What Makes First Words Animals Stand Out
More than just a game, First Words Animals is a powerful educational tool for the toddlers and kids in your life. It provides hours of fun, laughter and learning.
If your child is old enough to ask for your phone, they're old enough for First Words Animals!
- Now with French, German, Japanese, Spanish, plus British and American English *
First Words Animals will help your child:
- Develop fine motor skills
- Learn to recognize and match letters
- Learn the names of letters
- Learn the sounds English letters make (phonics)
- Learn how to spell words
Of course, they won't just be learning, they'll also be laughing and having fun with 45 of their favorite animal friends, beautifully illustrated and matched with entertaining animal sounds.
First Words Animals is toddler-tested and approved, with a user-interface designed specifically for the littlest of fingers. More than just a game, it is a sophisticated learning tool that engages your child, encourages exploration, and helps them begin building a deep understanding of the relationships between letters and words.
A variety of options let you adjust the difficulty level to match the abilities of your younger or older kids. In addition to English, your child can now learn the names of their favorite animals in French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
Kids can play First Words by themselves, but they also enjoy bringing their grownups along, talking about the animals, saying the names of the letters, and watching the animals spin around and sound off.
If your child is old enough to ask for your phone, they're old enough for First Words Animals!

You get a set of animal words for your child to spell for the initial $2.99, but must pay for all other word sets/games. Each one is sold separately.
He is learning words and having fun at the same time.
Our 2 year old daughter loves this app.
Our 16 months old baby girl love this app..worth buying for.
Our two year old son loves this app is very good.
Our daughter loves this game. She's happy, we're happy.
Our son is 16 months and this is his favorite app. It took some practice to first drag the letters, but within an hour he was blazing through the animals set and we purchased the other first words apps for him. He sits quietly and plays with these, clapping when he completes a word and saying each letter. Other apps do not hold his attention for more than 2 or 3 minutes. We couldn't be more pleased with this one.
This app is great! Our 19 month old son has learned letters and animal sounds within 2 weeks of playing this app! He already uses it without the letter hints! Keep up the good work! We plan on adding more of your apps to our collection.
Very intuitive for little folk – Thanks.
This is a great app! Our 2yr old knows all of his letters by sight because of this app. We highly recommend it.
It's a great app for children who are learning about sounds and music, colors, and numbers. It's a fun way to introduce apps to young children without the bombardment of ad cycles and ad knowledge of what you shop for.
This is our favorite app for our pre-schooler.
Our one and a half year old loves this app. He spells each word and now can recognize a lot of his letters. Thanks got a great game.
Great for two to three year olds.
Great for learning the letter recognition and sounds.
Our son enjoys this app for hours.
Both our 15 month old and 39 month old love this game. Very simple, match letter to letter to spell the word. Both kids love the short animation when you finish the word. And we feel like it's teaching them instead of wasting time.
Our 20 month old loves playing this. It entertains her for hours.
Our 18 month old daughter loves playing this!! We love it too because she is actually learning from it.
Our 18 month old loves it and asks to it play all the time:).
Great app! It has enough movement and audio to keep our son engaged. We love that he is learning vocabulary, letters, and words.
Our 19 month old grand baby loves this game. It's not for all babies this age, but whatever age your child is ready for it, he/she will enjoy the challenge. Great way to learn letters and how they form words.
We use it for speech therapy with preschoolers and with HS students in LSS. Everyone likes it a lot. The autistic preschooler we see is a very big fan (hyperlexic). After using the Lite version we had to get the paid version.
Great app, 2 yr old daughter seems to do well with it and we like the educational aspect of the app.
We love this game our daughter gets really entertain but we wished it had the different languages like the free first words game.
Our 2 year old daughter enjoys this game.
Has helped our 3 yr old. She loves it.
We bought this App for our (then)15 month son. As he's grown older, he's able to understand the alphabets; recognizes most of the words & the App still captures him attention for a long time. The options of using capitalized alphabets, spelling it out slower are very very useful. We would highly recommend it.
Our kids love this app we have spent much time spelling words. Our four year old can spell thanks in part to this with a two year old on her way.
This app is engaging for all our young students. It is something they can do on their own to learn. We all love it.
Our 1 1/2 year old learned a lot and puts all the letters where they go.
This is a wonderful app for introducing word creation to your child. This was one of the first apps we tried with our child with autism and it showed us the possibilities. Our son was engaged and delighted with every new word.
Our 19 month old grandson is always reaching for the iPhone and iPad but the other games for kids frustrate him. But he's in control with this and beams with accomplishment.
Our 3 year old loves this. He has autism, and this app has caught his attention like nothing before. He can use one finger to point at the screen. This is real improvement. Went to the doctor for a blood draw. He played with this app the whole time and barely paid attention to the nurse. A real life saver.
Our 18 month old daughter loves to play this application. It helped her learn her letters and spell. After a few times she played with this app, she recognized her letters much quicker. It's a simple application but a very effective learning tool. Money well spent for us! We have recommended this to our friends and their kid love it too.
Our daughter is 19months and she loves this game.
Our kids enjoy this game! Great app.
Teaches to spell simple animal words.
We bought the app for our daughter but she doesn't seem to be up to the spelling level yet. However, our sister, who also has special needs, loves the app. She will spend the longest time doing it and then our daughter loves watching her aunt play it.
Great! We love it! Is there one with capital letter too.
3 year old plays all the time and loves it.
Our 18 month likes this game…it's entertaining and educational.
Our special needs son just loves this app! He goes to it everyday! He has autism and looses interest in most apps right away. This one has taught him so much and he can't get enough.
Our son adores this game and it is really helping teach him his letters AND simple words. We just wish either the deluxe version was cheaper or that this had more words. This is a great starting app into the FW Applications an will let you know whether or not the $5 app will be worth the extra cost for your little one – which it will be for us once we have the extra $5 to spend! (we're a struggling single mom…).
Our two year old daughter loves his game!!! We love to watch her play it.
Our two yr old likes this game n so do we.
It's great with 1 exception, u need to fix it so the letters can only be placed in order. Our son loves this and it is helping with letters but not with spelling because he will put the A C T in for cat but that's how he spells it. If u fixed it so They can only put the letters in in order of how the word is spelled it may work better.
Our special needs daughter loves it. Teaches letters, words, fine motor skills, and matching. Highly interactive, with positive reward (instant gratification). We play it daily. We wish more educational apps were as good as this one! Opportunities for improvement would be to add a second level that would join words into short sentences and/or to create sight word stories after completing every 5 words. Perhaps this could be an option, that could be activated as the child starts to develop past the level of the current game.
