DESCRIPTION:
The game is visually driven but the core of the gameplay is focused on strategic thinking. Your goal is to connect all the dots. Sounds familiar? Nothing could be further from the truth. Splashy Dots has one of its kind mechanics that can't be found in any other game. If you like games such as chess, Sudoku, Go or Rubik's cube you will be amazed by how much this game has to offer beyond the colorful art style.

You move the dot with swipes so in order to play this game you need a single hand and an open-minded brain. Your dot moves on a visually appealing grid that lets you easily understand the in-game physics. You can move horizontally or vertically within this grid. There are only splashes and paint streaks. Whenever you swipe you create both – a streak and a splash. The in-game music is relaxing and your moves are accompanied by calming sound effects.

At the beginning the game is easy, but it gets more brain-challenging with each level you complete. It's easy to finish initial levels which contain only a few dots but you need to learn how to test your strategies in order to finish levels with a dozen of them. You need your combined experiences to progress in the game. There's always at least a single possible solution but usually, the first move is the most important one. It can immediately help you solve the puzzle or break the odds of winning.

The world of Splashy Dots is full of colors. Gameplay will make you excited. It's addictive and challenging. Whenever you get stuck you don't need to stop – there's a hint that you may want to use. There's no such thing as a score so you don’t need to hurry. Take your time, be patient. Test your skills and try to solve one of the most creative modern puzzlers.

If you own AppleTV you need to know that the Splashy Dots TV version was not only specially designed for TV, but the game will be synchronized across all your devices, whether it's iPod, iPhone or AppleTV. Not convinced yet? If you play on AppleTV you will get daily free hints! Yup, that's it. You only need to download the game on your AppleTV in order to receive free hints on iPhone.

Enjoy!

Community Insight:

We love this app so so so so so much us and our family like to play it and we love the music its so relaxing and some of the puzzles are easy and some of them are not. We were trying to find so apps for us today but we couldnt find any and our mom remembered about this app and we downloaded it and we remembered it and we LOVE IT you did a awesome job on this app we love it so so much and we use it on our iPad we think playing this app on a iPad is best but you can use it on pretty much on any Apple device you can use it on a iPad a TV a iPhone maybe a computer but anyway please make more apps like this your app is spectacular and exquisite and we are just a 9 year old girl but that doesnt mean we cant play this app LOVE IT.

We see an option for ad free hints, but does that remove ads between levels? They really upset the zen-like flow of this game, which is its best feature. We like the repetitiveness of the puzzles, because it trains you to solve on instinct and reflex. 5 stars if we can get rid of the ads. Hints mean nothing to us.

Dear game developers, Its a clever little game, but… Depending on how theyre implemented, ads will either be perceived as a path to reward or as a punishment for playing. When theyre implemented as punishments, after a while playing your game feels like a series of punishments. So… We delete. This is simple psychology. Surely you can take some of that creative intelligence and come up with a way of monetizing with ads that doesnt make playing your game a consistently negative experience. Also, you could ramp up the difficulty level a little more quickly.

Good: 1. Well designed UI and UX 2. Wonderful colors Bad: 1. Some times the judgement of operation is not reasonable. 2. Why design the main menu in such an ugly way… 3 and the most important one: most puzzles are just simply rotating or reusing part of previous ones. Seems 60% puzzles are generated by algorithms using micro-part of several puzzles. This makes whole game boring. We can figure out most puzzles without 5 sec with minimum steps. You should have designed it better.

Would give five stars if we could pay to remove ads.

There is no way to opt out of this game collecting your data, which we refuse to allow, so we dont even get to play the game. We get its a free game, but Id rather it give us one day to play to see if we like it and then even just to be able to pay to opt out if data collection.

Annoying Ads. Too many. Too long. No option to pay to remove ads. Otherwise awesome and addictive game. Too bad they ruined it with making users watch 20 secs ads every other challenge. Id gladly pay $3-5 (maybe more) to remove all ads so we can enjoy the game.

