and fun to play! Amazing job. We recommend this if you like these kinds of games. It is definitely worth 3 dollars.

We love this game and would love it if you added controller support.

We love this game. We would truly recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality mobile games. However, the game is quite short once you get the hang of it and know what to choose. We wish there was more content because once you beat it a couple of times the replay value diminishes. Overall, its a great game. 8/10 because its short.

We have a bunch of hours of this on Steam and bought it right away for iOS. Its a really good port of a great little game. Extremely simple, abstract, and great to play while listening to podcasts.

Probably the best mobile roguelite we’ve ever played. Simple gameplay combined with a complicated class system gives the game a surprising amount of depth without feeling overwhelming, and incredibly satisfying when you get the right combos. Even when we win a run with an overpowered build, we never feel like the game handed us the victory while its not the hardest game in the world, it still requires a bit of focus and skill to beat. Everything about this game is polished, and the features it has right now are well-done and balanced. That being said, we wish this game had just a bit more to justify the $3.00 price tag; maybe a new game mode, different types of upgrades, or more level randomization would give it a little more replayability. Amazing game, would definitely recommend in its current state, but it has a lot of untapped potential.

This was a fun little game. It has a novel play style. The closest thing it reminds us of is this old gameboy shootem up, or maybe Colloaitron. Its sort of a puzzle to find a good arrangement. We will say, the first time we beat level 25, we got to level 95. It does seem like some strategies are drastically better than others. Thats fine, of course, but we would hope there were at least a few distinct arrangements that are solid, and Id be curious to know if anybody has a good strategy that does not involve the volcano. But it is certainly more original that most games you see, and provided a fun and interesting game experience. Suggestions: 1) fix bugs. There is a bug with a stuck text menu. We think it happens when you click on one of your owned allies, and then click on one from the shop. Then you get two, and the ally one never disappears until you click on another ally. 2) Maybe some progression. We like a bit or RPG in our games, and if we lose, Id like to get something for our troubles. Maybe unlock towers or something, upgrade your starting money.. We dont know, but its be nice to unlock some permanent buffs. A world map wouldnt be bad either or a series of levels. Not a big deal though. 3) The way you level up what the shop provides is sort of clunky. You max it out pretty easily, with not much money, and then it makes it really hard to get one of the earlier allies. Not sure what would be better here, but maybe just make different cost refresh buttons that refill the shop with different tier allies. 4) The graphics are hard to read sometimes, especially in end game. Too much of the strategy is not being where the X is, and too much of that challenge is seeing the X under all of the particle effects. Especially the volcano. 5) Id like a stats summary. The buffs all seem to stack, which is cool, but it takes some detective work to figure out exactly what youve got. You can have 3-4 separate enhancements improving a tower at once, and theres no way to see the cumulative effect. A standard rpg 45(+15) sort of notation to see the base and augmented values would be cool. Overall, it was a nice little surprise, and while pretty short, certainly worth the buck or two we paid. Looking forward to the update/sequel.

We dont normally write reviews but we had to for this game. Amazing visuals, sound effects, and that soundtrack! It does glitch when you reopen the app but we dont care. So cool. Inspiration clearly from Dota for classes and skills. So cool.

It took us a little bit to get used to this game, and then the time started flying by. The game design is good. The sound is excellent. The app crashes when it goes to background, which is good in a way, because we cant play this while Im trying to multitask.

Vampire Survivors before Vampire Survivors, but deeper! How is everyone not playing this? We had to delete it to not play it constantly ;)

We would like to suggest updating the wording on the achievements because we originally thought that each of the class achievements meant complete a run with only that class, but it actually meant complete a run with that class passive fully maxed out, we would suggest updating the achievement description to fit this, and we know that you didnt create the game yourselves but you did port the game while also keeping it as close to the og as possible, and thats why we like companies like you, you port games that are on other platforms onto mobile, it really helps when a lot of companies on the App Store are just creating a lot of VERY SIMPLE GAMES (hate them a ton) and we understand that they are just to play when bored, but they are so full of ads it gets annoying after a while, but companies like you just keep the core game as intact as possible instead of creating a cheap copy of it, we hope companies like you continue to exist to port gems of games that could be an absolute gem of a mobile game to allow people like us know that we shouldnt resort to using only consoles or computers, thank you, so much.

