SPACEPLAN – Adventure Game Review
![]()
SPACEPLAN is a Adventure/Simulation/Education game from Devolver Digital, Inc., first launched in 4th May 2017.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 886+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes SPACEPLAN Stand Out
SPACEPLAN is an experimental piece of interaction based partly on a total misunderstanding of Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time. Use manual clicks and the passage of time to create and launch potato-based devices and probes from your nondescript satellite orbiting a mysterious planet. Unlock the mysteries of the galaxy or just kill some time in what the astrophysics community is calling the ‘best narrative sci-fi clicker game of all times’.
FEATURES
-
Fifteen starchy items to unlock, create, and blast into the vacuum of space.
-
Life affirming, silly story that will both captivate and help you kill time.
-
Reveal the secrets of five different planets across two different realities.
-
Banging soundtrack, as is customary in a narrative sci-fi clicker game.
This Adventure game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Player Experience Highlights
Community Insight:
Bought this game back in July 2017, a few months after the game launched. Loved every second of it, played more than 15 times. Came back in 2025 and its still a stellar game with a shiny new UI and more banger music. Very happy that the devs still care and try to improve. It looks amazing on iPhone 17 Pro. One thing Id like to return to the old version is to keep our progress after we see the ending. Forcing to delete the progress to start over was heartbreaking. Was sad to see our 13 billion watts gone just like that, which Ive stacked up over the years.
Just beat it moments ago. Starts off like an interesting idler but evolves into so much more. Loved it.
Great game with a really unique and fun storyline. Ive played through it 5-6 times over the years and have never stopped enjoying it.
A clicker, a little story, a little goofy. A couple dollars well spent. Always a nice experience to pay for a little game and get to the end and feel satisfied. We feel like actual people developed this for others to enjoy and in here for it.
Its exactly the type of game we love. It had a good pace and an entertaining story. There could have been more variability in play outcomes, but the story and changes kept it engaging. They style of it was great.
Do you enjoy clickers? Do you hate the nickel and diming culture of clickers that dominates the current iOS landscape? Then go ahead and spend the money to get this game.
Im just going to say we love this game. Im fan. Dont read anything just try it.
Can't recommend highly enough. Headphones are a must.
We loved it! We were looking for an idle clicker game and this was exactly what we were hoping for. The story and animations were delightful. The initial scaling up didnt take too long, and if we had to complain about anything we would say that each time we reopened the game we actually had too much money to use. Lol.
Really cool, trippy idle game. We havent quite finished it yet, but we have loved every second. The art style in this game kinda reminds us of monument valley and Im all for it. We are a huge fan of the snarky comments from the Word Outputter and just, overall have to say, great game man. Keep it up.
We usually dont write reviews, but in this case, this game was really good. Its kind of like a mix between a idle sim game and a space story game it takes around Id say five hours to complete. Its really fun.
We love a good clicker game, and this is no exception. The music is great, the visuals are great, and the progression is natural and rewarding. Our only complaint is it's not very replayable, and we finished it with about 2.5 active hours of screentime. That being said, this feels like a game we'd buy for $5 on steam so the price point still feels good for what it is.
Out of all the idle clicker games (cookie clicker, adventure capitalist, etc.), this one is by far the coolest. It is evident that lots of care and attention to detail went into this game. Bravo.
Worth the money. Excellent art style, audio and incremental.
It was the most beautiful sight our eyes could lay on. The ending was perfect. We think this is one of the best idle clicker games because it has an end. Price was definitely worth it 100% it is beautiful.
This was a blast to play through, just wish it had more layers of depth and prestige! Looking forward to any updates to it or future games of this style, we need more incremental games on iOS.
Yeah, it's basically just cookie clicker that you can play on ios, which isn't a bad thing, the gameplay is really seamless and clean which the swiping, sound effects and visuals are cool, if you like space and incremental games you'll love this.
We cant remember how long ago we played this game but Im ready to beat it again. Fifth play through lets goooooooo.
Polished clicker than you can finish in few hours, or take your time for longer. No ads or spam, just awesome experience through it all.
Engaging, existential, great art style. Immerse yourself in the story and you will not be disappointed. Short and sweet. Solid experience.
We think this shouldve been a free game because of the length, but if you dont mind the price its a beautiful game. Well built and great story. Though we do wish it was longer. It took us about 2 days to complete. With about 2-3 hours of gameplay. Again a beautiful but short story. Do recommend if you dont mind the price.
We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune. We hate Neptune.
We like incremental games, like This one and Universal Paperclips. This one has fun graphics and a fun story, we just wish it was a little more replay-able or kept going somehow.
Fun story, we loved how the gameplay changed but sad it ended so quickly. Once we realized we could change our iPad time we had it complete in 20 minutes.. But still worth it.
The 3$ price tag seems a bit high for the games length and depth. Easily beatable in a single afternoon without even active clicking.
