Community Insight:

We know we wish there was a custom option or just wait for every dnd race to be made. Cus theres a few still not in there. But we love the app new to dnd and its been fun! Plus our character can be in foundry vtt so its been awesome so far. We did take a look at rpg companion though prices are definitely higher 9.99 for ad removal where this one is 2.99. But the other app wants ppl to pay monthly, yearly or lifetime for premium? But doesnt seem fully done and not really worth the money rpg companion trying to market it for premuim. For us at least. We hope you add the other races like Geppettin and etc. Or see if maybe a way to do custom and have us do all the work and the app do what it does for other characters when we lvl up.

Ive really enjoyed the layout for the most part on this site, with good readability and usable descriptions for mechanics and such (pretty much the only thing we would add is a small icon or picture for the races to help those who dont remember the entire list) Anyways, the reason we have it at three stars: 4 out of 6 sections of the app actually work for us, those being the character creator, Party organizer, monster list, and items center are all functional (we assume the dice work, but we personally prefer what Mighty Dice has done for theirs. Our opinion could change based on future changes in that respect) The other two groups, the environment and combat trackers, only partially function. We can create or choose from the respective listings, but once Ive clicked create combat, it breaks down and kicks us from the app All that to say, Ive got enough to work with to use the app, but Id appreciate it if this could be fixed at some point (it could also be a problem of backwards compatibility, in that our phone is not updated to the liquid glass version yet.

We use this for everything and it's amazing.

Its really nice, dont need to be online. Has most the stuff you need, really fun to mess around and create characters and stuff. Only thing Id ask is PLEASE add lineages so we dont have to custom make a race for every Dragonborn lycanthrope. Only jokes but Id love for lineages to be separate from race or something you could add on top of race. We bet from a coding perspective its probably annoying so we get it but mmmm Id love it. Great app.

When we add Wraps of Unarmed Prowess into our inventory, we noticed that it doesnt influence your unarmed strikes at all. Other than that, this app is great.

We have been using this app for years, and Ive done so much with it create new, creatures, class, and character after character. If youre thinking about downloading this app do it do not hesitate to. It is incredible as we always give it to new or returning players because making new characters is a breeze. However after using it for a long time we can say that it definitely needs work in the UI department some of it can be clunky and not very polished. Also it is almost impossible to share and import .cah files, this app needs a dedicated import and export button. Overall we still give this app a 5 star because we can tell it was made with a lot of passion, and even with the before mentioned reasons its still a very cohesive experience.

Straight up better than DndBeyond WITH the subscription. The UI, better. The ability to view ALL classes, races, etc, awesome. Just, so much about this is just plain nicer. We also really like the homebrew capabilities, hence, the aforementioned question: Is there a way to add compatibility between DndWiki and this app? Being able to do that would be totes rad broseif.

Our D&D group uses this for all of our characters for the campaigns we play. We do a lot of homebrew and it is so simple to make and share with the group on this app, that it has allowed us to do so much more with our homebrewed setting than we ever could have hoped! We cant wait to see how this app keeps improving.

Could you please add in 2024 Players handbook please.

Great app love design and color scheme so easy to use.

This has been our go to app for dnd for a few years now. Honestly, we loved this app on the android, it has every feature we needed and a user interface. We use it all the time to make test builds or to create new monsters. It was 100% worth the $3 to remove ads. Our issue came when we switched to apple. There have been several bits of content that are buggy. Missing items (adamantine armor), empty feat descriptions (vigor of the hill giant), class features where feats belong (dedicated weapon), just to give some examples. Honestly these are just minor things since the app makes it easy to add your own content and edit existing content, it's just an annoyance. In any case this app deserves 5 stars.

Hello we have been loving using this app in all our campaigns. It gives us all the dnd stuff we need for every 5e thing. Our only issue would be that you cant make homebrew classes and races which is an issue since we have purchased some 3rd party books and need a backup sheet for them. If you could maybe fix this in a future update we would appreciate it thank you.

Im about two years into DnD and this app is so helpful?!? Its a dnd pocket book wonder.

Ive been using this app for as long as we can remember, and when we got rid of the ads it was like heaven. All of our friend are using this app and it helps us get an idea of our players early character ideas. Then biggest problems we have right now is that it seems that iPhone users do not have the same features that android users (which is pretty reasonable), and that sharing characters seems to not work for us. The only way Ive gotten character sharing to work is by using discord, and even then it doesnt always work. If theres anyway to fix this issue Id love to hear it so we can keep on loving this app.