When we try to do a run where every unit in our party shares a class, we find it hard to get those units and its even harder to upgrade them. Same thing goes with the items, we would recommend that you make it so that units and items that synergize with what run you are trying to do at least slightly more common so it is easier to do runs like a nuker run and we noticed that the only way for a healer or enchanter to attack is with shoot 5 so maybe make an item or a unit that allows healers and/or enchanters to attack. Otherwise great game! Edit: we realized that the class achievements mean to have their passive ability maxed out, we realized that when we did a run where 4 of our units have a shared type of mercenary, and we would also suggest improving the leveling system a bit so it shows 1. What the stats are for each hero (when seeing what the hero is) 2. Shows how much each stat increases when leveling up (just the next level) and 3. Shows the chance of getting another of that hero. We would also change the enchanters, nukers, and sorcerers classes because the while the nukers are powerful, they only have very few their 2s and their tier 3s are the most in quantity, the sorcerers need to have more items that synergies with them because, as far as we know, there are only about 2 or 3 items that synergies with only the sorcerers so why not make more items for just the sorcerers, and the enchanters have NO way of attacking by themselves, they only improve their teammates, so we would add an enchanter that allows a random unit to fire a projectile deals 3-7 damage and the tier three would be either allows 2 units instead of 1 and instead can deal 8-15 damage or the unit fires 2 projectiles instead of 1 and they deal 8-15 damage each or the firing speed is increased and the projectile deals 8-15 damage Edit 2: we have noticed that there is a builder/healer (carver) that creates a healing orb every now and then, and the tier 3 spawns 3 orbs instead of 1, but we would like to suggest two new builders, 1. A builder/swarmer, it would make a cage that spawns critters as often or more often than the host hero and the tier 3 could allow either the critters spawned from the cage to have more health or the cage spawns more critters and 2. A builder/mercenary, it would spawn a bank that makes one gold every now and then and the tier 3 would be either A. Faster production rates or B. More gold spawned. Now these are just suggestions, you dont have to use these but keep them in mind for the next major update. IMPORTANT EDIT: You probably arent gonna see this because we’ve probably made this to long, but we just want to say this, YOU HAVE NOT FIXED THE UNIT INFO LINGERING BUG!!!! IT REALLY GETS ANNOYING AND PREVENTS ME FROM EDITING MY PARTY!!!!

We absolutely love this game and am so glad its on mobile. There are two bugs though that have really detracted from our experience. First, which is small in the grand scheme, is the text box thing others have mentioned. Sometimes when clicking a unit/class, the tooltip will appear and then wont go away until you go to the main menu and back. Second, and this one is the worst: the game will just restart our run randomly sometimes when multitasking. Ill be on the pause or setup screen, switch to a different app (or just turn off our phone), and when we come back to the game it has restarted our run. This bug is what prompted us to leave a review as it just happened when we were entering round 25 and about to get to our next NG+ tier. Bummer, but will easily be a five if random restarts/crashes are fixed.

Who would have thought Snake could be fused with auto-battlers? But it works! The aesthetics and controls are clean and beautiful. At first the gameplay seems too simple, but after several plays Im realizing theres a lot of depth in the class combinations and bonuses. Our biggest complaint is that there needs to be more of a tutorial. It took us a while to realize that we need to double tap to buy something, and that we can upgrade the shop and artifacts. Also, its rather unforgiving. On high levels, a single crash into a swarm of enemies can take out most of our party. And there doesnt seem to be any way to upgrade our health.

There is an awful bug that causes certain text boxes to stay up on the screen after buying a unit, which ends up blocking about half the screen. You can still buy or sell units but it is difficult to see what is happening or how many units you have per class or anything, the only way to get rid of the overlay is to start a new round. Opening up new text boxes causes weird occlusion to happen and its overall just a mess. Game also doesnt do a good job at explaining things in our opinion but you can pick things up yourself somewhat quickly.

We originally bought this game on steam some time ago and played it pretty heavily for some time. Enjoyed it so much we bought it for IOS and love playing it when we have time. Recently we noticed that when we close the game but leave it in the background it will freeze upon opening again. This requires us to close and open the game again. Couple things in game we noticed are the ouroboros items dont seem to work whenever we pick them. The noticeable one is the projectile one as nothing ever shoots while spinning. Other than some small performance issues and minor graphical bugs the game runs great and the gameplay can be very addicting.