Wanted to like this game but we beat it and it didnt take long. Started off interesting and strong. But for $3? Not worth it.
WAY too short for 3$. We beat it in 2 days with maybe an hour each day getting on it.
Yeah it had an end but the end shouldnt come a few days after buying the game. Im so deep into kittens game but this one was lacking so much depth and progression. Wouldnt buy again. Press back in your phone and look for another game. This isnt the one.
First off, this isnt really a clicker. Yes, there is a button you need to tap a bit at the start, but shortly thereafter, theres seldom a need to do so again. We remember enjoying this silly thing years ago, and we just had a blast revisiting it. Still funny and fresh.
Its well made game. Its a clicker game. But for a 3 dollar game we expected at least you have a endless mode after the main story ends. Even though the ending is creative, but to be honest, that ending was wayyyyyyyyyy to long.
From the art style to the jokes to the story, all of this game was incredibly well done, and then they rebuilt the game, making it even more amazing and jaw-dropping. We played the game years ago and enjoyed it but after a while it got boring. We came back to it today and saw the new update and said hey why not so we redownloaded the game and played for probably two hours straight. Every moment was something new, the developments were well timed and the incremental portion was well balanced. By the time we finished the game we thought what a wonderful way to close this games last scene was absolutely mesmerizing and we enjoyed every bit, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone. There was a bug we encountered sometimes where after we delved into Saturn we could not see the word outputters updates, it was stuck on something along the lines of hey theres alternate reality us and did not update further. Another bug we encountered was that if there was an animation going on and we were switching screens between the word outputter and the planet looker or system peeker we could not see it when we went back to the planet looker or system peeker, this happened mostly late game. Sorry we wrote an entire essay but we had to get all our thoughts out, this is one of our first reviews on this app for good reason, nothing compares.
We enjoyed this, well designed, and well written. Only take a few hours to finish it, not sure its worth the price.
Just curious if we could have a feature to lower the size of the font text! We loved the smaller font from the original update.
Felt a bit misled by the app description. This is a quick little game, fun narrative but completed in a couple of hours of semi-active play. We completed the game in an afternoon.
We dont regret buying this game. Its eaten time in a pleasant way. 2-3 days of sporadic play, and some replay value.
Hello all! Just wanted to write this review because of our long term adoration for this game. Ive replayed it multiple times and still enjoy the relaxing unique story based idle game that it is.
Fun & has character. Ive played it a few times over the years.
start game our brain: slow game five minutes later our brain: hehe numbers go brr.
Please add an update where we can restart and be able to earn more watts as a bonus a prestige mode this game is completely amazingly relaxing need more missions ability to visit and build up from different dimensions or galaxy meet more natives different vegetation upgrades to the ship add some cosmetics we F** love this game.
We played the browser prototype on our school iPad a few years back because it was one of the few games that wasnt blocked by administrators. We loved every second of it. A few days ago we went back to it, still unblocked and saw there is an app. We instantly went to the App Store and bought it not even hesitating at the $3 which we usually would. One play-through later and it will be staying on our phone for a long time, just waiting to be replayed. Thank you for making one of our all time favorite games.
This is a really great game yet short, developers should really ad a thing to the game where you can just play and build up and not have to restart the game but a really good game and one last thing you should make the game go on way longer and update the game.
Although we do enjoy incremental/clicker games, this is our favorite mobile game. Period. If you like incremental games, rich plots, time killers, and alternate realities, youll love this game. It is one of the few games that we give a 5 star, and this is genuinely the best mobile game ever. This is the Magnum Opus idle games.
This game is great but its too short.
We couldnt put this game down! No ads or micro transactions. Spaceplan is a clever, wonderful story and a tight, well-designed clicker game to tell it. Amazing work.
Dat ending hit us in the vibes.
We love this game. We think they did a great job making it and it deserves better reviews. Im still playing it and haven't beat it but so far everything is great and we honestly dont want it to end! Shame on the people who only gave this game one star.
Well the game is nice, plus TONS OF TATERS.
Although its not what we came for Im very glad we got it its an amazing game.
When we first downloaded this game we were sure it would be good, but after playing for about 30 minutes we realized how amazing it is. The game is so much more than a clicker, its a full on story. It brings you through this amazing experience with an A.we. That talks to you and explains things. As you go through the solar system in your spaceship you see tons of cool mechanical designs. There is an actual challenge, and the game has goals that you work towards making it one of the best and most unique clickers we have ever played. You will love this game even more if you are into futureistic stuff. We would definitely recommend this game to anyone who wants a mind blowing game thats not too long.
This is honestly the best mobile game Ive ever played, This space-styled clicker has a great storyline and amazing cutscenes, this game was such a great experience we would recommend it to anyone. The $1 we payed was definitely worth it. Such a great game.
