Very simple free app. Helps our 4 year old trace letters and numbers. Definitely the most simple app but it is free so can’t complain. If we had to make 1 suggestion, we would suggest some kind of point system to be included to keep kids interested. Something that encourages kids to do 1 more board would be great.

We just downloaded the app this morning and am surprisingly shocked with the simplicity and ease of use. We wanted to see how functional this app was before allowing our son to use it. We found it to be a very smooth handwriting app that will not create the frustration that some apps we have seen do. Your learner will spend no time trying to make it work. Everything is simple and is not cluttered allowing the learner to focus on the task at hand. Your learner is offered choices, but few enough to avoid becoming overwhelmed and few enough to keep the activity going in the right direction. We personally have to be careful with our son taking an activity to a totally different focus. We like him taking an activity and making a new one during certain times, but if too many choices are available we can go down a rabbit hole and eventually come out having done nothing that was part of our focus. We often feel unproductive and frustrated when this happens. We allow plenty of time for creating and imaginative play, so the short spans of blocked intentional play based guided teaching Id like to remain in the general direction which we have planned. One choice is the color he or she will use when tracing the letter, numbers or shapes, another choice is either upper or lowercase. Enough of a choice to allow the learner to control some of the activity without changing it or even taking away from it. Great app thus far!

Very easy for repetitive practice! Our 5 year old does it and we watch her to make sure she does it right. Super easy and helpful!

We like that it is very straightforward in its approach for practicing handwriting! No distractions with sounds or music, allows us to be present and give instructions and praise along the way.

We like it so far, but I’d like the option to auto switch to the next letter/number/shape after it’s completed. We understand not wanting it if the child is just learning, but it would be nice to have an option. And maybe the letter/number should be vocalized right when it switches, so in case the child forgets to push the sound button, he’ll still hear what it is.

Daughter started kindergarten and she likes this! Easy to use. Would be nice for each letter if you could press a sound key off to the side of it to say which letter is on the screen. Would also be nice if it gave the option for parents to type in their child’s name so they could get used to tracing it. Overall great for simply writing!

The circle is an oval? The square is a rectangle? A little confusing for kids. Squares need to have same size sides or they look like rectangles. Please fix.

We heard about this app from some teachers and figured we’d give it a chance since it’s free. We like that there isn’t a high threshold for correct writing, but conversely, there is no feedback if a child was to scribble all over the screen and ignore the intent of the game. I’d also like to hear letter names and sounds each time. For $1.99, l-dots (Learning Dots) is a better option.

As a teacher, we are disappointed that it allows children to incorrectly form the letters without any type of feedback. Poor writing habits are difficult to break, once practiced.
