Community Insight:
Graphics are to busy. Takes away from playing the actual game.
Love the game. Graphics are great. But, too many glitches to be ok with this app. Algorithm is far from acceptable. Just when you think you have a good run, a card from your pile is mysteriously played & not anything close to your intention; or, your opponent suddenly has exactly what is needed to shut you down, which could happen. But, the frequency would not. Although, its probably a sign that Im playing too much.
Medium and easy arent all that bad but the hard mode ai gets extremely long streaks of cards and makes it almost impossible to win half the time.
Even the RNG itself is random; we'll see the CPU either stack their cards unorganized and then all of a sudden, they play half of their cards including the shuffled ones in their rows. The difficulty settings are also broken with medium feeling like it's either too easy or too hard – isn't that the point of a medium difficulty? This game is luck, not skill.
Overall decent game and can be fun. The rewards for winning are quite negligible. Its seems when the algorithm wants you to lose, you WILL lose. We only play live match games and some games the opponent will get wild card after wild card and bang out numerous runs. Meanwhile we can play only one card per turn and get zero runs. We suspect this is to push players to purchase wild cards.
Not great, you can tell when they are throwing aces to make the game more enjoyable. Not confident that the cards are set and not changed during each hand.
The interface is too packed and it played cards we never picked. After one game, we deleted. It has potential but its not there.
This is our go-to game, however the bugs that are in the game that pop up often are annoying. Ive told the developers about the issues along with other players, but they have yet to fix them. These include the game not loading and cards automatically playing that you did not pick, which can cost you the game. If they fixed the bugs, we would give 5 stars for sure. Also the new emojis seem like an afterthought add-on and are in the way of card play on an iPad.
Love it.. Can you play a game too much.
We remember playing this game with our grandma and our cousins. We played for hours. We miss those days.
We learned this game at a Senior Center that we managed, and was thrilled to find this game app! Very well done.
We play every day and never tire of it.
Would be really cool to play against other people, but theres just not enough people out there unfortunately.
Fun to play when you have a few minutes free time. Wish there was a way we could play with our daughter.
This game was one of our favorite card games until about 7 mins ago when we accidentally started a game on the hard difficulty. Usually there is some type of struggle in there but we found ourselves being completely annihilated by a cpu that was popping out of the wood-work with wilds left and right. Seeing as though we were dealt 0 and the cpu had been dealt at least six mid game, we ultimately came to the conclusion of it being developed poorly and decided it be best to part ways.
We enjoy this game but dislike the prices of buying jokers!!! Its too expensive! Especially, since their coin payoff when you win is a joke. They have two types of coins you can collect. The lighter color one help to but jokers and to level up. The darker coins lets you play other players. We dont like the time it takes for another player to finally play a card. This game needs to pay more light coins and create other ways to collect lighter coins. Ive been playing for years and it is getting old.
This is the best, fun game! Its a little hard at times but ..who cares..its just so fun to play.
Been playing this for years and years..change the gamesyou have the technologyplease do it.
Used to play this game with our Mother and this brings back lovely memories. Had the app for a few years and rarely had problems.
We have been playing this game for a long time now. It does seem that the computer has an advantage over us. Looking at our stats shows we can never get ahead of the computer. Which seems unfair. Some games we are blocked and can hardly play at all. We do think the reward system is unfair also to win 5 but to move on to pay 3 for next challenge makes it hard to collect any points. So please give us die hards a break! Thanks.
The live play is very slow. In the play against the computer sometimes way too many cards are played before you get a chance to make a move. But other than that, its a great game.
Periodically we change the level of the game because it seems to get less random after awhile. There are times when its hard that many of the same number repeatedly come up in the draw. We also dislike when we erroneously touch a card, it goes up, and we cannot undo it. Other than that, we love this game. We used to play it with our grandmother and our mom, but a little differently.
It shouldnt take so long to earn enough coins to play the other versions. Just give us those versions the time limit should be shortened so it doesnt take so long to wait for opponents.
We have played for years but have now deleted it. The game has become a lesson in frustration when the computer continually plays through its entire stack over and over. The odds of this happening in real time are astronomical and have caused the game to stop being fun or challenging. Its too bad. We really enjoyed this version but its time to move in.
Easy to play friends and relatives.
Enjoy playing, however to many long adds between game. We have considered emulating the app.
Enjoy the challenging levels and variations. Fast paced and entertaining!! Like the uninterrupted action and ease of playing. Ive been playing it over a year and havent tired of it yet! Remains challenging.
