What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of strange tales about a family in Washington state.
As Edith, you’ll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she’s the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day.
The gameplay and tone of the stories are as varied as the Finches themselves. The only constants are that each is played from a first-person perspective and that each story ends with that family member’s death.
Ultimately, it’s a game about what it feels like to be humbled and astonished by the vast and unknowable world around us.

What remains of Edith finch is a game that keeps you on your toes, mysterious storys that lead to questions and answers that just keep going, so many things to find out!
Wow! Digital artistry and immersive storytelling at its finest. This sets a new bar for the art of the possible. Cant wait to see more! This is an amazing, highly interactive, totally immersive, story / game experience. We’ve never seen anything quite like it. The execution is flawless, the story is captivating, the part the player plays is intuitive and the game aspect makes you think just enough so you feel like you are part of the story telling. We really appreciate the ongoing narrative that stitches the story together while the player explores the space finding story nuggets and interacting with the environment. Somehow they do this without ever having a frustrating moment where you need to solve a puzzle before getting to the next part of the story. We are so impressed with the creators for building this experience, finding the exact right balance of interaction (at least for me) and pushing into a totally new frontier of storytelling. The story itself is wonderful – slightly dark but it doesnt feel creepy. The design of the world / house you explore is amazing and so creative and inventive. We especially enjoyed the select few games within a game that they created. We wont spoil the fun in this review but suffice to say that there are several layers to the interaction and several unexpected interactive twists. The software, interface, and general mechanics of this worked beautifully for us on our iPhone w/ iOS 14.8.1 (have not yet updated to iOS 15.2). Our only nit pick is that while we appreciate the stylistic choice for a desaturated and sometimes hazy color palette / display, there were several occasions where we wished we could see just a little more color/detail/contrast in the scene. Maybe thats just us though.

We bought this game on Xbox one and we were in love with it instantly, the graphics, the storyline, the music Its a beautifully tragic game that will always hold a special place in our heart, while the game play takes maybe an hour it is so freaking worth it!
This game is the best but is there a part 2?? But anyways we rate it a 1000 its the best whoever made this they should be the KING/QUEEN ahhhh.
We had no issues with game play, some things are challenging but it was great! We wish it had been longer and we wish every story app was this interactive. We dont recommend for young ages but as an adult we enjoyed it. We just couldnt break away. If you have a day to yourself and just want to relax at home, its finishable. Oh and when you get to the treehouse just approach the ladder and climb it. Theres no clue there.
Nah these stories were deep . And sad .
This sort of game doesnt typically keep us engaged, but we really stayed hooked for the whole thing. The stories are wild and tragic, the narration is good, the graphics are really interesting, and we love that its told in vignettes with different controls and goals and such. There were a couple of levels that we found really annoying to get though – specifically Sam and Gregory – but it didnt take us out of it. We know there are some Easter eggs/side quests/whatever so even though we played through we think we could get something out of another go around. We highly recommend the game.

Wow, what a haunting masterpiece! Storytelling at its finest, music on point, voice acting was superb! We grew up in Olympia and would vacation on the islands in the pigeon sound. The atmosphere was captured perfectly.
Cant wait to see what comes next.

This game isnt about well-timed jumps or quick thinking. Its a story that you live inside. We savored it over a week. Didnt want to miss anything.
It reminds us of Garcia Marquezs book One Hundred Years of Solitude. We love the narrative techniques in the game and we just cant stop playing the game to see whats gonna happen. The game worths 5 stars and we will recommend to our friends.
We love it the story the designn!!!!! The design is awesome its the most inspiring game there is something in it that is so unique we really love it we wish it was longerr and we also with there were more actions we can do or just have an option to walk and the house and look at the design again when game is done but we cant describe how this is game is beautiful it gives areally close vibe that is like home and family just wow! Keep up the great work amd thank you.
We love short, story-driven experiences and this game delivers on all fronts. Storytelling, atmosphere, emotion. We enjoyed it every step of the way. This is not really a traditional game, but rather something you experience. Obviously dont want to say much, but at 2-3 hours, its the perfect length to captivate you without overstaying its welcome.
We have played this game a bunch of times we got it from our brother and sister and we think it is the best game also the details are really good and this game is such our style.
WARNING GAME INVOLVES LOTS OF CHILD DEATH IN ITS STORY we think the graphics looks better than it did on our xbox…. This game is so replay able we bought it once we saw we could bring this game anywhere with us in our pocket! Enjoy walking around a house full of details to interact and see how nice they look including furnitures and pictures beautifully graphic.
The Game has a good story and we like when you read the diaries it has fun mini games. Sometimes the Game legs and kicks us out but turning down the hue in The settings helped a lot. The game is better than most mobile games.
We really enjoyed this game on pc and its an over all great port of a wonderful game with a few issues such as.. No way to adjust in game graphics to make it run a bit smoother. The game looks outstanding tho and plays great most of the time. Cant adjust look sensitivity. This is especially important during certain parts of the game such as flying as the owl and swimming as the shark. The controls are just too sensitive during those parts making it rather annoying. Performance loss when swinging the crutch during the comic book chapter, it just doesnt make sense. Other than that the game is awesome. 4.5 stars.
The game is amazing we just got it, but when we were play the Dawn mini game, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get the camera view changed, and we were getting really frustrated when it would take a photo and then make us wait just for us to AGAIN accidentally hit our screen. Overall great game really well made, but can you please fix the dawn mini game and make it a little easier for people on there phone, iPad, ect. Thank you!

