We loved this when we got it years ago, but now its just super buggy. It pauses randomly and if the app is closed it resets your mon. Please fix.
The instructions say to hold down onto the screen for 3 seconds to pause the game but we do that and… Nothing happens… Gen 2 has a pause button and we think Planets has a pause button as well but we cant remember. In Gen 2, you dont have to hold down on the screen, you just press the pause button whenever you want to pause your pet which is super useful when youre not around to care for it, allowing it to live longer. Also please put Vpet Slide back as well, it was a very simple game but we got a lot of enjoyment when we had it and it had really cool music too. And if its in development, we would love to have a Vpets Gen 3, and maybe even one in color!
Go to settings, change the time to 1 day later (make sure you close the app and care for your pet before doing this), and after that, clean your pet’s poop, cure it, feed it, and train it. Repeat this until you get an adult. Be aware that this doesn’t always work, and sometimes it will result in your pet dying.
This does everything that the Digimon keychain games did, but calls itself a "retro simulation" instead of "worthless waste of time" or "developer has no ideas."
For those of you who can’t pause it go under the IPod settings app and scroll all the way down till u see V-Pet, then tap it and you can enable the pause feature. It works for us now.
This app is an amazing replacement for the digimon tamagotchi we lost when we were a kid. One thing: many reviewers keep saying they can’t pause it. You can! Just press your finger on the screen and hold it for a second or 2 until it says "paused".

When we were growing up we owned, still own three versions of the digimon pets and this is just like that only bigger and better.
Great job on the app guys! We saw some ppl said they didn’t know how to pause. .. Go to your main page, select settings, towards the bottom there will be games, select vpet gen1, then select "enable pause". Then just touch the screen for 3 seconds. Anyways, it’s a great game/toy. Brought back some good memories. We really like vpet gen2 as well. Hatchi is a decent pet, but vpets are better and more like the old tamagotchi/digimon toys. If you don’t remember theses toys type " Digital Monster (virtual pet) " into Wikipedia.
This app definitely brings us back to being a lot younger! Even though it’s not exactly the same we can’t help but check it every 5 minutes haha. Even had the option to make it hold just like the one we had as a kid! Other than never having any energy it’s perfect.
Awesome but it could use the ability to name your monster.(IT’S JUST LIKE DIGIMON!!!! ;)
It’s awesome but we hate that it forces us to download the gen2 to get energy, we don’t want to pets because that would be too time consuming.
Love this game! Too bad it’s not the original Digimon though.
We love the app as its very nostalgic for us, and it brings back fond memories of raising a Metalgreymon in the original digipet. We love the cross-game center battle feature as it makes PVP much easier. The graphics are very accurate and stylized like the originals. The only reason we haven’t given it 5 stars is the training mini game. It’s nearly impossible to get 100% consistently. It needs to be modified where it’s 80% or better breaks the wall. Otherwise, it’s an amazing app.
Oh how we miss our Pattamon… Only one problem: why can’t we shut the volume off???
It’s a fun app and we like it but we have it 4 stars because we wish there was a way to see how many care mistakes you have made. It would be a great feature but other than that we thinks it’s awesome.
Our vpet has energy and can battle,I’ll be searching for opponents often… WHO’S OUT THEEEERRREE!!?
We love this game and it’s exactly like the 90’s game but our VPet is now 3 "years" old and still has absolutely no energy and is being perfectly taken care of. Otherwise I’d give 5 stars.

The pause is off go to settings and you can turn it on.

Just got the app on the free weekend! We love the graphics. Reminds us the most of our original Tamagotchi P1 that we grew up with. Love it’s layout. Remains as much to a hand held toy as possible. We appreciate the pause button very much. Lets us play the game on our own time and not be a slave to it.

One of the 2 best retro virtual pets in the app store, this is the most faithful to the little keychains of old. Hatchi is also really good, but if you are looking for something just as challenging as the originals, this is your best bet. Demanding, fun, and faithful to the originals, vpet gen1 is the best option out there. Ryan, way to stick by the inspiration. There are other virtual pets on the market. What you have made is unique in that it does not have loads of new features and options. Don’t be tempted to overwork your product. Well done indeed.
Love the app.. We’re not reply sure why everyone is complaining about not having the original digimon characters. The game is already such a great version of it and deserves to stand on its own, in terms of visual creativity. Great job. Can’t wait for V2!

The saddest day when we were younger was when our battery died on our pet. That will no longer be a problem.
We have played our fair share of ridiculous pet apps, but this one is fantastic! We think the nicest feature is that there is only one in app purchase and thats for a background that doesnt affect gameplay. We like this because other apps like this try charging you 0.99 for food and stuff like that. This app truley is superior.

This is a great app that faithfully simulates the old digimon virtual pets of the 90s. Our only requests are a nicer presentation for the help menu and a new Training mode to supplement the existing one :)