Ive been playing this game for months and we are getting our butt kicked but it feels good when we win a game or two; truth is this game is relaxing and great stress reliever.
Love this game play it every day.
Its hard to win unless you play in easy mode. We almost always win in easy mode. Once in a while the computer gets so stacked and goes on these big runs where we cant play very many cards and vice versa. Its just rigged to make you win most of the time and lose once in a while so its not like playing a real person. There a very few close games. You lose big or win big. Move up to medium and hard and you just cant win much at all. Thats a bit annoying but we dont care much. Its mindless, and for us, thats kind of the point.
Sometimes cards are played automatically and sometimes discards are made before we have a chance to make our move to discard. Sometimes the game fails to load our cards and unless you want to forfeit you have to wait quite a few minutes before your given the option of declaring a draw. Sometimes it looks like an opponent cant be found to start the game and you are given the option of playing the computer. If you choose to play the computer the game starts with a human opponent, not the computer. Most games run without issues but sometimes there are issues. We find the most annoying thing is playing someone who takes forever to make a move. Slow opponents. Ack.
Once you get to the hard level the computer will continues to have hands that can go on for 3 hands while you will get the same cards over and over to not be able to play. The game is over before youve gotten rid of 4 cards in your pile of 20. Its not an enjoyable game to play once you realize they system is rigged.
We dont like the way , sometimes as soon as a card choice is touched it goes to a destination you did not choose. Sometimes, that robs you of a win.
We were just telling our family about playing Spite and malice as a kid, now we can show them what all the pain and anger was about. Lol.
Love this game! Our familys favorite.
Almost perfect.but! For the last week we havent been able to move past the ad to actually play. Its as if the x button isnt functioning.
There are too many adds for the same game, to upgrade! Way too many when we first click on game and while we end a play! Very aggravating and hard to get rid of the ad.
We like the basic idea of the game and the layout of this developers version. Its all fine until you hit the Hard version of any of the games, and thats where you lose us. The algorithm feeds the computer extremely long strands of play that are unrealistic. If you were playing a real person, that person wouldnt be able to play 12-15 cards in a play multiple times in the course of a round. It might happen once or twice. In reality, most plays are going to involve being able to play 4-8 cards if the player is skilled and using good strategies. As a skilled player, we want to know we have a decent chance of being able to win a game. With this app, Im lucky if we win 45% of the time at the Hard level and we keep watching the computer get these completely unrealistic long strings of cards to play when we can only play 2-4 of the cards in our hand. It feels rigged. Fix the algorithm, please. We did pay to reduce/remove adds.
Enjoying the game but we have two issues: 1. To many adds! 2. Cards will move automatically if you touch them even by accident! Otherwise, no complaints.
Honestly, find another app developer to play this game. The ads make you hit the X at least three times. Everything about the ads is a bit ridiculous. If youve ever played this game in real life then youll quickly realize how unrealistic the algorithm for this one is. The computer will magically get 4 wild cards and go from 11 cards to 0 and win. Someone out there, please make a new spite and malice app.
Why do you think people will continue playing a game if you cheat. If you dont care about that, why create something you obviously want people to play.
Nice layout. Good format with what appears to be live players. The adds are very intrusive and force you to go to the App Store multiple times before closing.
They DONT even try to hide it. And you WONT be getting a developers response. We play for a laugh.
The game on hard mode cheats. Dont lie it does. So quite telling people it is fare.
This is a great app. The game works really well. We like that you can play online against other players. The computer is decent too. Our only complaint is that you cant turn off sound on the ads, so youll be playing, finish a game, start a new one and an add pops up at full volume completely freaking out your surrounding company and yourself. Most of the time, we play in bed before we go to sleep with a sleeping husband next to us. On more than one occasion , it has woken him up. Fix that and we would give 5 stars.
Game is rigged instead of offering a purely random distribution of cards. We gave 5 stars to trick the algorithm to allow this review.
We really enjoy all our North Star games. The only is the LOUD Casino ads. Those people screaming in the ads is unsettling. North Star is not the only games that plays this ads, but when they start we just shut the app off.
We had downloaded a different app previously, and there were ads every other play. With this app, the adds are minimal (usually one at the start of the game and that's it). We LOVE this app.
We dont play games on our phone, until now that is!!!! We love this game.
Love this game! We have been playing for a long time now and its just the best! We love that you can play when youre offline too.