We downloaded this app and we played for about 3 months before we beat the free version which is amazing for just a free version and you have to pay for the rest of the levels for $30 which isnt bad at all! We would totally buy the rest of the levels but Im busy saving up for other things that it wouldnt be worth it at the moment but it was an amazing game and we recommended it to all our friends and got them to play it for at least a week each. On top of that there are hardly any ads at which we loved and when one did come up it was only 5 seconds long. Another amazing thing about this game is that we never ran out of hints! When we ended the game we had about 75 hints left! If you ever feel like youre ever going to run out of hints you really wont (unless you use them ALL THE TIME) plus you get a hint every day which is a good feature. Love this game and whoever is reading through this whole review better go download it right now.

Not only is this puzzle game not too easy and not too hard, but it is also a unique form of puzzle we have never seen before.

So simple a concept, so well executed! They got the incremental difficulty just right. Once you start to master it, it gets a little harder so that you never get bored. And you feel satisfaction at beating a level. It is very relaxing at the same time, a great distraction when you need it. Highly recommended.

Love the game. Our only problem is the ads but thats to be expected in a free game, just turn on airplane mode if it really bothers you that much. Its very satisfying to play. What we like most about it is that instead of adding dumb new things that make the game more complicated and trial and error based like portals and blockades and things, it just sticks with the same premise but gets more challenging. We love it its so relaxing and the sounds and visual aspect of the game is great. 5 stars.

A good concept, nice art style. Doesn't seem to deviate at all from its core mechanic or require you to adapt a new approach to solving the puzzles at any point. We guess you could make the argument that Sudoku doesn't either, the boards just get bigger, but even still, we find ourselves getting bored instead of being excited to keep going.

Game is fun. Is there no way to get rid of the ads without buying hints too? If we buy the minimum hint package, does that get rid of the ads forever? We dont really need the hints.

This game looks really fun at first, and we suppose for a while it may be. But then you advance until the game, and you realize that you've done the same puzzle, just rotated or with a dot moving a space or two, five times in a row. Some of the in-game animations look a little choppy and they can slow down the game. If we want to get to these so called hard levels, we've gotta bore our way through unoriginal levels and freezy animations. It's kinda slow, kinda boring, has the potential to be fabulous and snazzy but didn't really use it, but great music.

This is a very pretty game and fun. The frequency of the ads though, diminishes the enjoyment. With no option to pay for removing the ads, we will be deleting it.

We will admit, this game has a fun concept, but its extremely easy. After the tutorial where it tells you nothing and you just cluelessly play levels, it told us it was going to give us harder levels but we still complete them in maybe 10 seconds each. The ads, for once, come at a good pace and they arent annoying as you play. Its seriously not that hard and we wouldnt reccomend.

Because the game isnt much fun, or challenging at all. And it plays preset fast and loose with its own rules. Sometimes a cross over looks a lot like a double back. Overall, we give it an emphatic meh. Im gonna get rid of it to make some more room for other stuff.

Some of the puzzles feel unintuitive after a while. Why? Because all they do is rotate it and offer it to you the same way as before. Once you learn a puzzle, all you have to do is memorize it and wait for the next to show up, then put in the same rotation. Heck, sometimes we even ran into the same puzzle twice in a row, no rotations. If it wasnt for the reward of a hint, we wouldnt feel motivated to finish the same puzzle after level 8 or so.

The ads are much less invasive than they must have been, based on other reviews. The problem is that after 5 minutes of play, youve seen basically all the levels, then they just repeatdifferent colors, or flipped left-to-right, but theres not much to it. The aesthetics are nicer than many other puzzle games, though, so thats a plus.

Theres no option to pay to get rid of ads? Im deleting it.

Every 2 level theres a video ad. If you want us to pay for anything you gotta first give us a good experience.

The game itself is challenging and addictively playable, but you often spend more time watching ads than playing the game. Many of the ads can't be dismissed, forcing you to quit the game to resume playing. Deleted.

This game has more ads than any other game Ive played. Its relative as well so we lost interest quickly between the gameplay and the ads. Deleted.

The tutorial doesnt even bother to have any written instructions. Delete.

Keeps sounds on Ads couldnt find way to stop sounds.

Unplayable – its basically a stream of ads occasionally interrupted by a game, instead of the other way around.

Not a good game. Many puzzles require one to pass between two dots more than once. What kind of good game would require or even allow such a thing.

Like the game but 30 second ads after every single round is excessive. Deleted.

Very boring very fast. Got to 30 and didnt get any new mechanic of any sort. No cant cross colors or anything like that just do the same kinds of puzzles that can be completed in less than 5 seconds after looking at it for 1.

