But you must cross this land if you are to reach Mampang and the Crown of Kings. Rely on your wits or fight your way through – play with honour, or lie, cheat and steal – the choices are all yours.

Bug fixes for iOS 13

Hear from the Players – Sorcery! 3 Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Sorcery! 3:

Great game, we’ve spent hours on it! We did find a couple bugs though. In Eltheras cave, when you Look at ropes it says we’ve found a rope ladder and put it in our pack. But its never obtained. Second, theres random treasures to be found in the swamp, or stolen from Fenestra. All of them only ever give us Jewels of Gold, even though we already have one. Theyre supposed to give items one doesnt already have.

We only just began Sorcery 3, as we are still halfway in Sorcery 2 (I beat sorcery 2 but theres an alternative storyline we really want to attempt before fully immersing into sorcery 3, we cant wait to fully play through as we have with one and two) More than likely you could play this game ten times over and not see the same thing twice. Its a very thought immersing, sophisticated, well put together and designed strategy game. The story, characters, lore, the items even are memorable, and the places you have traveled definitely will give you either fond memories or bad memories. Those memories and feelings can change quickly for one event that was previously not explored, or even a spell, or a different conversation can and will result in different reactions. We have so far, gotten through Sorcery One and half through Sorcery two, we did try Sorcery three and stopped to finish the second. We cant wait to finish them all and play again. You do not need thought provoking applications or memories and brain enhancing apps. Strategy, euphoria, thinking five, six and sometimes well ahead, while being mindful to a common person and just as cautious with what appears benign, but being open to take risks progress you in so many facets and ways in your mind and the game. It is in many senses, almost a game that can be utilized as a very seldom life experience for real life. Always be careful in all situations but live your life and have fun always while listening to all your senses and feelings. Your mind is the present, logic, and memories or reason. Your heart is what guides you and the present moment to always be aware of and follow. Your gut is instinct and the future. Always remember that and it will be understood in time to know if your heart and mind are being tricked by something you cant see if your gut is telling you no. Or if your gut says yes and your heart is weary is only telling you to proceed guarded but with courage. Always rationalize and never listen to anything but your internal voice. If it doesnt feel right. Its not. We guess we’ve been playing this game too much. Well. Back to it. Thank you!!!!

We find myself thinking about Sorcery! All the time. An amazing series that pulls you into its world and story.

Don’t listen to the 1, 2, 3, or even 4 stars. This is the best game we have ever played. The adventure and action mixed with the design is incredible. We have played and completed this game series twice already. However, get the bundle of the sworcery! Games or it won’t make sense.

We went over the four apps in our review of the first book, Ill just add a few things. This third volume is again exceptionally well done. The story is complex, mysterious, and difficult enough to keep you entertained for hours and hours. Each volume seems to get even better. This one is smart, well-written and incredibly enhanced compared to the original book. This is simply one the best mobile games we have ever playedand undoubtedly the best RPG game on a mobile platform we have ever seen. In fact, its the first mobile game we actually advised our friends to buy! As far as we are concerned, it should live in the top ten games in the Apple store.

Another very impressive entry in the sorcery series of games. This episode adds a few new mechanics while continuing and refining the systems that work so well from previous versions. Crisp, compelling writing and fantastic worldbuilding make this an experience not to be missed.

Masterfully built – astonishing.

Exceptional storytelling that keeps you enthralled choice after choice. An interactive fantasy narrative with all the classic ingredients you’d expect (magic, exciting swordplay, trolls, goblins, etc.) but with such a fresh uniqueness, we’re only disappointed that we’ve started with Sorcery 3 and not the first edition. Can’t wait to go back and play the others! (And then the 4th!)

This is a really cool game. Very well thought out. You can tell they took the time to do it right.

Please choose this adventure series, it’s great.

Don’t get this game unless you have countless of hours to throw away. It’s not for the casual gamer that needs short and fun entertainment. Get Warlock on Firetop Mountain if you want a more balanced experienced.

Follows the same formula of the first two games as well as adding more items and features. @Luffpuppen There is usually an area to rewind to and you don’t even have to kill any of the serpents to beat the game? You must have not played the other games and obtained items you should’ve had. Or your just not seeing the solution to the current puzzle.

