Wordmaster is an addicting anagram game where the object is to form as many real words as possible based on a scrambled 6-letter word. With a massive dictionary of Official Tournament and Club Word List words, thousands of possible puzzles await you.
The goal of Wordmaster is to help you learn new words and eventually master the English vocabulary. To this end, Wordmaster gives you two ways to win each round: solve one of the 6-letter words or solve at least 50% of all words in the round.
Wordmaster has an active player community that contributes additions and removals to new dictionary versions, which are automatically downloaded from within the game. You don't have to wait for the next update to see obscure words removed or recognized words included.

We keep going back to it every day and we learn new words all the time! At the same time Im frustrated as heck. Our score could be twice what it is if you put real words in there instead of these pretend ones. Weird words. Of course you have to have weird words to get the best of us, miss vocabulary. Our score is over two million. How about you.
Ive played several different unscramble word games and this one is very very good. This game allows us to continue playing if we solve the master word or if find at least 50% of the words- – and we can shut down our phone without losing our place. Then when we return to the game, Im where we left off it. We like that for a small fee, we dont have to see all those distracting ads.
Lots of new words, a real challenge.
We LOVE this game and have been playing for years- we swear we have the worlds highest score lol. Its like the anagram iMessage game but you get to play by yourself! Thats what brought us to this game. It is beyond relaxing and Im absolutely addicted. We only have two small complaints, we never write reviews but we felt we really need to being that this is our favorite App ever!! We would love more options of letters, we feel as tho we get the same ones a lot!! It can feel a bit repetitive! And you guessed it.. The ADS. We totally understand that they need ads for revenue, good for them, but we have never in our life experienced ads like this. We get a 45 second ad after every single round, its absolutely overkill. Its gotten to the point we turn on airplane mode every single time we open the app so that we dont get ads. There has to be a better compromise for these ads, less often, shorter in length, ads that are more relvent, anything!! Thank you for the app it truly is our favorite.
Im happy that the game permits a win if the player identifies a majority of words. While we frequently solve 100%, there are many times we cant get the last (often ridiculously obscure) word or two. The one feature that annoys us is that it accepts some words and not others. Examples: some Greek letter names and not others. Some foreign words and not others. Some proper nouns and not others.
We love word games, like text twist but we like to know what we got wrong. These ones will tell you the words you missed. And even though we found the words in the dictionary. They are terrible words we never heard of. So we have a love and hate with this game. Its fun, but make the words everyday words. Not some word most have never heard of.
This was our go to time killer that was so soothing and relaxing. We knew a game would take max 2 minutes and now there's adds between the rounds which pull us right out of the groove. Such a shame they ruined a great thing and now you have to pay to get rid of them.
This game is really fun. But something we noticed is that when we put a word in and it denies its a word, when the round is finished, its right there. For example: we type in tom. It says its not a word. Ok, we keep playing. But when the game ends, tom is right on the list saying we didnt type it when we did! Like huh? So hopefully that can be fixed up please! Its kind of annoying.
Great game design, nice color scheme thats easy on the eyes, but just too easy to get much out of; if there were modes of greater difficulty (we.e. 7- or 8-letter word modes) Id consider playing this more and possibly purchase an ad-free version. (Also, not sure if its an issue with just our phone, but Id love to be able to rotate the phone sideways to play this!).
We love this game. Its super relaxing and when the ads started, it made playing the game no longer relaxing. It was amazing they did the ad buy-out, but our subscription expired and we can no longer auto-renew. We try to press the remove ads button and a pop up says the subscription price, but when we press continue, nothing happens. We hope this is something that can be fixed because we only really kept playing it so much because the ads were gone. Aside from this, it is a nice simple game and is exactly like the anagrams you can send back and forth via imessage, but its nice because we dont have to wait for someone to play us back or spam them to play a lot of games.
We have been playing this game for at least three years. We paid the subscription price to get rid of the bombardment of ads. For the last few days Ive seen ads again, asked to restore purchases & the ads keep coming back! Im happy to pay the subscription, but we shouldnt need to restore purchases. Please fix this.
