Hear from the Players – Spectaculator, ZX Spectrum Emulator Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Spectaculator, ZX Spectrum Emulator:

A solid emulator with many titles from the past! Thanks!

We don’t know what else to say! We wish other emulators were officially licensed and available like this. All of the games work beautifully. The cost for each game is more than reasonable and really is worth it to enjoy these games again. Really nicely done!

What if we told you that there were times when your computer didnt spy on you on behalf of fakebooks, googles, twatters, and other CIA friends?

We love these games they are great nostalgia for us. Having a spectrum as a kid all our games were imported from United Kingdom via mail order from a catalog. But its great to see so many of our favorite games and titles up for grabs in this awesome app. We’ve had the app for quite sometime and its always emulated perfectly. It works great on iPad pro especially with the horipad ultra. That we picked up at our local apple store . Love this app.

Thats really a great app – the only thing it misses and for us its a BIG thing – its a support for an actual physical keyboard for an iPad (Like the Apples one for iPad Pro). So sad that we have it right here in front of us but should use onscreen one instead. If you could add support for the physical keyboard we would really really appreciate it (and would even pay for it ;) )

That you will actually want to play. If, like us, you primarily remember the Codemasters games then there isn’t anything here for you. Of the included games we only remembered Cyclone which we think we got off a cover tape on a magazine. The interface on our phone didn’t inspire us to buy any of the other games we remember, but again there weren’t many in the paid section either. At $3, it looks like it translates to $1 per minute of use. Also doesn’t seem to be updated anymore – no more games forthcoming. Save your money, there’s better available for free on the internet.

The fact that you have to purchase other games despite already paying for this emulator which, to be honest, doesn’t have games we myself could call classic, seems like a huge let down. Sorry developer, but if possible, could we please have a refund? Thank you.

Thank you spectaculator, you have successfully taken us back to the 80’s. We’re 22 yrs. Old and love to go back and try to experience cultures and other period things from time periods we’ve never lived in. Vintage/retro games is one of our favorite, and unfortunately the App Store Is woefully short on quality retro NES 80’s style games. These may not be the NES Classics most people remember, but if you play them, have no doubt, you’re going back to the 80’s. Thank’s for a great experience.

Hands down the best spectrum emulator on the App Store. Especially love the speccy loading emulation – much fun for old people like us!

… Where are the classic games?

Thank You for doing this!! Took us straight back to 8y/o when we got a zx spectrum + 48k for Christmas. Our 1st computer. Any shot at ‘Jason’s Gem’ and ‘Wizards Lair’?!!

We are so happy that this emulator exists. With all the modern games and high-tech graphics, it really is refreshing to go back to a time when games were simpler. We never played the original ZX Spectrum, but we have become a big fan.

If you had the Sinclair or even the TI-99 or a host of other computers from the 80’s you have to get this. Brings back so many memories and it works great.

A must for any retro video game fan. Like going back in time to those 80s arcades . 3d star strike is worth the 3 dollars alone , great app.

There emulation is top notch we love the nostalgia of tape loading elite doesn’t have any of this and icade support along with turning off filtering it may not have as many games as elite collection but they are adding more games as time goes on we hope they don’t stop love it keep up the awesomeness guys we may even buy the desktop version.

Excellent emulation. Some solid games but too many home brew. They seem to be adding and improving hence our four score. As it stands it gets three but add a few older games to it and four to a possible five.

This is one of our favorite emulators. Our friend had an zx spectrum computer and we played it all the time.

This is the best designed emulator we have ever seen on iPhone. A zx speccy in every way and with us living in the US now we can play this from anywhere. One thing it needs is more games! 5/5zeds.

Best One Yet. We got the other one but this one is truly a ZX. Good Job. Plus its a Universal app. Thanks! Save feature Rocks.

This is great for not just fans of the computer but fans of 80s computing. The app is worth every penny but we wonder why the software available on the free version isn’t available on the paid version, we hate having two apps installed of the same program.

Have no custom tap or tzx images? What this emulator for in this case? Sorry, need refund.

Next to impossible to enter a basic program no matter What that other reviewer said. Does not work at all no less saying it’s better. Don’t waste your money on this useless misrepresented app. It’s cow flop.
