Dive into Word Cup

Word Cup is a word game in the classic genre of finding as many words as possible in a letter grid. If you enjoy word games, Word Cup is for you!

The game has a swift interface, supports different grid sizes and many different dictionaries. Using the Pass and Play feature, you can compete against family or friends.

By selecting the desired word density Word Cup can generate very dense (or sparse) boards. Dense 3×3 boards are fun, as are very sparse 6×6 or 7×7 boards!

You can play the game using dictionaries for the following languages: Danish, English, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Dutch, Norwegian, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish (SAOL) and Finnish.

(The English dictionary uses SOWPODS, and the US English dictionary uses TWL.)

We haven’t found a better word game out there we like better that we can play alone. Lots of features and options. Thanks!

Apparently it’s an acceptable Spanish word. We like the option to play in Spanish or French, unfortunately it’s hard to take the game seriously when it lists many words that can’t be found in a dictionary. Not a big fan.

Our students are driven insane by this game and are threatening to revolt! Help!! Here they come with torches and pikes!

We will sit a play this game for hours!!!

Fun game. Easy to play. Difficult to score high we enjoy the challenge!

We’ve played a lot of the boggle clones. This one wins because: Smooth controls Good use of color for new/repeat/bad Best customization of size and time Correct answers given and easy to see current ones Cons: no word lookup, annoying Game Center prompts.

Game is great to have on phone-can play quickly when waiting somewhere so time goes quickly–a little too challenging for me–quite a few words we’ve never seen or heard. But overall we enjoy.

Really fun and addictive. We would have given 5 stars if the game whittled out some of those words that seem completely made up.

It comes up with some strange words…

Though this might be a good game to play against 3 others at the same time, it costs money to buy and we don’t know more than one person that has it or that would purchase it… Especially not at the price tag of $2.99 (HA!) that they were selling it for.

We agree with the other reviewers who complained about the word list. It’s bad enough that there are obsolete and foreign words on the list, but when we clicked on some of the words, they don’t even have entries in the wiktionary!

Game will not let us invite friends. Game will not let us play against other players or even challenge someone. It’s great for solo playing but that gets boring fast.

A great game. Our whole family loves to play it.

This is a great word game, very addictive! Our husband and we play it all the time. Definitely worth buying, the free game froze up our phone because off the ads that ran at the bottom of the screen. Great game!

Fun, addicting game. Some of the words are strange, though.

Nice alternative to advert/marketing laden "Boggle". The only drawback we can see is that you cannot rotate the board. A small price for no pestering to buy other games or trying to get users to connect social networks for information harvesting. A nice feature is the ability to change the size of the board, something you can’t do with Boggle.

It is a great game but some of the accepted words are just ridiculous. Some are arcane or very specialized. We also notice though, that there are some words that have been accepted into English usage that are not allowable, but a number of questionable slang words are allowed. Nevertheless, it is a great game, but the scoring is skewed by the mentioned problems.

ATENCION, ANTES DE COMPRAR!! EL JUEGO TIENE UNA BUENA INTENCION EN PRACTICAR Y BUSCAR PALABRAS EN INGLES. EL PROBLEMA ES QUE EL DICCIONARIO QUE QUE SOLUCIONA LAS DUDAS EN LAS PALABRAS NO FUNCIONA CORRECTAMENTE. NO SE APLICAN LAS FOTOS CORRESPONDIENTES Y NO HAY NINGUN TIPO DE SONIDO EN LA PRONUNCIACION. LA EXPLICACION DE LA PALABRA DEJA MUCHO QUE DESEAR. SI ESTO LO SOLUCIONAN, EL JUEGO SERIA MEJOR Y MAS INTERESANTE.

The next big thing. Addictively challenging, it is the perfect assistant to our Words with Friends game.

Better than Boggle – you will like this one.

Missing a send a challenge type mode, but beyond that it plays really well.

Really enjoy this one and all the options. The upgrade over the free version is worth it. Pass and play in the car makes trips shorter for the kids.

Nice game, but twice today when we were doing really well it suddenly crashed. No point playing a game that’s this unstable.

Got this app to be able to switch and play in a different language. Playing with Polish had an incorrect letter that dies bot occur. Fix was in place in record time after we posted feedback. As promised – 5 stars :))

Clean usable interface. Expensive. Not sure it’s uniqueness justifies the expense as it’s pretty much like it’s cheaper competitors. Lastly, we hate the opening coffee cup graphic. A few simple tweaks and this could easily be a 5 star app. Other than these minor quibbles, one of the betters versions in this genre.