Love the game, play it every day, is our "go to". Keeps our mind sharp throughout chemotherapy. But frequency of ads has increased and becomes quite irritating. Such a great game! Please pull back on the ads.
We enjoy this game, but the easy word list should not have obscure medical terms and plant species.
We are on the easiest setting and they consistently have difficult long words like rachis we tried the hard setting, it is the exact same. It would also be nice to have different time settings. Sometimes we dont want to rush. So hard to find a good word game.
We loved this app for a couple of years. Maybe a year ago they added commercials to it which were obnoxious long and took away the fun. However, they recently revised how they are doing the commercial ads and its reasonable now.
First, the bad (GOOD is next): we know its a small app and so we dont expect the dictionaries to be expansive, but since it makes you play every word to get a score on a given batch of letters, it is frustrating to see: a) very common words not listed (ex. Silo), while random nonsensical words like Nelo are required solutions. We might have nelo a little bit off, but as someone who gets excited to learn new words, we would have shrugged off our disappointment at a given puzzle missing a common word in the solution blanks if we didnt have to methodically run through each possible arrangement of letters (more on this is the good part of this review) to find a word, only to look it up after the puzzle and have it come up as an obscure baby name or a misspelling of some machine part fabricator. The GOOD: we like the UI and the styling. It doesnt glitch and it is a tidy app in size and in data/cache buildup. It doesnt shove a socal element down your throat like so many apps do now (even apps that dont allow real interaction but simply want to wear you down until you allow the app to access contacts). We like that you can suggest words, though this might also be where the gobbledegook comes from. It seems the team is small, and this is likely a labor of love. We also enjoy the gameplay. Its an anagram game, but the order of the blanks/expected solutions is in alphabetical order, adding another puzzle angle to it. We are giving it four stars because what is good about it is so good. And the ads werent too bad, considering the playing field of ad funded apps. But the word bank made it an offload for us for now.
We love this game but it gives the same word several times!! Needs to give new words as you keep advancing.
Love this game and unfortunately had to delete it. It used to be ad free now its unplayable and at $1.99 a month to remove ads, not worth the hassle Offer an annual amount for a price break and we might be back.

Often doesnt take common words and has the most obscure word for maximum letters instead of more common words for the same letters -.

Loved this game until the ads got out of hand and totally interfered with the enjoyment of the game. If there was a way to buy out of the ads, Id definitely come back. Otherwise Im afraid youve lost a long time fan.
We love this game, we like learning new words. We play it every night before bed. Its a great way to exercise your brain, or just reset during the day. TOO many ads now!! A huge influx of advertising in this game. We wish they offered a way to buy out of ads. None of them apply to us, they are just random and interrupt the flow of the game. It didnt used to be this many, and now after each round an annoying ad pops up and lingers until you exit out.
We used to love playing this as a relaxing game before bed. We liked that the ads were not intrusive, they used to be visible, but just a simple banner at the bottom of our screen. We could look at them and they werent obnoxious. Now, the ads pop up with no warning, blinding us with video ads that are not interesting to us in the least for cringey, awful phone games that we would NEVER play. We hate it! Please change it back to how it used to be. We would rather have the constant banner at the bottom rather than the sudden, blinding and jarring ads that take over the whole screen without warning, interrupting the game. PLEASE.
We have always loved this game, we play it many times a day. We have reached over a million points in one winning streak. Up until the last month, we have given it 5 star reviews. However, it is now bombarded with constant ads for ridiculous games we have no care for, it is extremely aggravating and it breaks up the flow of playing. These ads cannot be cleared instantly and many times they have locked up the screen and we have had to reboot our device to get it cleared. Loyal players should at least be given an option out of these ads. Too bad a great game has been ruined.
We used to play this daily, but now that they have updated with ads, the app will be deleted . Not worth playing anymore.
You can only play a few rounds without an ad for a game appearing. This started a few weeks ago and there is no way to stop it. Sometimes it causes the game to freeze. Very frustrating.
We love this game and play it every day, however, suddenly there are way too many ads. There are ads after every round and it is beyond annoying. Unfortunately thats the end of this game for us.
