A Glimpse into Triptoy Lite

Prepare to get your mind blown by this one-of-a-kind interactive visual kaleidoscope of experiences. This is a lite version of the full Triptoy app, and includes a small subset of the full app’s 70+ toys that will give you a taste of what the full app offers. Each of the toys are designed to be thoroughly relaxing and engrossing as a perfect way to occupy your attention during those tiny gaps in your day, or to get lost in for hours at a time.

Developed over the course of two years, Triptoy blossomed out of a love for shader effects, chaotic systems, and cellular automata. Over time, Triptoy grew to incorporate ideas from mathematics, physics, computer graphics, biology, chemistry, computer science, and abstract art. Many of the toys are inspired by or directly modeled after real physical phenomena and mathematical systems, but with an emphasis on aesthetic appeal and interactivity.

We have anxiety and have panic attacks but this game relaxes us thank you creator.

We were not expecting much, but this app turned out to be one of the top 3 out of the 20+ trippy visuals apps we tried downloading. It’s jam-packed full of fun visualizations, each with tunable parameters with funny names including "greeblyness", "branchyness", "viscosity", etc. One of the best features is that the canvas state is maintained when switching visual types, so you can use one visualizer to set up some crazy background, then switch to a different type and mutate your earlier setup using the new visual tools. E.g. Choose the rainbow swirls one, then switch to folding and it will fold up your previously drawn rainbow swirls. This allows you to do awesome compound visuals with layers of mutations. Our only suggestion for the app maker is that a couple of the visuals only display in a smaller square inside the larger iPad screen when in landscape mode. It’s minor and doesn’t affect how fun it is, but if the developer could make them all full screen in all orientations that’d be awesome! Either way, 5 A+ recommend this app to entertain your inebriated friends.

The first time we tried to open this app it completely froze our iPad. Beware!
