Suguru – Puzzle Game Review
![]()
Suguru is a Puzzle/Entertainment game from Aliaksandr Uvarau, first launched in 6th November 2018.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 257+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Suguru Stand Out
Suguru, also known as Tectonics or Number Blocks, was invented in Japan. These puzzles have very simple instructions, but a very wide range of difficulties, from easy to insanely complex.
Suguru is a great logic puzzle with two very simple rules. The cells in each puzzle grid are divided into groups, and each group contains the numbers from 1 to N, where N is the number of cells in the group. Thus, a group containing 5 cells will contain numbers from 1 to 5. The second rule is that no two adjacent cells, including diagonal, can contain the same number. Despite these two rules, some puzzles can be incredibly difficult to solve.
Don’t be fooled by the size of the grid, and Suguru’s apparent simplicity. This is a puzzle that can, at its most difficult, challenge the most experienced of solvers. Be warned, this is an addictive puzzle like no other, and a uniquely satisfying one.
In our application, we have created 6000 unique levels with varying degrees of difficulty. If you are playing Suguru for the first time, try the level “Novice”. Each difficulty level contains 1000 unique levels. Where level 1 is easiest and 1000 is the most difficult. If you can easily solve the 1000st level of one difficulty level, try the first level of the next level of difficulty.
This Puzzle game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
It has no ads and it is amazing.
We love Suguru puzzles and this app fills our need. Complexity isnt too high. It takes about ~6-10 minutes to solve an expert level puzzle. Our only complaint is that the app occasionally freezes and needs to be killed and restarted.
Love this game! Keeps the mind active, and entertained at the same time.
This is a good one. Free to play and no ads. Play right through no problem. The puzzles start out very easy and it doesnt take long to figure them out. There are many skill levels to challenge you. Good job guys.
Love the game, but the interface completely freezes and stops responding every 10-15 minutes while playing, and then we need to restart the app every time. This is very annoying. Please fix! IPhone 13 running iOS 17.5.1.
We are thrilled to have found this app. Its such a great game and we love that there are so many levels available. If we could offer any suggestion for improvement, it would be to have the fill empty cells option only fill the cells with the numerals in that sized grouping. So in a five-cell grouping, only populate it with numerals 1 through 5; no 6 or 7. It can be slightly tedious to remove those obvious extras. Other than that small thing, perfect app.
This is a fun game. Well worth the price. Please, when filling the empty cells, please dont fill a 2-cell, for example, with numbers greater than 2. Removing those manually is not fun.
We really love the app! It is fun and challenging. The only negative we have is we would like to be able to reset to beginning to start over on our progress. Would highly recommend this app.
It looks easy at first, but it grows more challenging as you go up in levels. We wish there was a capability to mark all candidates, would make it more fun.
Suguru expert level #816 does not have a solution.
Excellent and uniquely engaging puzzle, kind of like a Sudoku 2. The app is simple and easy to use and the different difficulties work well to suit whatever level of challenge you are in the mood for. The only thing we would change is either adding a scroll bar to the list of puzzles, or the ability to just pick a specific stage number. Each difficulty has literally 1000 levels and if you want to try out the last one you have a lot of swiping to do. Still, a great game and absolutely worth the download.
We love these refreshing puzzles :D.
We also have the app on our Android tablet.
It's the same game as "Capsules", which is in the NYT's Sunday magazine occasionally. We'd been looking for a book or app for months, but hadn't realized it had other names, too. We were very happy to find this.
Great app. Simple intuitive interface.
The difficulty levels make no sense – level 1000 expert is no harder than the other levels to solve. 6000 puzzles yes, but the difficulty does not increase, so we deleted it.