Sorcery! 3 and the seven serpents is by far the best out of the three. However we may have to reinstall it since it won’t launch anymore. Although we did get plenty of play time in 5 out of 7 serpents beat. This has added and redefined what a game book port can and should be. Also we’re fairly sure the crashes are our device not the game. (iPad 4)

A little different style of play from the first two, but still an excellent game! Only one crash and everything recovered fine. Because it is more non-linear, the story isn’t as "tight" as the others, but still holds up. When we think about the complexities involved in trying to craft a game like this, we would say they did a great job pulling things together.

But this really captivates us! Much better than we expected from a choose your own adventure. There are some extra flavors- battling, drawing your path, graceful music and nice image renderings.

This game was a worthy addition to the Sorcery! Series, and improved on it it many ways. Interesting story, lots of different places to explore, beautiful visuals, and fun combat, lead it to be an amazing game. It is definitely worthy of your 5$, but we suggest you play all of the games in order, as they are also amazing games. Thanks inkle for this masterpiece, and we can’t wait for the fourth installment!

This installment is a great upgrade to the first two. The time-traveling adds a great nonlinear element to the gameplay as well as making the world more evocative and immersive. Superb job by Inkle taking the original book and changing it from a meh intermediate step into a haunting place of tragedy and loss. Well done.

Absolutely brilliant. We didn’t get the best ending on sorcery 2 but we don’t want to go back to replay it. So far this is 100% better and we loved part 1 and 2!

Been looking for an interesting game that we can pick up on and off when we have a few minutes throughout the day and this one is perfect for that. We wasn’t familiar with the series before but we tried it because it was on sale. Liked it enough that we wish I’d played the others first, but it’s still enjoyable on its own.

Use the towers to help you beat the serpent of time.

This is a great game. We’ve played all 3 installments in the series so far and have spent countless hours at work reading this and ignoring our job entirely. At $5 a pop it seems like $15 well spent in our opinion. We see a few negative reviews about not understanding the rewind mechanic, it’s simple and effective, those reviews should be ignored. Bottom line 5/5.

Awesome game, ridiculously well made, incredibly well executed concepts, beautiful art. We wish there were more interactive game books like this. The end feels very anti-climactic compared to Sorcery 2, but that’s not really the developers fault, just where this section of the story ends. Still, when get to the end of this beautiful, interesting story, be aware that you’ll probably think: "That’s it? That’s the end? Well, that’s lame." Regardless, highly recommended if you like this sort of thing.

The game delivers a sense of desolation and adventure that few other games have managed to deliver. One of the best available on the App Store!

The sorcery games on iOS have been hands down our favorite games. Can’t wait for sorcery 4!

Great game but definitely save it for when u can spend the day to just play through it.

Like its way diff than the other 2 but it’s gooooood.

But you need to think! Unfortunately some reviewers did not think through even the most basic instructions of the game. The punishment for this is built in and comes in the form of certain inabilities, such as rewinding effectively, or accessing eclectic locations. For people as these (you know who you are) the AppStore has other, more age appropriate games at competitive rates. Do check them out! Please join us in taking stars away until these slackers give us Sorcery4. Blink – just dropped to a 4 …

If you’re reading this and you have not played the first two games – stop what you are doing and get the first two games now. Just do it – they are amazing. TLDR – buy this game, it is extremely good. This iteration of the series adds some very cool time based gameplay. Also, the interface and interaction feel more polished than the previous games. Other reviews have said that this game feels empty compared to the prequels, but we disagree – the game just has a broader scope we think. It is an excellent game!!! If you liked the first two this one will not disappoint you.

The object of the game is simple kill the seven serpents but we cannot pass the mountains separating you from the water serpent we have been playing the game for days (real days) and do not see any conceivable way of winning but the game is cool noneoftheless we suggest buying it after you play the first two and tip (watch out for the red eyes) lol we died twice also ask someone who has won how to win.

This is a great game, but since this update, the game takes longer to process decisions and occasionally will crash. Other than that – it’s great.

We absolutely love this series, but there currently is a bug that restricts us from crossing to Lake Illad, REALLY ANNOYING! We didnt pay $5 for only half of the game :/

The game is fun, interesting, and challenges you to think. However, it crashes all the time, most of the time in the middle of a fight. We finally just gave up and continued on to game 4 without defeating all the serpents. Maybe we’ll play again if they fix the bug, but until they do I’d skip this installment.

