Backgammon is believed to have started in Persia, eventually finding its way to Britain with the Roman conquest in the 1st century and was played by Emperor Claudius who even had his carriage equipped with a playing board! It became such a gambling mania that it was declared illegal under the Republic.
Playing on the history of the game, there are 6 visually pleasing, rich board designs; Egyptian, Roman, Medieval, Victorian, Modern and Classic.
We also offer, out of the box, two classic game variations: “Old English” and Nackgammon. “Old English” is the most popular game variation in England. Nackgammon is a more challenging variation designed to add more creativity and skill to the game.

Im enjoying the game very much. There have been no ads so far. We cant remember if we paid for the game or if its free. We prefer games that we can pay a flat fee for and then have no ads. We will never subscribe to a game thats ridiculous. But we will be happy to pay a one time fee.
Its nice to try different variations.
Interesting that you can beat the game at its toughest setting. Get up to 64 on the Doubling Cubes.
Outstanding program. We Only play the "hard" level for the challenge. We are a speed player so computer mode works best for us. Recommend highly.

Ive been an avid backgammon player for about 40 years. Ive tried many BG Apps, and this is the one we enjoy the most. We play both online against unknown opponents and against the computer. We have played tens of thousands of games on this app, and have found it to be the most realistic play, speediest computer response moves, and good graphics.

Finally! No ads! We are learning the game and can actually play over and over without interruptions.
So we love backgammon and they are several to choose from here.. This one is the best as far as we see. We kinda thought reg backgammon was boring until we started playing Acey Deucey(sp?) several years ago. We hadn't found app to play it until today. Haven't run into problems yet…. This app also has two other types of backgammon as well. Loads of fun to play! So thank you for adding other game variations. We will definitely be sharing this.

The best backgammon game we have found for this platform. It cheats a bit and we have yet to see a tie for who starts first. Overall pretty good though.
Love that this game plays Acey Duecy. Like to see it available for multi-player mode.
This is much better than the other 3 apps we have purchased before. It still makes big mistakes but overall great. One of the mistakes is that it allows you to do a 3 pointer when it has a chance to move his pieces out before we finish.

Backgammon is a classic game of strategy.
We have played Backgammon through this app for years. We will never forget how grateful we were for having this on flight that didnt have WiFi and for 2 of the 3 1/2 hours we played this and ignored the turbulence. They also dont bother you with pop ups. All around good.

We play this game on our iPhone, and our 7 year-old iPad Mini, BUT we recently purchased an 11-inch iPad Pro. On that platform, the chips dont line up with the game board. They sit halfway between spaces. So we can only play it on our other devices. Thats too bad because we LOVE this game! They just need to keep up with times. 7/3/2022-we posted the above two years ago, but still no fix! Update 4/19/2024: we upgraded to the iPad Pro 12.9, and now this game works perfectly. Our best friend loves to play, and we have spent many an hour playing, chatting, and enjoying! We highly recommend this game.

No matter if HD or not… This game is definitely our favorite! Always challenging. We've had this since 2010 and still enjoy it today as much as we did when we first got it. We have had no technical difficulties however, we don't play online, in Game Center or any of that. Us against our machine works great for us! =).
Very good game play, particularly on hard setting. Graphics are great and the application is quick.
Great way to relax or work on strategy.
This version of backgammon has it all. We can't think of anything that we would add to the application. We were a bit concerned about the other reviews that complained about computer cheating but we haven't seen anything that we could statistically prove as cheating. There have been many games on the Hard level where the computer has been unable to get a piece back on the board for a satisfying number of attempts. We like that we can rotate the application to get the board orientation we're used to. We've been very pleased with this application.
We've played backgammon against the computer for a long time, and this is the best behaving least cheating game we've run across. Kudos to the developers and we give it 5.
Seems a bit one sided at times but overall a good game.
