Loved the game but was disappointed that it wasn’t a lot longer.

We really enjoyed this is the graphics were great in the storyline was very creative. Just the right balance of hidden object and other activities.

Best game we have played for awhile. Bring. On more.

This is an older game, so the hops arent as varied as in modern games. That said, the rest of the game is great! We love live action characters, they make the story more believable. There is not a customize option in the difficulty menu. We played on Professional difficulty, with no hints or skips, and we had no problem. There is a teleporting map. Nice long game, at one point we were surprised we had only played 42% of the main game (the main play screen shows your progress.) Mini games were unique and varied, and ranged in difficulty. We felt the bonus game was almost a throwaway; no story to it, just trying to continue escaping the house. Hops are visited more than once, which we’ve decided we like. All in all a great, fun game to play! Real rating of 4.5 bumped up to 5 because we feel the overall rating of 4.0 is too low.

This is an extremely enjoyable game. Fast travel map, everything works beautifully, some different and challenging mini games. We really liked it. To us deserves a higher rating.

We found the game a wonderful distraction away from our troubles. Thank you so much. We would have liked it to be a little longer. We are even willing to pay more for a really game. We are 69 years old and we find this helps our mind a lot..

Good game with challenges and work to get through the game, but not so hard that you’re pulling your hair and throwing things and quitting. Got it. Really fun.

Clues keep you guessing, jumping from room to room Is exciting, Keeps you on your toes guessing.

We love all the mini games and thought provoking challenges!

Great game. We’re kind of stuck on one part but we will find a way.

We love this developer, and you know why? Because they write good stories behind a good solid game. They clearly spend money in not just the games coding and rendering, but in paying good writers that make the game more interesting. That said, it is an older style game. The HOGs are a bit dated but they are still enjoyable. The only thing we have to quarrel with in this game is the music. Please get some different tunes for your next game! We do listen and the music, if good, builds creepy atmosphere, something this game could use and would make it a 5 star, imo as hearing the same song in multiple games gets boring, not that the music isnt good. We absolutely love the premise, the art, the live actors (why dont more games do this now? Games are so much more fun with an actual human to converse with and solve the mystery!) Lastly, we loved the plot twist. Did NOT see that coming! XD.

The ONLY reason we’re not giving it 5 stars is because it won’t tell us what room we didn’t collect hearts in.

A house that feeds on fear – and morphs into a torture chamber to prey on your deepest darkest phobias. Live action actors, collect hearts in every scene. Decent HO, good puzzles, diary and transporting indicated map. A little slow between scenes, no custom difficulty or left handed option but overall not bad!

Fun,easy enough to solve! Like the 3D imaging!

We really enjoyed playing this game. Four stars because there are no custom settings. We like to adjust the refresh rate both for the Hint and Skip Buttons. Many locations, so the interactive map and responsive Hint button are essential. Cyndee beware – many spiders, both small and large! We will probably purchase the next game in this series.

Loved this game. Very intertwining… Just wish these new games would get the glitches worked out. Got halfway through first time when the gold key was being made. The part flew off the screen never to be seen again. Reloaded and played through. Glad we did.

After reading Kim’s review, did we dare play this game? Well we did and am glad because it was a good game. For those of you laughing your heads off right now, the mouse was cute (do we have a fever?) but we sure am laughing at those of you who are arachnophobic! Living on 10 acres of woods we think we’ve seen that giant spider once or twice, lol! Anyway the game played very smoothly. We didn’t encounter any glitches. It had good graphics with some 3D elements, which we know some of you found creepy. The cut-scenes were interesting, as was the storyline. There was an excellent journal to use. You only had to collect hearts (don’t care). All inventory was labeled and unfortunately there were no plus, or complex items. There was an excellent teleport map with marked tasks. That was good because there were quite a few locations and levels of this scary estate and we hate running around uselessly. Very lazy! The HO scenes had some variation, but not a lot. The puzzles were interesting for the most part, but we would have liked more of them. We deducted a star because we felt that the game was a bit short, even with the bonus adventure. Also, loading was not quite instantaneous between locations (but it wasn’t a very long and tedious load either). All in all we actually liked the game better than we thought that we would. Give us a longer, gorgeous sequel and we will play it! Happy New Year to the team and all others who bothered to review this game. Glad you’re back, Blueflier! The Dream Team Elite needs you! Thank you Kim for your amazing review skills! Let’s all make BigFish give us better and more interesting games in 2016! Ok everybody, get ready to start your diets! Like those resolutions ever stick, lol!

Truly not the best… Too short; puzzles not very puzzling; scenes were "jumpy" and why bother having a bonus game that was so ridiculous, short and…. Well, you get the point. Hope you do better in the New Year.

Imaginative and interesting. It shut down a few times. Had to start over.

Little logic to moves. For a while, the map was great, but then, nothing. The hint was needed almost the entire game to figure out where to go. The HO scenes were fine. The directions on several games were so poorly written that we just couldn’t figure them out, so we were forced to skip them. We don’t like that! And there is no hint available inside a puzzle, so you have to wait in order to skip it. One puzzle we got through several levels by chance. Even getting through that far, we had no idea why. Needs work, but not too bad. Not worth the $4 we paid for it.

The storyline makes no sense. The items you use out of your inventory for something make no sense either. Don’t waste your money!