This is an absolute go to for new or experienced players the developer cares about feedback and tries to make it as accessible as possible! They aren't just trying to make money they are trying to get more people into D&D.

We love the app!! All of the features are simple and easy to use. Im only caveat is that there isnt a Grung race within the character sheet maker. Please add the Grung class.

Definitely the best D&D app out there. The only other better character sheet might be D&D Beyond duh. The ability to add your own classes and races and creatures means you can just steal them off the internet which is pretty cool. If youre an interesting person and use homebrew then definitely try this app. The only thing we can ask is that it keeps being updated because we would always want more content from this app.

This app is amazing for creating characters, seeing spells, and viewing all the races and classes if you dont want to buy the books. That part of the app gets 5 stars! Now, the rest of this review doesnt matter to us as much, but the other features of the app are a bit lacking. The dice roller is unintuitive and not a great roller in general. The bestiary is fine, but the way its sorted is a bit janky. We dont understand the terrain feature at all to be honest! Theres not really a tutorial beyond just showing you where to find 6 different buttons, and the combat feature seems not needed. Overall, its an amazing app, but these 3 features dont really get used, and arent that useful in our opinion. If you are new, its invaluable.

This app is great, we were new to dnd and our dm told us to download this app. To have a easy experience with setting up and managing our character, and it did just that until we realized it was a lot of updates behind the android version. We are still on 1.0 and android is on like 4.0 or something we would like to see the iOS version get more updates. But other than that this is amazing.

We love this app, it can be overwhelming at first but its such a huge help once you learn it. Our only issue is sharing character sheets. We cant open our players sheets because we have an iPhone and them androids. Its frustrating when we want to do something cool for them without their knowledge but we need access to their sheets to do so and we cant.

Please add the astral drifter background.

While entering a Multiclass we made a Rogue 2 and for 3rd Level Multiclassed with Sorcerer. Our Sorcerous Origin is Shadow Magic, but it keeps not getting rid of the Alignment part of Divine Soul, which is the first on the list of options. So when we level up, we receive Shadow Magic, Good but thats not a thing. And theres no way of getting rid of the trait it gives us of Good Divine Magic as theres no way to edit the Information section about a character. Hopefully this issue can be fixed.

We love this app, it makes everything very simple in terms of simplicity. Adding feats and spell is our go to for this app. The only reason it isnt 5 star is because we would like all the spells and feats to be updated to 2024 rules. Otherwise we absolutely love this app and show to everyone we play dnd with.

Will be 5 stars if 2024 PHB content is added.

We absolutely love your app, we have begun using it for all of our characters in replacement of dnd beyond but we have one issue, we are on iphone and we take it that you guys havent updated the app for us in a while, it would be amazing to have the same accessibility as other platforms with this app and would increase its popularity among the iOS platforms.

This app is so close to being 5 stars, however frequent app crashes / glitches keep it from that standard. Still probably the best 5e companion app we have despite that. So close to being able to tell everyone we know to use this.

This app is great. Love it. But we are simply unable to filter properly through the items. It claims to be doing so, but we are unable to see a change like how the filtering on other tabs work. If you were to fix this, we would be greatly appreciative.

In theory, this is a wonderful app. In practice, it's super useful for making character sheets, but absolutely terrible for letting us import characters from our partner's app to ours, even the app is supposed to be designed to handle exactly that. If it weren't for the crossover trouble though, it'd be great app.

The character set up says something about multi-classing after you level up but Im not entirely sure how it works. We might want to multi-class a character but because of this Im not sure how to do it.

We really like this app, the only thing that could make it better is a file section, like filing your characters in sections based on like class, race, or your own folders.

Overall a good app with amazing features, but ultimately fails at copying over files. We cant use a file that a player has sent us over because it either crashes or doesnt load. Tested on both an iPhone and iPad.

Really more helpful to us than dnd beyond, but we are still waiting for humblewood and grim hollow to be in this app.

For one example its missing the subclass artificer armorer.

We downloaded this app on our iPhone because a friend we play with said it was cool and easy. We don't disagree. We like just about everything about it. But we are having one problem which causes us distress. Our friend created characters for us in the app as we are a D&D newbie and he also wanted to share a character he made for himself and we cannot seem to get it to open in the app. Any direction or advice greatly appreciated.