The button to restart your run is in the same exact spot as where you swipe up to return to Home Screen iPhone 12. Absolutely needs to be changed. Lost a bunch of progress on a good run just by swiping out of the app.

A mash up of snake and an action rpg. Use gold to get new characters with classes that have stacking bonuses when you add more of the same type. After some waves you get passives that boost whatever type of build youre going for and there are tons of them we hope to see more classes and different types of synergies added. Maybe team bonuses for having the same of certain types? New enemies and elites?

This game was really fun to play and a fun challenge to beat, if you are considering buying it we would 100% suggest you get it as its a really fun and a unique game. The only problem we would have with it are that the game lacks in and game modes or any type of progression. As of now when you win you get +1 max unit slot but as far as Im aware that all. Some things we would suggest would be a different mode where you start with a certain amount of gold and cannot make any more gold after and there would be no breaks in between rounds. Another idea we thought of was one where you could select 1 special unit before the game starts, these special units could be obtained from certain achievements like beating the game or some other type of challenge, these units can change a lot of how the game is played, for example, one of these units could be gotten from beating the game and it could be like the final elite, where it would be changing colors and it would have attacks similar to the final elite. Just some ideas that we feel could add more to this already great game!

This game is way too fun have played multiple hours cant get enough new game is great continues to impress us after 4 hours in one sitting.

We love the game, but we play on an iPad mini (4, but 5 is the same size), and we cannot rotate our screen into landscape orientation while playing the game, causing the area that everything is on to be very small. Wish we could rotate it, even if there were black bars on the top and bottom. EDIT: we would also appreciate an option to disable particle effects or something else to increase the frame rate.

We ended up winning on our first go, probably got lucky, but it was pretty fun! Guess we picked pretty strong units, but im curious how other combos play out!

This game is very fun to play with simple controls and somewhat deep gameplay. We would recommend this game to people that travel a lot and need a way to spend some time. Though this game is hard When you die in you feel like its your fault and not the game. While this detail is very subtle. Its really helps the enjoyment of the game. Though this game is fun we cant give it the full 5 stars. Only because more content should be added especially if your paying money to play.

Played this game after finding it on YouTube and wow we loved the game. There is so much to do, so many different capabilities and even more synergies. We have mixed feelings on if the game needs anything else or not. Most of it is great and the things that need to be changed in our opinion are small so Ill not bring it up. Anyways, got in contact with one of the devs and that was the real treasure of this game. David is such a helpful guy and answered our questions about the development and game engine(if you can call it that). Hopefully Ill be posting(releasing?) a new game as well to help with tuition. You guys made an awesome game!

Love the game but noticed a few freezes. When coming back to a game after multitasking, sometimes input isnt recognized so we have to completely close the game and restart. If this happens when looping, the party size doesnt show correct ie 9/8. If we sell in this scenario we cant rebuy until we loop again. Receiving a phone call also seems to freeze and require a full close and restart.

Really fun and interesting game, but each time our party size increases it never stays. Its decreased multiple times despite continuing our run. We were supposed to have 12 currently but now its decreased to 8. Please fix! :)

We first saw this game from a YouTube Streamer named SB. His content gave us a feel for the mechanics and we decided Id try it out. We were truly skeptical of yet another Snake/Minimalist style. However we bought it on PC and was amazed with the games design being so simple yet so complex. Since we purchased it on here (IPhone 12) we’ve had no complaints. Runs well, maybe a tad bit harder to escape due to the small screen but we guess we will see how it holds for the future. Easily worth the money currently. Plenty of time to play while having a way to come back to the game if you just close it out (at least through menu). It gave us a weird error code the first time but not another time. Also have selling characters asked to be done in a window. We did not mean to sell our Lv 3 Juggarnaut we bought first round. So maybe a different spot to sell or have window consent boxes. Id be happy with some number tweaks in some ways to compensate the difficulty exact mouse and keyboard. Overall its a 5 star game. Although we would like to see some free content in small ways here and there and some dlc major content. Ask us for ideas and Ill give some. You didnt get the point go get it. $3 support this charm.

This game is a super fun rouge lite. We’ve been playing it non stop with our boyfriend for the past week. The developer is really on top of things, Id recommend reading their blog posts to get some behind the scenes of the game. A few quality of life recs: a clearer explanation of what each item affects (what counts as a projectile, for example) and maybe hints that each class doesnt have the same base stats. Also, when switching to a different app the game can freeze, and requires closing and reopening.