We have been a big fish player for years and am disappointed by all the issues our last couple of purchases have had. The one that has us almost done with this company is the use of the hammer to break the pig. It takes several minutes to find the exact spot to make the coin come out. It ruins the fun and flow of the game. Please fix this.

First of all, we would like to wish all reviewers a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Holiday – whatever you may celebrate. We enjoy reading everyone’s reviews and hope you appreciate ours. Now on to the review: Spiders, bats, and snakes – oh our! All players with critter phobias might experience panic attacks, resulting in ghastly screams, scratching on walls, even being committed to the nearest mental hospital. This game has phobia overload. You, Sophia, and your supernatural loving sister, Hope, embark on a haunted house tour through a house that mysteriously appeared 3 months earlier. Right upon entering the house, a wall separates the two of you; and your sister is kidnapped by a menacing hooded figure. Will you find your sister and make it out alive? This game has a spooky, ominous ambiance elevated through exploration of a multitude of mysterious hallways and rooms, some where you will meet others who are being held captive by the "house" through their own phobias. The graphics are sharp and clear, and the artwork nicely portrays the haunted mansion experience. There are three modes of difficulty with no option to customize settings. The inventory is labeled, but we have not had to assemble any items thus far. The map has slightly sluggish transport to desired location, but it does note objectives to be done. You have a traditional journal to read the story as you progress. You also pick up informative materials to learn about the house’s history, such as a journal, newspaper clippings, and notes. The HOS are mainly word lists with some interaction; in some, you may collect parts of an object to complete a whole. The puzzles are simple. One example is to paint parts of a mosaic in accordance with a picture on a napkin. Nothing challenging. There is also a back button. You are collecting heart lockets in the locations, and there is an indicator letting you know that you collected one. The extras are nothing special and include a "Story", which you can see for yourselves. There were a few negative aspects such as the following: 1. Transition between scenes is sluggish, including via the map. 2. The mechanics are so noisy to the point of annoyance. Every time we use the map or journal or change scenes, a loud swishing sound blares causing us to play on mute. 3. Nothing unique or innovative about this game, and the HOS are quite boring and redundant using some scenes twice. 4. We need customized settings! 5. We experienced numerous glitches during HOS where pick up and use of items was finicky. We did enjoy the story and exploring the many different rooms, which was the best facet of the game. We guess it is still worth the purchase price.

This game is just OK the story line is interesting but it moves very slowly and it’s kind of boring.

This game has got glitches. In the hidden objects it will not hand over the items without tapping them 2or3 times. Also all through the game the hint button was misdirecting where to interact at. The ladder in the attic had us going back and forth. We finally figured out it was the door to the other room on the other side of the ladder entrance. Hint kept pointing at ladder. Other places also mis directing us too. We gave too much for this game. Im dissatisfied. We need our money back on this one. Its been nerve-wrecking. Please thank you.

We enjoy the storyline and the challenge of getting all the collectibles and achievements, but we still experience freezes and crashes after playing for almost a year. Time between scenes needs to move faster….. Very boring waiting…………

While most hidden object games play the same, the only way to find out different things like collectibles is by the tutorial. First it is obvious they recoded the pc game as the tutorial tells you to click things in the beginning. And its really confusing. Some of the mini games directions arent very clear and we had to refer to the strategy guide to figure out what to do. The back button in the upper right is the most annoying way to go back. None of the other games do that, unless on a pc. The bonus game… Horrible. Zero mini map to help guide you. Im hitting hint all the time as we dont play daily, we dont remember where we left off. Very frustrating.

We spent some money on this game because we though it was gonna last longer than THAT. We thought wrong and wasted our money. It was super short and some of the controls and mechanics didn’t seem smooth enough for the gameplay.

Wow! This game has a lot of glitches. It kept freezing up and we would have to go out of the game and open it again to unfreeze the scene. We’ve never played a game with so many glitches. The puzzle instructions were very vague and difficult. Some made no sense. We did play thru the game because it was interesting to us, but we sincerely believe more thought should have gone into this. Glad we purchased it at a discount.

There’s no custom settings, the graphics mediocre, the story line muddled, plain and simple HO/puzzles……. It’s just plain boring. We expect Big Fish and any game producers to gauge their games by current standards, at the very least, but should strive for more creativity, crisper graphics, exciting storylines, creative/challenging HO/puzzles – improve- update and expand…… We players deserve BETTER! Not to be dumbed down and certainly not games going backwards! Our expectations are as high as these prices! One word: DELIVER. Please. Thank you.

The graphics are okay… Just average. The inventory items have labels when you pick them up. The map allows you to teleport between locations and does keep track of places where you have something to do. The soundtrack goes in and out like there is some kind of programming glitch. The storyline is simplistic and game play is very basic. The puzzles are way too easy. It all combines to make this game feel very 5 years ago and not a new game just being released.

This game has rendered itself unplayable as it crashes every 30 seconds. We therefore did not purchase. Disappointing.

Put up with worthless Crap up to chapter 2 . Makes no sense. Waste of Money!

Worst ever and a waste of any money spent on this game.

What is with Big fish? Don’t they have a quality control department? Thought this was going to be a good game, but couldn’t even play it. The first thing we tried to pick up caused the game to shut down. Almost all of B F ‘s games, recently are full of glitches. That is why we refuse to download any game we can’t try before we buy. Big Fish needs to get their act together or they will not be getting any more of our money!