The app is great for getting ideas out and organized, and Ive used it to help teach new players how to get comfortable with a character sheet and playing d&d in general. However theres just one bug Ive been running into. One of our players wants to play the Unearthed arcana Prismari Sorcerer, but when she finished her character sheet and checked her information tab it set her character to a Divine Soul Sorcerer? Its a bit frustrating because her abilities arent there for her to look at quickly and she has to go find them in the classes tab So we tried this for her and when you put in your level, and then select class/race etc it just removes your level so you have to put it in again, and the cycle repeats, but good to know its getting fixed thank you :) Im sure theres a good reason but this is still an issue. Id also like to say another player and we have run into a different problem where sharing the link to a character sheet(when the app is open or closed) will cause the app to crash. Not sure this helps but the players Barbarian sheet works, but his fighter and Monk/Artificer dont. Would love to see this fixed but theres no hurry Im sure youre very busy :) Much love, a DM.

The app works great for most things we need. As a dm we have our players send us their characters they make on the app and add them to ours so we can manage the game. Now to the problem all of our players but one use iPhone to send us their characters and it works fine, but its the one that doesnt use iPhone. He uses an android and whenever he sends us his character it wont load into our app. Other than that the app works great just the issue with sending characters from android to iPhone.

Great app but on iPhone SE second generation you cant scroll to read spells and use a few other key features.

Very useful for a lunatic like us who has constant character ideas and has to write down every single one, but its not without its flaws. For instance, when creating a character sheet, the ability scores move from side to when selecting different stats. We don't know if this is on anything other than ipad, but it can be annoying. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! :).

Definitely love this app and the convenience it brings. Ive suggested it to our players when we DM and Ive used it as a player. We do wish you can sync data between devices. We usually have spurs of creativity and make characters on our phone. And if we want to use them in a campaign, we have to recreate it on our tablet.

Sometimes, when Id like to lvl up it doesnt let us, and only acts like Ive pressed the button. Its annoying and the only way Ive found to fix it is to copy our character down, delete the app, and then import it, then leveling works for about 5 more times max.

Ive been using this app for all our character for a few years it been good until recently when the iPhone app became behind the android app and now we cant download their characters which makes it difficult to run campaigns with the app.

This could be a great app if it gets updated with the 2024 PHB revisions.

We would love to use this app for our character, it seems very intuitive. However, the Verdan race from Acquisitions Incorporated has not been added yet. Any idea on when it will be added? 5 stars when it is! Thanks.

This is a fantastic, all-inclusive app for anything regarding 5e. However, theres currently a bug thats preventing us from being able to level up our characters, which is a little bothersome for a few campaigns when levels ups happen every session or so.

We love this app and have used it many times for many characters. However we are finding a weird glitch on the iPad specifically. We regularly use our android phone as well and the app works perfectly. On the iPad when we go to add items from the compendium whether we create them or not the app crashes. Ive reinstalled a few times and nothing is helping. Id love to give it 5 stars but this glitch is truly a detriment to the app experience.

From 5 minutes of testing: 1. Hp is not calculated correctly. 2. Ac is not calculated correctly. 3. It doesnt know youre armor is armor when it is in the equipment section. 4. It does not know how many spells you should have 5. No way to filter races / classes/ backgrounds, etc. 6. Does not let you pick background traits/flaws/ etc even though it clearly has the information (it can randomize them). Instead it allows for manual entry. 7. Does not calculate race bonuses correctly (for example: half elf +1 to any stats never gets applied). You will still need to have access to the written material for this to actually be useful. Even then, it will take all sorts of finagling to get it to say what you want.

Anyway it could have the Druid wild shape spell available to keep track of in the same way that barbarian rage is.

We love this app but Ive been having so many issues transferring our files to other phones. Looking up online there is no fix. Please fix this and it would be 5 stars.

We feel like this app has potential to be better than most other characters creation options for players. It has most of the SRD already in the app for easy selection. Not all the info is correct but a lot is. You can also homebrew to correct what is wrong. It neatly shows your skills, proficiencies, saving throws, weapons, equipment, and ability scores. Still it is missing some very important stuff. Our issue with it is that class and subclass feature dont show. You can go through all the work to homebrew a class and subclass but you wont see the features on the character sheet. This is the case for the original classes and subclass too. For example: we created an arcana domain cleric. We could see our spells and channel divinity, but divine intervention was not there. Also, none of the subclass specific features were on the sheet. It also does not show possible bonus actions or reactions. No point using this app if we cant see our abilities in our opinion.

This app has so many glitches its borderline unusable. We thought it was pretty good when we started, but it doesnt have any of the battle smith subclass in the app itself. When we went to add everything that the class got it repeatedly crashed. It was not worth the 2.99 to get rid of the ads. To be sure we did not enjoy this app. Giving it two stars because it could be good and Id like to see it be good.
