If we fill in the final number on a square in a box, the pencil marked number in other squares in that box as well as squares in the corresponding rows and columns should automatically disappear. As it stands now, we are required to manually do the removal.
Enjoy this app but after phone upgrade to iPhone 14, scan game from photos doesnt work, sees photo but does not process into game. Still works on our older iPad. (Also tried on another iP 14 as well)
Used to use this app all the time. Its fairly easy to use, notes feature could be better, would be nice if numbers grayed out when no more left to place; but the app became useless to us when it would no longer accurately scan images:screen caps of puzzles from the newspaper. Sent in feedback, never got a response, still broke.
We enjoy using this app when Im waiting for our turn in line or to be called back at one of our Dr. Appt. We also play Sudoku during commercials. Its just our go to for keeping our mind sharp. If you havent tried it, your missing out ! Gigi.
… Does it call itself "QR Reader"?
Scanning used to work great but with recent updates hardly works at all with our local paper. What changed? Also, if we reset a puzzle we have to clear notes in each cell. Reset should clear all notes. Now they are not showing after reset, but entering a note brings all old notes back. Overall a good app. We prefer it for solving the puzzle in our morning paper.
This sudoku app requested that we pay a $2 weekly subscription fee but did not offer any additional features or service. Felt a lot like we were being tricked into paying the app owner for no reason. Also negative reviews written from the app do not actually show up in the app store. All around shady.
Latest version will not allow clicking X when presented with the ad upon start!
We loved this app and used it to download the sudoku from the newspaper. Doesnt work any more – bad job!
Edit: The issue has been repaired, and Im playing Sudoku again! Thank you, TapMedia, for rapid response! – Feedback and Support doesnt work with our app (free version), so we hope this review is read by TapMedia! Since the latest update, the bottom of the screen has a gray area that makes the bottom row of the puzzle inaccessible to view 7, 8, & 9 pencil entries. It also pushes the puzzle up too high to access the top row under the ad banner. Love Sudoku, and hope it is available for use again soon.
After the latest update, we can open the app, but when we try to open up a new puzzle, the app crashes. Please fix. -Edit: the issue has been fixed, so Im changing our 1-Star review to a 4-Star review.
The game is o.k. For a bare bones Sudoku game. There is a very annoying ad for DocuSign which displays a flashing signature. It flashes almost to the rate of a strobe light. It could possibly trigger a migraine or worse for someone. We cant even play the game when its flashing above. Developers, please get rid of this ad.
Aggravating. Useless scan from camera. Locks on hint.
While the update was welcome there are few issues we have encountered. Firstly scan from photo is significantly degraded. We scan 4 sudoku daily by using screenshot. We’ve been using the app for at least three years and the scan is almost perfect. But this new version misreads numbers every time. 3, 6, and 9 are problematic. Can this get fixed? Since the sources are identical Im assume some change to your algorithm. Secondly, the top few pixels of the grid are hidden by the menu line. For example a pencil mark for 1 shows half the number. We use large text size so that might be significant. Finally, some UI changes are not intuitive. We scan 4 screen shots. The old version had back and + at the same location. So there was less finger travel. Now menu and + are at opposite sides of the screen. Not a good design.

So much neater then using pen and paper.
The only thing that would make it better is if the entered numbers were also black.
The small numbers are hard to see even on a 6plus. Black letters would be easier to see.
Works fine until you need to rely heavily on your numeric notations, then they start disappearing! We will be deleting this app. The bug with the notations makes this more annoying than fun.
The numeric notations partially disappearing when you either hit the back button or exit the app really is disappointing. No way will we pay for this app.
Great idea. Failed in execution. This app is worthless.
All these other people that rated this App good must got some reward foer this app. Theres is no support. There is no Hint Option. We are not about to pay $1.99 for an App to removed AD. If it is really free because we are using the free version . There is no support or hint option. Like most of these apps in the store once you paid then they removed the app there is nothing you can do. After a while they stop updating them . That usually happen after you paid.
It’s hard at first but once you get the hang of it’s really really fun and easy so if we were you GET IT!!!!!!
On the road anywhere it’s a good deal of fun for all us nerds!!!
The puzzles are fun but some of the easy and hard seemed to be the same strength of hardness.
We get that free apps have ads but constant flashing buttons ?! NOT POSSIBLE TO USE.