In love with this game but Im stuck on bathroom wall and we’ve tried everything deleted the game started over after re downloading it nothing works . As we crawl through it shuts off.
We love this game, and we’ve watched many gameplays so we just wanted to play it for myself. It says we dont have the right requirements to play it and we should try on a different device. It says that youre able to play if you have an IPhone: 7th generation and up now we dont know our tech that well (Im only a kid) but we have an iPhone 8+, shouldnt that mean we should be able to play? Its a 7th gen and up?
Okay developers, please help us with this, our game is stuck at a HORRENDOUS resolution (I cannot even see the text it is so bad) and there is nothing in settings to change this. Also, there are black bars on the screen instead of full screen. The game is great, but we cannot appreciate the graphics because of this.
The game was actually really good the art was amazing and the animation was pretty good it was a little hard to walk but over all it was good the hardest part for us was Mollys shark part but it was still really fun this game is a must get.

Amazing game but when we open the baby gate and step down no matter what we do it glitches us out of the game and deletes the tab.

The graphics are pretty and overall nice to look at. There are some small bugs that we feel arent acceptable for a 5 dollar game but it was still interesting. A major issue was the fact the game kept crashing when we reached specific areas. (Im using an IPad which is relatively new) For example, it kept crashing when we finished Mollys story which was bothersome. We deleted the game and reinstalled it a few times and managed to reach Calvins bit. We finished swinging and the game crashed repeatedly. We’ve tried everything from restarting to deleting the game but nothing worked. We havent been able to complete it. Please fix this!! We really want to finish the game :c TL;DR: great game but it crashes often.
Intriguing story line and feast for the eyes, but even with the reticle on, we get motion sickness trying to play it. Im bummed we cant finish it.
We loved the concept and the characters and the look of this so much, but the controls are so unwieldy and at times counterintuitive that it took away from the experience. Maybe its different when its not mobile. If youre a story lover, Id still buy it, but go in knowing that youre gonna get frustrated with the mechanics.
We were looking for something with more problem solving and puzzles. This is basically a click to advance the story.
The story was going perfectly fine and it looked wonderful but when we got to the book in the pink bathroom it kicked us out of the game and it still wont let us play we would really appreciate it if you could fix that!
We suggest buying the pc version. The controls were really frustrating. It is a good story marred by bad mini gameplay.
This game is overall really good! We just have to day, we cannot reach the bathroom for calvins swing. It keeps crashing, and we cannot seem to fix it!

We started playing today and made it all the way to the Pink Bathroom scene (IYKYK). The story has been totally hooked, but every time we try to enter the next room our app freezes and closes us out. We have literally re-tried so many times today, Im eager to keep playing but the app is totally frozen at this scene. Such a bummer, we might buy it on switch but we dont wanna replay the whole beginning all over again yet.

The game itself is an amazing story, we watched a YouTuber play it when it was first released so we were excited to try it for myself. Turns out we got charged 36$ for the game instead of 5 as well as the game crashing every single scene change. Honestly upset we couldnt experience it open minded because we were already over it the moment our bank account gave the money.

Upon entering Ediths secret room (behind the book in her bathroom) the game freezes and force closes. Even deleting the game and downloading it again has not fixed the issue. We are running the latest IOS version on a 9th Generation iPad (an up to date iPad) and the game still freezes at the same point. Please fix.
Of what we’ve been able to play so far, its a really cool game with great narration. However it continues to crash when trying to leave Edies room through the bathroom, so most of the game is not playable :(

Game keeps crashing in the same spot. Story is interesting, but the game is broken. Super bummed we paid money for this.
We will never run this game again because you cant save and pause it when you need to. You cant even quit. We had to kill the process in order to do other things on our iPhone. Ridiculous!