We learned about this game thanks to northernlion and Dan. This game is a ton of fun, has unbelievable amounts of replayability, and has a dev who really cares what the community thinks. We were playing this on steam until the orb update and am LOVING it on mobile. This is the first mobile game we have ever recommended to others. Super worth the price, super fun, just super.

There havent been too many instant winners in our 11 or so years of iOS gaming, but THIS easily qualifies. Yes, the RNG setup can totally wreck your game. Yes, there are ways to minimize the chance of that happening. No, the RNG doesnt make this game unfair. If anything, it kind of feels like Dead Cells in that regard. The different layouts you can wind up putting together can sometimes surprise you. And even when you feel youve got a build that is CRAZY overpowered, the game can still ro-sham-bo you in a heartbeat. We made it to level 91… Was killing elites BEFORE the first wave of enemies could even spawn…. Then we made a mistake. And the game took advantage of that… And put us back in our place. To the dev: this is a MASTERPIECE! We have no doubt that scores of DLC modes could be done… Dunno if you have plans to, but count us in for an insta-purchase if you ever do. If not… Thats cool too, as simple as this game is, its got quite a bit of meat on its bones. Thank you so much for porting it over to the iOS!!! Easy contender for GOTY.

We know the developer has been working super hard and we’ve seen a ton of improvements to the game in the past month or so. Two bugs that annoy the piss out of us. – when we switch from the game to a different we end up having to completely close out of it and reboot to begin playing again. It just freeze if try to just switch back to the game. – sometime when purchasing units their info get stuck and wont close and completely blocks the rest of the view. This is really annoying when you are trying to build synergies because you cant see them.

This game is absurdly fun to play and Is pretty much perfect for phone controls. The simple yet complex strategy of the game is an easy to learn and hard to master experience. We really hope new units and items get added for years to come. Easily the best game on the app store right now.

Gameplay is poggers Everything is poggers Good game.

The game is really fun, challenging and worth the money but we feel like stick support on controllers would be really cool.

Lots of replay ability. We’ve bought the game on PC and IOS. If the dev is reading these, an option to make the snk arena area fill up the top and bottom portion of the screen and move the rest of the UI to the side would be awesome for small phone screens.

When you press pause while your snake is still moving the pause menu comes up but the game simply doesnt pause. Seriously? We have lost way too many runs to this bug. Also in shop when you buy something sometimes the huge description text box just doesnt go away until you press the go button.

Super fun game. No tutorial so you sort of have to figure out some of the mechanics. Its a port, so somethings are a little funny. The pause menu seems to be a little off screen. The app seemed frozen when switching between apps. Also we think there should be a portrait mode for one handed play.

This game is a lot of fun. Building you team synergy brings a lot of variety. All the problems we had with it have been fixed. The dev seems to really listen to peoples comments.

Great port of a great game. EDIT: Issue addressed.

Dev has brought this up to parity with the PC version and iterated quickly on the mobile experience – including a fast bug fix release. Great game!

Hi, we really enjoy you game and do plan on continuing on buying more from you so we just figured letting you know that this message popped up when we tried to see the achievements. Error buy_screen. Lua:636: attempt to call method ‘action’ (a nil value) Traceback buy_screen. Lua:636: in function ‘update’ engine/game/group. Lua:56: in function ‘update’ mainmenu. Lua:175: in function ‘update’ engine/game/state. Lua:69: in function ‘update’ main. Lua:1595: in function ‘update’ engine/init. Lua:178: in function <engine/init. Lua:141> [C]: in function ‘xpcall’

Great game with a good difficulty level and high skill cap. Lots of mechanics to explore. More than worth 3USD!

This game is great, we definitely recommend. The developer has been very active in updating the game on steam so we assume that they will be here as well. A couple of suggestions: 1. We wish there was an option to make the play screen window larger. Im on an iPhone 8 and we feel like we have to strain our eyes a bit as we play. 2. We would appreciate an undo button in the shop. Just one step back to undo an accidental unit sale would be very helpful.

This game is so well designed and a nice way to pass the time. Its a blessing this game came to mobile and we cant wait to see whats in store next.

Its a great game but some bugs related to clicking with intent to see a description vs clicking to buy.
