2,989 has been our top score for quite some time. Keep hoping we can break 3,000. We love the simplicity of the visuals in this game, as well as the challenge it provides. We use it to wake up our brain each day. We know this isnt the most recent version, but we prefer it over squares2. We would love, as others mentioned, an option to disable the sound. Even more, we would love to be able to choose our rewards. When we lose our rewards on a wallpaper that has very little function, it is disappointing. It is helpful to us to have more color palettes, as we have some visual and light sensitivity. Certain color combinations are more soothing to the eyes. The only color option we can currently use is the one with the black background. The other background colors are visually disorienting. We hope you will consider updating this game. Thank you for creating it.
At first glance simple. Many levels to get you hooked.
Squares appears to be a simple game. You must arrange three of the same colored squares touching each other within a larger box. The points rack up and the goal is to beat your best score. It's much more logical and strategic than it appears. And it's a whole lot of fun and we feel like we're actually using our brain VS just drifting off as several other apps tend to do. Get this app!! It'll become a fave, for sure.

Very fun game… It is very difficult on the higher levels but very fun at the same time, you should install it. We have had a great time. Not that many ads (good thing), so yeah you should totally get it.

This is a fun game and we've found it to be pretty addictive. Would rate 5 stars but it needs some option controls. There is no way to turn the sound down or off in-game. You have to actually turn the sound of your phone off to stop the game from making noise. This is inconvenient.
Love playing this game and listening to podcasts to wind down at night but the sound issue has never changed in the past 4 years of playing it. Please add the option to turn the sound off so we dont have to hear the SFX in the middle of our music/podcasts.
This game is super fun, we really enjoy it, but whenever we try to get a new color, blocks, or wallpaper, it gives us an error message and crashes and also takes our gems. Which we don't really care about but we would like to get some new colors, blocks, and wallpapers.
Would give it 5 stars if it had the option to turn down the volume!! Inconvenient.
Fun game, but dang…. Ads are too much. How do we get rid of them? It would be helpful to have some instructions too.
Fun game, but. The pop-up ads for other games drive us nuts. We'd gladly pay to get rid of them, but it doesn't offer that. Often we just shut down the app. One of these times, we bet you, we're gonna delete it altogether.

This is a perfect little game for what it is. It is both relaxing and challenging–tempting but not over-the-top addictive.
Squares, to the average observer, is a game with little more value than quick play sessions. Exploring the concept in more detail, however, one finds a genuinely unique concept draped over a tried and true genre (pick up and play). The "painting" mechanic, by which the player chooses where pieces go is one we have not seen before, and it breathes life into a style of game which has, in our opinion, gotten a bit stale. With that in mind, we greatly enjoy the random system by which new color schemes, block styles, and wallpapers. This brings to the table a robust customization system, a feature which we believe is the hallmark of any good mobile puzzle-type game. That being said, even with the gem multipliers earned from watching ads, the rate at which these gems are earned feels slightly slow. To be fair, with Squares' fun gameplay, this is not a huge issue. Overall, we'd definitely recommend Squares to anyone looking for a game which is simultaneously mindless fun and a strategic masterpiece.
This is a great choice for quick, pick-up-and-play sessions when you're waiting for something to happen, though long sessions will get a little repetitious. Still, it's an original and pretty addictive game, and you can't beat the price.
