Description

This is the racing sim that >I< think we need.

The physics are as realistic as those in X-Plane, with engine power, tire cohesion, and aerodynamic drag and downforce all accurately modeled.

The tracks are the most fantastic things I could dream up… tracks that… COULD exist.

Now, with 500+ horsepower supercars and realistic physics, you can tackle those tracks that only exist in our imagination, but COULD be built in reality if we ever dared…

And, with in iPhone 6+ and a cheap Google Cardboard headset, you can do the whole thing in 3-D VR… which is really quite amazing. The world looks HUGE in there!

Updated on 16th December 2019

New physics:
DRAFTING! Based on research papers on drafting to reduce drag, we now have lower drag behind other cars… time to slingshot!
Now here is where things gets interesting: Drafting also reduces the drag of the car in FRONT as long as the cars are very close, so you can also get a push by having someone tailgating you, as you ride their bow wave! Drag reduction can be up to 30% by drafting the guy in front, and up to 40% by riding the bow wave of the guy behind you… but the cars must be VERY close for this bow wave effect to happen! Can you use this drag reduction to get faster lap times?

Physics-tweak:
Car moments of inertia are a bit refined to be a bit more accurate… this reduces tumble rates after accidents as well.

Bug-fix:
Post-race on-screen score now shows the score you just got on that lap, not your current BEST score!
This lets you see if you just set a personal record the moment you cross the line.
BEST score remains displayed on the mission cards as always.

Stradale Racing Simulator Reviews

Fabulous! The physics of the game is the BEST of any car game ever made, including all the Forza and all PC and console games. Please do another racing game using the same physics!

This game keeps us entertained for longer periods of time than we originally meant to play 10/10 would buy again though we wish it had controller support.

We hardly know what to say. This game so beats any other car game ever made, including all the AAA PC games. This game changed our life, gave us inspiration. A masterpiece of extraordinary racing. Truely a groundbreaking title. The physics are totally real.

This is the most challenging, hardest, but at the same time, funnest driving experience we have ever had on our iPad! We know the graphics arent the best but the driving physics are unmatched. We honestly hope that the developer continues with updating this as we would really hate to see this one go. Im a 47 year old pilot that mainly plays flight sims but this one has most definitely made our favorites list!

This is a very fun and at points challenging. One thing that would make it a bit more fun would be more customization option that could even tweak each cars performance a bit more like aerodynamics or engine tuning.

A unique meld of over the top Hot Wheels-like courses and full Newtonian physics. Challenging, and satisfying. An option to adjust the FOV would enhance the experience considerably.

After some update the other cars got much more aggressive and we cant finish a track without being rammed from behind. No way we can find to set the number of other drivers or their skill level. Unplayable. Sad. Used to like it!

When we first got this game on our old iPad 2 with ios 8.x on it the game ran fine. Now the game interface, which is supposed to be landscape, shows up sideways with half of it going off the screen. Its a landscape mode game but its forcing portrait mode, even when holding the device in landscape position. So this makes half the interface, especially the start button, missing. Impossible to play now. Even if you try to use a force rotation tweak on a jailbroken device, the game ignores it. Last known working version was 1.14 which is no longer available.

This game needs touch controls then it would be better then five stars.

So many options and customization. Best virtual reality app for iPhone thus far. Challenging and high replay value! Awesome!

Stradale is now our favorite racing game. If you enjoy motorized vehicles, and appreciate realistic physics, you need to get Stradale! The X-Plane 10 and Stradale game engine push our iPhone6+. We love it!!! We want to see these two apps at the top of their categories in the App Store. Please keep developing these titles.

The graphics aren’t the best but this game is awesome. We got all 12 cars available. It has a mode where you can make your own track. It also has a BNSF train. We think there is about 7 different types of trains. We highly recommend getting this game. It also has down force physics. When it says that thing about fantasy violence it is just some red that comes up on the screen when you crash. The cars can be hard to control so we recommend this game for people 12 and up. If you have an iPhone 6+ you can put in the Google cardboard thing if you know what that is. Please support this company and get this game so they can make more.

This is some next level stuff! Its very epic and fun! It is a bit challenging at first but once you get cozy with the controls, its truly amazing. Definitely worth the money. One of the best guys, please make more!

It was really tough at first but we got hooked. Descent graphics for an iPhone. The train jumping is awesome. We need everyone to buy this so these folks can build more like it!

This is a great game we got it when it was free :) and our awesome track that we built its amazing the physics and everything is great :) we recommend getting this.

We’re really enjoying Stradale on our iPad Air 2. It reminds us of the Atari classics Hard Drivin’ and Race Drivin’, both of which took care to simulate core driving mechanics as accurately as the technology allowed, but with crazy tracks. The controls are accurate – we’re finding virtual buttons for gas and brake with tilt steering emulates the driving experience well. And it’s hard! Which is refreshing – a lot of us grew up with games that made no effort to hold your hand and this carries on that tradition. Trying something again and again until you nail it is immensely more satisfying than being assisted by a malleable A.I. That wants to give you a participation award.

