"Unruly Heroes” is a 2D action-adventure mobile game developed by the indie team at Magic Design Studios and published by Perfect World. The story is inspired by China’s first mythological novel "Journey to the West” and strives to bring players an innovative experience through a fantastical art style and hilarious plot.
Since the dawn of time, Buddhist scripture held the balance between Heaven, Earth, and the myriad creatures. However, as Evil’s wickedness began to grow, this delicate balance was thrown into chaos when the divine scripture was torn to pieces and scattered across the land. Those creatures that have encountered the mythical power of the fragments inherited unprecedented power. In doing so, this newfound strength kindled their heart’s innermost wickedness, turning them into horrifying monsters. With a world in chaos, a master and his three disciples accept Guan Yin’s decree and set out to reunite the fragments into a new scripture.
The game follows the journey of a master and his three disciples as they fight, solve puzzles, collect loot, parkour, platform and more on their mystical demon-slaying adventure. You must capitalize on their special attacks and holy relics in a battle of wit and bravery against demons to complete their pilgrimage in reuniting the scripture.

This game is a signature like a AAA title from a console point of view. It reminds us of Ori from Xbox. Ive spent a lot of time playing it since Ive downloaded it to our iOS devices. Shoutout to the developers.
This is the best side scroll Ive played In years. Well worth the $2.
We're blown away that this is a $2 game.. First minute playing and you know right away it's going to be fun with that familiar art style from Raymen games.. Every character is a blast to play with and they did a amazing job balancing the characters abilities.. We wouldn't hesitate on buying this gem.
We are just downloading this now and so havent even played yet. We just wanted to give it 5 stars right away to reward a game that charges you up front and doesnt have IAPs! Im sure they cant be making money at two bucks a pop though, so there must be more content planned on a buy-as-you-go basis. Which would be fine. Or maybe its not like that at all, we have no idea Ill update this review when Ive had a chance to play the game a little while. But thank god not another free game that immediately wants you to start subscribing to power packs and constantly bothers you to the tune of $20, $30 or more for the REAL game. We have stopped supporting that freemium model in all but a few cases where we think the game is not P2W.

Has been long since last time we played a decent action game on iPhone. Nice graphics and control. Recommended.

It should be 5 stars if they fix to disappear the layout icon when using with controllers. Developers, please fix this in next version update.
Beautiful graphics, sound, excellent progression. The point off is because the onscreen layout doesnt disappear when using a controller. We know its a nit picky complaint but 90% of controller games remove the UI when using controller. Update this and Ill be glad to update review.
The graphics are great. Level difficulties are not consistent. Some of them are ridiculously hard. We are playing it on our phone so the controller is not working well in Central Processing level. Also sometime, the camera views need to be fixed in reverse gravity levels, how would we jump on the a moving platform that we cannot see? Sometimes the target is out of the camera how the heck are we aiming and knowing where the target objects are at. Level designers dont seem to test their levels at all. They just push it whatever seems difficult. There are some bugs. At the level reload, critical objects are missing. For example, the vessel is missing at Lava Falls. There is no way to cross. There are reasons why Mario is the greatest game of all time and it will ever be.
The game has an awkward low resolution appearance and is panned out so far from the action that any player looking for basic clarity of gameplay is going to be instantly turned off. No amount of beautiful animation is going to sugarcoat these glaring issues. Also, switching between four characters who all play exactly the same becomes tedious and boring. You couldve had two characters and nothing would be missed.
Mediocre game. Its ok but controls were hard and we barely fought anybody, just tried (unsuccessfully) to keep from impaling ourselves on sticks until we finally called it quits and flushed the money we spent on it. Visually very cool but Just not a fun game.
Yeah the graphics are great, but thats about it unless u like jumping around all day and avoiding pitfalls. The heroes have special abilities but they are virtually useless since the fighting in this game is all but non existent. Oh this game had the potential to be one of the great ones but it falls flat, and now we realize why it was 2 dollars. U get what u pay for.
Wasnt expecting much, but Im genuinely blown away by the art style, mechanics, different challenges, and creativity! Love the Chinese mythology.
This is a beautiful, well made game. The Rayman influence is evident, but this game has a charm all its own. Its underpriced for its quality, so if you enjoy platformers, get it.
Well worth the price of admission. We wasnt sure what exactly type of game it was. Quality platform fighter broken up into worlds/levels, each one with 3 goals…coins, medallion coin, time. You can use coins to purchase skins and specials. You can switch between the 4 heroes as they have different abilities(dbl jump/glide etc). You can also switch to another hero when u die, then if you attack the soulof the fallen hero he revives. We are two areas in, with 4 and 3 levels in each respectively. We will update review if needed. We have had zero crash issues and the controls seem to be placed and sized well. High quality for the price.
This game is too fun!! Its like Journey to the West meets Rayman Legends! It has controller support its completely optimized for the iPad Pro, its only 2$ and its a full fledged title with really great action and gameplay mechanics!! Also the game looks beautiful!! It is definitely worth buying! Great job devs.
Just when we were starting to think mobile gaming had lost the magic it had back in the early 2010s, along comes this amazingly fun and beautifully crafted game to remind us that as long as talent and passion persist, the tradition of great games on the App Store will truly live on (even if theyre in MUCH shorter supply than they used to be). And its only two dollars. With no ads. No monetary gimmicks. Not a single catch. YOU LITERALLY HAVE NO EXCUSE TO NOT BUY THIS.
This games visuals look very cool. Havent had a chance to play yet, but giving five stars that that. FWIW.
We love it to death and really want to give it five stars but we cant because for some strange reason Im a bit into the beginning of the story and it keeps closing on us we have tried to change our settings even uninstalled and reinstalled yet it keeps closing if you could fix this we would be more than happy to give it a 5 star rating.
Good points 1 model is ok 2 Journey to the West story is okay Bad points 1 boring challenge 2 the buttons are too close to the edge of the screen ,whitch greatly affects the operation ,especially for devices above iPhone X 3 What does this English narration say?Has nothing to do with the original.
We bought this game from the Play with a controller section, however, it doesnt seem to support one.
We spent 2.00 for a game that keeps crashing. We have yet to play it. It loads then crashes. Very disappointing.