We personally think that this game is fantastic. It really makes you think. But there's one problem that bugs us a lot, and the problem is the sound the retry button makes if you do something wrong. It annoys us a lot. But other than that its great.

We love this game its our current favorite, truly. Id happily give it five stars except… We dont mind the ads, except that many dont respect our sound settings (when muted by the wide switch and with all sounds and music off in the app), thus playing sound or music in ads embarrassingly in public places. Please fix this.

This is a good puzzle game – nice challenge, but the ads…oh our! We see an ad at game startup, and another ad after each puzzle. Sometimes the puzzle takes 10 seconds, but the ad for the next puzzle takes 30 seconds! Removed after a few sessions because the ads take longer than the puzzles – just not worth the wait.

An ad after every single 30 second puzzle is way too much…especially when it is the same advertisement…literally ad nauseum.

How are you getting away with overriding the silent setting on an iPhone and making the ad commercials play automatically on its speaker? Not cool.

Gameplay is ok, puzzles range from easy to moderate. But way too many ads, incl full 30 ads that cannot be bypassed. Yeah you can pay to remove them but the game content is not compelling enough to bother.

Entertaining enough for a bit, deleted after seeing so many ads.

We cant play the game for more than five minutes without having to watch 1-2 minutes of ads. There is literally a 1-2 minute ad after everyone 1-2 levels. We cant see an option to buy the game and it is practically unplayable with all of the ads.

Changed our rating from 5 stars to 1. After playing through the original levels, we had enjoyed the game enough that we bought one of the premium levels for $10. IT DOES NOT WORK!! We complete a puzzle, but the game doesn't register that it is completed, so we can't move on to the next level. We contacted the company but got no reply. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME.

Loved this simple puzzle app… But it immediately got deleted after it auto-played a video ad with full sound on (phone was on silent mode.) we don't mind an occasional ad but quality control is important.

Thank you for this game. The music. The challenges. The Apple TV and iMessage version are also great. It's so much fun. Honestly. We would of given 10 stars. Wish you had in for the Kindle. Our son loves it as well.

This game is amazing and fun to play on your free time. There are so many levels to play and figure out, each one being a unique design. This game is also very peaceful in a way that we like. It kind of helps us relax and let's us have fun at the same time. This is a great game and you should get it.

We don't do many game reviews but for this we have to! It's such a beautiful designed and relaxing puzzle game. We love puzzle games and we test a lot of games from the app store. This game is wonderful to play, beautiful interface, relaxing music and lots of levels. Please keep up the wonderful work – we love it! Looking forward for many more levels and challenges.

We wrote an earlier critical review that did not appear when we came to update it. We were put off by the seller's stated promise to remove ads with any purchase of hint packs Apparently, he/she did not intend for that to apply to the minimal 99 pack. The seller came through like a champ, however, and retroactively did remove the ads. Apparently, it was an honest oversight and all was made good. And the game does deserve 4 stars…for now. There are so many puzzles at each level, that we haven't had time to try the more difficult ones. The MEDIUM level is proving a little trickier and really showing the game's promise. Fully expect to update this review to 5 stars. RECOMMENDED.

Can't sync progress between ipad and Appletv, otherwise it would be a five star game.

Such a fantastic game! There are a lot of levels supplied in the beginning. But each extra level pack costs $10!!!!!!! That's pretty darn steep.

First ad that appeared in game was a quite violent and (cartoon) bloody ad for "Despicable Bear". The ad's tone doesn't seem to match the tone/family friendliness of your game.

The app doesn't show up in the settings for cellular data usage. We erased the game because we were unable to control whether or not the game used cellular data. Since we pay for our data we should be able to control which apps use it.

We paid $3 to not get ads on this game, but sometimes when we open the game ads still pop up. We don't get ads every 5 puzzles now but we still should not be getting any ads… Still a decent game to waste time but 2 stars for lying and making money off of us by us paying to remove ads, then still making money off ads, and not any ads, but ads for games by the same developers of the same game, so you can make money off of us there too, we just find it a little scummy.

This is a dull game. It is connect the dots only less rewarding: no real picture, just geometric lines.

We really enjoy this game so far, just finished all of the easy levels. Each puzzle (so far) is short but interesting. Our favorite thing is how forgiving the game is if you make a mistake; no need to restart the level.
