We love this game so much we play it about once a year so we can try to forget it a bit and enjoy it every time. It's so beautiful and fun and funny and creepy and good.
We recently downloaded this game and so far was completely enjoying it, no issues whatsoever and it felt like a unique game environment. Unfortunately, after we updated our iPhone 11 Pro Max to the newest iOS 16, rotating our phone sideways makes the lobby screen turn into a warped stretched version of itself. We are posting this information here in hopes the devs will be made aware of the issue and can resolve it. Im unable to find or click on any in game link to report the issue due to the nature of the issue itself. We will, of course, update our Star Rating as soon as this can be fixed and the game can be played on our device again. Im super looking forward to that because it was really interesting and had a dope soundscape we were eager to further explore. Edit: updated our rating to 5 stars after seeing that the devs fixed this problem. Im so thrilled. Playing it again now. Im just sorry it took us a year to check back and see that there was an update addressing the issue we had. We love this game.
Im not sure if its our device that is the problem, but we cant make it past the 2nd part because in order to complete a puzzle in it, we need to move the screen around. But we cant because clicking and pressing on the sides of the screen (like it told us to do) doesnt work. So now im stuck halfway through the second part.
Great game! However theres a bug where we cant get a dark moon sprite. Its the level where you need to strum the waterfalls from smallest to largest- the waterfall with 4 streams doesnt light up despite strumming them in order.
The loading takes forever- paid game but cant play, wont load.
Love the game. Love the soundtrack. After listening to the music in the car our 9-year-old wanted to play but every version of the game seems to not work both with iPhone and iPad. Super bummer and hope the glitch gets fixed. Anyway we can get a refund for the mini version we just bought would be appreciated? Its only $3 but we think on principle it would be nice? That way we can have half the cost to buy the Switch version? Unless theres help on the way.
We havent played in a while, and it doesnt seem to be working on iPhone 14pro max. The rotation is weird or something but this game is sooo good, we hope it get fixed. But we understand if it can keep you with the hardware.
Theyve updated one of the greatest games (including the stellar soundtrack that we still think of today, over five years since our last playthrough), after many years where its somewhat sat untouched. Perfect time for another playthrough, we had only done the one long ago and didnt want to do it on a non-fitting screen format.

Im trying to play this game on an iPad but the landscape mode of the game is not functioning since the latest iOS update. Please update.
[iOS 16.4.1;iPhone XR] game must be started in correct landscape orientation then device flipped to upside down portrait mode in order to even start the game The image in the viewport stretches when device orientation is changed. The position of each tap is not correct in that stretched mode. Player can see height above (sometimes below) the playing area where some items are resting off screen. Possibly unaccounted notch.

We have an M1 iPad Pro, and this game doest work on it.
First time we downloaded it, we had the rotation issue. The mage was heavily pixelated. We decided to delete and try again. Rotation seems fine, but all we get is a spinning record. Nothing to start the game.
Itd be a cool game if the rotation wasnt broken. Even with auto rotate locked it still rotates wrong. Ive been waiting years. Please dont abandon this game. We cant play sideways.
Game wont open. Deleted and reinstalled with no luck. We have iPhone 12 Pro Max. No way to request refund. This is a first for us which is a shock that this game is rated so well. Game must not be supported anymore. Dont waste your money.
We really want to finish this game, but it's currently unplayable on our iphone 13 pro max. When we rotate the screen, the app stretches to a really thin aspect ratio, and the touch input is not aligned correctly. We emailed throigh the website and haven't gotten a response :( we hope this gets fixed.

One of the best games on the App Store! Ive come back to play so many times its become like an old friend. The story, musical score and atmospheric genius just draws one in. There are amusing moments as well and the entire package makes for some mighty satisfying game play. The artistic value is a very nice addition to the genre. Love, love this game and need a sequel…amirite.
This game is a somewhat short, but great adventure with great environments and an amazing soundtrack. We would totally recommend playing this game, even if it is sometimes confusing.

We bought this game as a bit of a spur-of-the-moment purchase, and it turned out to be hands down our favorite game on the App Store. Its just a crazy beautiful journey of a game and we would recommend everyone plays it.
Ive said for years that this is the best game Ive played. The story is so memorable, the music so perfectly synchronized, and the gameplay so simple that we keep coming back to replay it. We can highly recommend playing on an iPad as the larger screen makes the touch controls much more manageable for some people. If youre even slightly considering downloading Sword & Sworcery, this is your sign to do it.
This is kind of the Big Lebowski of video games: its strange, has a completely unique tone, is like nothing else youve seen, and it sticks with you long after you see the end. Its the closest thing to visual poetry in game form Ive ever seen. We still play it, years later.
We are in love with this game. Ive played through it 3 times throughout the last 4 years, and it has never grown old. Sure, there is not a lot of free exploration, and waiting for moon cycles can be slightly annoying. However, the fantastic story, cute moments, nostalgic art style, and absolutely incredible soundtrack by Jim Guthrie are what really give this game its depth, and truly make it a game we wont forget. The intertwinement of rhythm and battle also leads to satisfying fights, despite the slight repetitiveness. We would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys adventure games, it is worth the price, and will provide a peaceful, fulfilling experience.

We remember when we were 5, we were trying to get this game but we couldnt, 1 because we needed to know the password and 2 we didnt have any money. So last year we looked up the game and we couldnt believe it It was still here after all these years, so we got it and we were so happy and excited,we couldnt believe Id get to play the this game, its was literally the number 1 thing on our bucket list to do. So after we finished the game we were like Amazed, the graphics where amazing the music and the sound was amazing and to top it all off best storyline we have ever seen. We were like there needs to be a second one explaining the after life or something like that. This is an old game but it still growing and still great! Make something out of it NOTE! This is not a game with flashing lights and or fighting every second, people who hate this game dont deserve to write a review or to play this amazing game. This is a game that takes time to finish, this is a game where you explore and there are secrets at every corner. THANK YOU.

Seriously one of the best games that Ive ever played. It is right up there with Final Fantasy two and three for us. Please give this game a try. The music and story are incredible. We have played it all the way through multiple times over the past few years. You wont be disappointed.

We thought all iOS games were made for the primary purpose of sucking money out of gullible people willing to pay multiple times to enjoy all a games content. Well now we've been proven wrong. This game is astonishing. It's the prettiest 2D game we've ever played. Quite hard to believe this is 7 years old even. Buy this game.

If you can't figure this game out, you don't deserve to review it. The story, music, and gameplay are very cool and captivating. It's not for anyone looking for flashing lights and instant gratification from alarms and dings. Probably one of the best mobile phone games we've ever played. A random guy who longs for games like the late SNES RPGs he grew up with highly recommends this game.

The soundtrack is 1/2 of the game for us, and this game's soundtrack is AMAZING. Oh, and it shines in every other aspect as well, in graphics, storyline, and game play. When we finished the game for the first time, we thought about it for days afterwards. Buy it, and support the geniuses who made this top-notch piece of entertainment.