We love Inkle’s games. They are some of our favorites not only as mobile games, but against our all time favorite games period. Sorcery! And Sorcery! 2 are phenomenal and we love the continuity between them. This game, however, is uninteresting, frustrating, and not at all compelling. We won’t go so far as to tell people not to buy it, but we will say we’re very disappointed with it and wonder if number 4 can redeem it.

We’re baffled by all the praise this installment has received and have to conclude that it is out of loyalty to the franchise rather than a sincere assessment of the game itself. Sorcery 3 is definitely one of the more tedious and aggravating games on the App Store. Did the developers test their product by actually playing it through? There’s no point to anything – no point to spending gold on food as it is lost one or two turns later; no point in obtaining helpful items as they are lost or stolen one to two turns later, no point in making choices as the game will steer you where it wants you regardless. There is very little action and interaction, and much of ones times is spent walking, walking, walking, swimming. We should reveal that we did not actually finish the game; we were wasn’t able to. If you die at a place where the "rewind" feature is not an option, then you you have to start from the beginning. That means hours and days of progress utterly wasted. The story unfolds too slowly and the intermittent rewards are too underwhelming to make restarting worthwhile. If you are on there fence about whether or not to play this latest installment, save your money.

Unfortunately, the current version of this game is unplayable on an iPad mini. We’re getting a repeatable CTD every time we attempt to click on the items or spell book icons (which are vital for play). We’ll update this review if and when this issue is patched. Updated review: Well, we got a patch promising improvements to the iPad mini performance. Unfortunately that patch made it so that the CTD happens on game start, every single time. The game works on our 5s, so it seems to be a processor issue. The game should state up front that its incompatible with the original iPad mini.

This game is one of the worst we have ever played. Absolutely do not waste any time or money here.

We loved Inkle’s stuff, but this one crashes a lot when you make choices. Yet to fix most of the many big problems. We waited weeks for them to fix a glitch that stranded us without a boat to finish the game with, and when they did, we couldn’t kill all the dragons without it vanishing and losing all our stuff. They screwed this game up and we’ve lost all interest in the brand if future installments are gonna get this treatment. No idea how their previously stunning quality of product could go so sour.

This was a waste of money. We made a move the had us die but there isn’t any option to start the game over, we’re dead and can’t do anything else in the game. We want a refund.

Another gorgeous interactive fiction by Inkle.

The first two games in the series were amazing, and this one is even better! Definitely more than worth the five dollars.

Reading fighting fantasy game books when we were a boy is one our happiest memories. Waiting for Sorcery!3 reminds us of those days waiting eagerly for each new novel to come out. Thank you, inkle, you folks have not only honored the original books, but have created a new way to discover these adventures for a new generation.

Ever had a warm spot in your heart for interactive fiction or choose-the-adventure books? If so, you absolutely must play this beautiful masterpiece. The bad thing is it’s so hard to stop playing!

This is the only company whose purchases we will buy without hesitation. All of their games are original, innovative, and engaging. This one is no exception. Buy the whole series, though!

Oh our god what took you all so long to release we cant wait already started and its great keep of the great work we love this game.

Haven’t played it yet but finally!

We love Sorcery! We had the pleasure of reading the actual books when we were a kid because our mother collected them when they first came out. Enjoyed every moment. They were so much more in-depth than "Choose Your Own Adventure" books and took a more mature approach to things: the story was intriguing, there was so much to explore and you got to act like an actual adventurer casting spells and battling monsters. It felt like a less complicated, single player D&D campaign. Playing this again on our iPhone has been a blast. We love having more visuals to enjoy while roaming about, while inkle still preserved the great original artwork. The "twist" of being able to change the topography with special items is particularly eye-catching. And of course the writing holds up to this day. This series is a true gem and if you’re a fantasy fan you owe it to yourself to see these classics glossed up and presented in such a fun format. Something else to note, we’ve always appreciated that you can play an adventurer of either gender and inkle has retained this option. So often you’re stuck playing as a male in other (modern!) games yet here a series decades old was bright enough to offer such a simple yet considerate choice.

Really good game, recommend it if you liked the other sorcery! Games.
