What Makes River Raid Classic Stand Out

Enjoy this tribute to an Atari 2600 classic River Raid. Relive your childhood adventures on the river of no return.

Description:

Your mission is to score as many points possible by destroying enemy tankers, helicopters, fuel depots, jets and bridges before your jet crashes or runs out of fuel.

Features:

  • Fully unlocked game (no in-app purchases needed)
  • Ad free
  • Endless levels with many level maps from the original game
  • Responsive touch controls
  • Universal: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
  • Game Center

To learn to fly successful missions, you’ll need the sensitivity, touch and sharpshooting skills of a precision jet pilot. But that takes time and practice.

Good Luck!

This Casual game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Love playing this sweet game! Great stress reliever.

As maddening as ever. Nicely done.

Took us back to memory lane. Loved it! Excellent job.

Loved this game as a kid and great to be able to play it on our iPad now.

We’ve tried the other River Raid apps but this was the most stable and fun. We also love the icon, talented developer.

Please add controller support for River raid.

Good memory of the good old time. But the navigation arrows are so terribly placed that you have to constantly watch where your fingers are when moving left and right.

We were trying to move the plane to the left and it would not move. Then the next play it moves by itself and crashed into the side before we even touch the buttons. Not worth the money at all.

Ive had the game for about 30 minutes. The directional arrows are to far apart and if you have to take your eyes off the plane to see where your finger needs to be its already to late you crashed. The fire button can block the view of the plane causing it to crash into a wall and it has actually frozen twice and failed to start the game no matter what you do. The gas gauge depletes but you stand still not able to move or fire. A bug fix is definitely in order.

The controls are not very responsive and the app will not close. We have to shut our phone down and restart it to close the app.

The game appears to mimic the Atari version we used to love as a kid. The controls would be fine for a joystick, but are simply awful on a touch screen. You can’t just slide your left thumb to control the plane. You actually have to lift your finger and press the directional buttons. Did the developer actually use their own game? Waste of $2.

The game doesn’t have any settings for changing the controls to the accelerometer. You have to press on the up/down/right/left arrows to move the plane which makes it extremely hard compared to versions of this game where the accelerometer allows you to control the plane simply by tilting your device. Well that’s a 1.99$ we’ll never get back.