Really love the game. Very entertaining.

The graphs are good but not the top quality compared to the best games today. We would like a realistic cockpit and dash in car. To feel like you are actually drive the car. We don’t think the red splatter paint is necessary.

Awesome but needs crash physics that is all.

Everything is perfect but one thing really annoyed us. Sometimes when we are starting our journey up a loop, our vehicle suddenly falls through the road, crashes, and then throws our car into a random direction. We can usually fix this by deleting the loop and adding a new one but it really has started becoming frequent.

This game is really amazing! Track editor is great too.

This "game" is amazing. It’s very realistic, and making your OWN tracks with ANYTHING you want in it is very nice. Only one thing, whenever you’re editing a track, it takes really long for something to load (for something to change and the "working now" disappears. I’d like it to load faster plz. Otherwise, 5 stars.

We never play games. But Austin released X-Plane 10, and we noticed this insane car app. We are laughing and flying… Crashing and dying. More fun than we’ve had in a long time. Wow. PS: "Drive with Austin" should be a CarPlay app. You would hate our driving.

We didn’t like it at first, but we’re getting the hang of it now. The controls have a learning curve. One thing we hate is that when you crash you have to start over. We wish you could choose to continue from where you left off.

Great game nice physics but why oh why does everything have to cost money?!?!?!?!?!

We can’t belive they can update this but not xplane for ipad.

We can’t buy some cars! How can we buy cars without involving real money? But Austin here is great. What a comedy guy. Hahaha.

WHERE IS THE RESTORE PURCHASES FEATURE!?!?!? We bought this app and bought some of the cars. Its a great app and its a lot of fun to play. The physics are really nice, and although the track creating feature has a bit of a learning curve, it is enjoyable. However after we deleted te app and reinstalled it, there was no way for us to get our cars back.

Nothing in this game is free the game charges you to drive not fun. When the game gives you an option to play for free during the test drive it asks you for your password to your apple account. Never on earth will we get this game or an other game made from this company again.

That’s right, you get to drive a couple of cars… ONCE, and then you must shell out a s#*~ load of money. Not the $.99 or maybe $1.99 that this entire app is worth, but $36.00 friggin dollars for the whole app. Man, from a company we once respected a long time ago… We don’t know. What a bunch of sleazy people.

This app is superb. The physics are a a real as x-plane and it works fantastically as a racing simulator. One recommendation we would like to see in an update is the ability to turn the headlights on or off whenever you want. We have difficulty seeing the track sometimes during sunset or in heavy cloud cover. Other than that, fantastic app. Five stars.

This may be one one of the best driving games we have ever played! The physics are great and the graphics are stunning! We love that you can create or modify the tracks. Great job!!!

Finally a racing game on the iPhone with an actual physics engine! The sensitivity for the controls is spot on and calibrated perfectly. The only problem we have is the fact that you have to pay for the cars. Honestly we would much rather pay $3 or $4 and get 5 or 6 cars with it than paying for each car individually. That alone would normally piss us off but the physics and controls of the car are just so satisfying that it doesn’t bother us that much.

Being an X-Plane user for some time, we are pleasantly surprised to see something like this coming from Austin. Despite some of the IAP cars, we believe it is worth it. Stradale is a superb simulation of racing and driving physics. Of all the racing games we played on mobile devices this truly is the most stunning and stands out the most. One thing we would like to see in the future is support on computers and third-party add-on development just like X-Plane. Keep up the great work!

This driving simulator pushes the limit of ipad and has some of the best graphics we have seen on the device. Frame rates are stunning. Calibration settings make the driving experience very immersive. Driving dynamics feel extremely realistic. We may have to go out and buy a wheel and pedals now.

We gave you a 5 star rating because it’s a good game but it needs to be compatible with iPod 5s and that stuff also needs work on graphics but it’s a great game.

This is an awesome car sim with amazing track designs! Each car needs to be purchased to use but all tracks are open once you buy at least one car. It’s a challenge to say the least!

The app is ok for new to the AppStore but you can’t drive on the tracks you have created and everything cost money.

Quality simulation that is fun an challenging. But the purchase system is fouled. There are lots of (incomplete) tracks, all of which are available from the first time you launch the sim, but only if you buy the cars to drive them. There are four base car models with roughly three variations each, none of which have a virtual cockpit. Buying one variation of the each of the four available cars will run you $23-29. More than that, the prices don’t even appear to be present in sim. So if you hit "buy" and enter your password, you might be unknowingly dropping up to $12 on a single car if you forgot to check the in-app prices as they are listed in the App Store. Be your own judge, but practices are a little too shady for us to support. The test drives were fun, but into the trash it goes.

What’s the point of even downloading when you immediately have to pay for IAP. Just put a price on the game. Greed is all too well infesting developers.