Used to love this game. It helped us fall asleep at night. Now a video ad plays after every round which is utterly ridiculous. On top of that, theres no way to close out of the ads unless you completely close the app and reopen it. Tried to contact support via the website but we were unable to even send a message in. Video ads have ruined this game.
We have played this game for many years and LOVE it until 3 days ago after the recent updates. Theres always been banner ads at the bottom and thats fine, but now after each round you have to watch a video. Completely ruins this game. We go through rounds so fast and now we spend way more time waiting for the ad to finish then we get to play. So frustrating and disappointing!!! We always play this quick game while waiting for appointments or standing in line but now the stupid ads come on and we have to silence the volume on our phone then forget to turn it back on and miss phone calls. Our high score is over 16 million and Im probably going to delete this game now because its no fun with the ad videos.
When we first downloaded there were no ads. Now today there are. Dropping what would have been a 5 star rating down to 1.

We loved the game. We really missed our original Text Twist on our old Nokia phone. We found it on the Microsoft site, geez we miss it. Your games was the closest games to it. Thanks.
Simple. No childish graphics, music or other annoyances. Solid execution, and yes addictive.
This was the first game we had on our first smart phone. We couldnt stop playing then & we still cant stop now. The only 2 things we would change is that we would like to see a previous button which puts the last thing you spelled back up again. That would cut down on some typing time. The other thing is we would make sure it doesnt repeat itself anymore. Otherwise, its great. Easily our favorite Word Game.
We do like the app, but wish we could change the colors. The red on purple background is hard to see. Poor color combo.
We love this app. We use it almost daily, and have for several years. We use it for calming, distracting, and word practice. We love the look and interface. Very easy to use. Unfortunately, there have been no legitimate updates in a long, long time. Maybe ever, to our knowledge. Im not talking bug fixes, we want a real update. New words, more options, etc. We cant tell you how many times Ive done the same words, some just a few round apart. Please, please update this app! Give us more! -Round 1070.
We really like playing this game, but the individual games are too repetitive. We see too many of the same word solutions over and over. Its disappointing. Needs more new games. Also we would love it if they had an option to choose a game with few solutions vs many solutions. Number of solutions changes the speed of play. A 2 solution game is entirely different feel from a 45 solution game. We prefer the many solution game and just skip through until we get one. But we keep getting the same games.
If you use the dictionary, the website's videos will autorun forever and will continually pop up during a timed game (and the clock runs down while the video plays!). Please fix this. Only way to stop it is to pause and quit. In general it has a nice style but we think the sounds are strange. Would be nice to have options for different sounds.
Ads are intrusive, annoying, and frequent.
We find this game very addictive, somehow due in part to the fact that theres no score, no history even. But we hate the crazy random vocabulary.
We enjoy sing this app. We understand that ads are necessary for the free version. One ad that is beyond impossible uses a blinking flashing red light. The intensity, frequency and duration can be mitigated. This player would appreciate the developers consider doing this.
Thank you for updating. The solid purple color is better but the red font for missed words is very hard to read and we have perfect vision. Also, can you add more new words to mix it up? Thank you.
Interface is good. Problem with popup ad that simply WILL. NOT. STOP. Something by Flexer. Totally ruins the game. Secondly, answers must be in alphabetical order or theyre rejected. Lots of real words get rejected because of this. Deleted.
Used to be our favorite word game. We havent played in about a year, though, and we wont again! Every other word we input causes an ad to pop up, over and over and over. Tonight we played 4 levels and saw the same add interrupt play 23 times! And we dont play the free version. We paid NOT to have ads! What happened? Nowhere to recall purchase. Really disappointing.
Until the injection adds popping up every minute or so. Deleting.
Used to love it. The new ad regime is too intrusive and obnoxious. Deleted.
Ive had the app for a long time. Loved it. But after we used the linked dictionary to define one of the words, its ads took over the game (as in at least half of our game time being ad time right in the middle of rounds). Advancing from one round to the next didnt help. We might play for 15 seconds and get a 15-second ad. Sometimes we get only 10 seconds between ads. The app is basically unusable now.
