Roll Player is a digital adaptation of a dice manipulation, strategy board game where you will compete to create the greatest fantasy character in the role-playing world!

Gain skills and discover your hero’s traits to prepare them for their journey.
Earn Reputation Stars by constructing the perfect character. The player with the greatest Reputation wins the game and will surely triumph over whatever nefarious plot lies ahead!
At the beginning of the game, each player is assigned a random RPG class, alignment and a backstory. Through a series of puzzle-like dice manipulations, a player optimizes their character's attributes and attempts to maximize their alignment and backstory points. Earned gold is used to purchase various skills, traits, weapons and armor in the market phase of each turn. The game ends with a fully created character sheet of an RPG character and the player whose character has the most reputation points wins the game. The best character sheets are stored in the Hall of Heroes.

This is a great game. Just buy it! We realize how difficult it would be but if there is any way you could make this portrait oriented that would be amazing , as it is really a one-handed game.
This is a great adaptation of the base game; that said the Minions and Monsters expansion elevates this to a truly solid and repayable game. They need to add this ASAP.
This is a fun strategy game that depends upon a little luck. It takes a bit of time to understand the mechanics if youre not familiar with the board game, but its worth the effort. The only drawback is the inability to choose your character when playing the AI. Its frustrating. Other games that start with random assignments allow choice in their online versions (7 Wonders comes to mind). Why not increase the players satisfaction by allowing us to customize our starting characters? Its a frustrating aspect of an otherwise perfect game.

We like the premise of the game, it was challenging it made you think about strategies. Our problem is that Im colorblind and an important part of this game is being able to tell what colors of squares and dice.
This game is an amazing adaptation and the digital version is great, but suffers from the same problem as the base game: it really needs an expansion to flush out some of the weaker aspects. We sincerely hope that the monsters and minions expansion is being worked on.
Favorite app so far. We hesitated on buying the board game for a long time, and we are very satisfied with this alternative. Ive completed 6 games in the 12 hours or so since we downloaded it. Each class offers different challenges, and we dont imagine getting bored with this any time soon. 5 stars.
We love playing this game we just wish we could get the expansion packs too.

We took a huge gamble in investing ten bucks in a D&D style dice game. Dice games tend to get boring. D&D Games has never been our thing. But this game is amazing. Through our first play through we were like Geez, we wasted lunch money on this? But as we kept playing we got a better understanding and we love it! Its a puzzle game first with character story to keep the dice mechanics more engaging. And the formula works! KUDOS! If your skeptical, play the tutorial and just play through a complete game even if you dont understand and are just going through the motions. One or two play throughs youll catch on and youll love it.
Lol. Yes your games will disappear on occasion but don't panic. They will soon reappear. It is unclear to us if your time to play continues to count down or not. We're sure the company is working on fixing this problem as we and several of our friends have reported the problem. They make it very easy to contact them. We found the tutorial and playing vs the AI to be lacking in fun. So we thought we were not going to enjoy this game. That coupled with the odd premise for the game and we went into it with a very negative attitude. We were very happily surprised. When playing vs actual humans the game is a bunch of fun, and in order to win you can't use a set formula. You must take advantage of what is offered you and use it well. Normally a bug like games disappearing and reappearing would cause us to lower our rating by one star until it got fixed, but we're having so much fun playing this game that we think it deserves 5 stars even with that bug! Great game! We highly recommend it.

This is a really good app of the base gameabsolutely fantastic! We just wish they had developed the expansions too. That would bump this to a 5 star rating.
Title says it all. Very fun little strategy game, but solo play gets old fast. Would be great if you could completely customize a character with the full selection of classes, backgrounds, and alignments. We understand that this is based on a board game and the rules state you choose between two classes and are automatically assigned a background and alignment, but in the board game you could easily ignore this rule and create your own completely custom character from all available choices, so we see no reason not to add this feature here. Would add replayability to solo play. Also could very much use a high score table to track your recent plays, letting you chase your own high score.
From reading the other reviews, Im sure most people will disagree. But we found this game to be way too complicated. And the tutorial didnt help a whole lot. We went through it twice, and Im still confused. We had an easier time learning how to play chess. On edit: we received a very gracious response from the developer. So we added two more stars out of respect for that. But we think Ill keep the title, just to warn others who might be looking for a simple, basic game.
This is a really great digital version of the Roll Player board game. When we had first tried the physical board game we thought it was just OK, wasnt sure why everyone was saying it was so great. But that was a couple years ago, and now that Ive played this digital version, we love the board game and want to go back to the physical version again. Just purchased the new expansion for the physical version. Im so into it now! This app is very relaxing to play, fine little puzzle, great music to go with it. It makes the gameplay of the board game just so smooth. We hope they add all of the expansions! We will definitely buy them.
Our only quibble is that we want more of the expansions added here.

We purchased this app recently as we have had the physical version of the game for a couple of years now. We didnt really play the board game a lot but since buying the app, we cant stop playing it! Ive been having so much fun developing our different characters by drafting dice, purchasing traits, weapons, and skills. The dice mitigation in this game brings us back again and again as we try to make the best character possible. After playing this app for a week now, we purchased the first expansion of the physical game so that we can bring it out with our local game group. We can only hope they the expansion gets released for this app as well. Great fun.
Always wanted to play this one but could never rouse the group. Great game. Didnt experience a single negative thing about the game. Really hope they release online play soon.
A wonderful adaptation of one of the best board games of all time.
This is a fun and relatively easy to understand game. The board game with expansions is always fun. Both expansions add quite a bit so adding them will make this game fantastic even if solo. The app delivers a very smooth experience and the ability to undo a phase before final confirm is excellent. Also love the preview option. Great UI. Please add multiplayer or bring this game to Board game arena.
We hesitated for years to play the board game, erroneously thinking it wasnt up our alley, and the investment was too much. Then we saw the digital implementation was coming to iOS. This is our chance, we thought. At $10 its more than Id like to pay, but if you are in that same boatworry not. This is easily worth it. Not only do we love the game enough to go seek out the board game, but we also cant put the app down. Its so easy to hop in and play a game. The mechanics are engaging, the tutorial is perfect. Absolutely phenomenal work on this app. We are already excited to see the expansions make their way to digital.
Its not bad but we regret the purchase. Its very overpriced for what it offers. We would pay 5$ for this game max. Replayability is fairly limited.
Honestly we just regret buying it. Ive been waiting for a dumb down version of d and d this is not it. Overly complex for no reason.
Enjoying this game for some quick turns throughout the day. Some of the UI is pretty poor. Clicking through unnecessary screens that describe whats happening in front of us over and over is fatiguing. Sometime special abilities that are active are actually hidden (Bard). Never hide info. Good UX isnt rocket science folks! Hand your game to users that haven't played and see what goes wrong.
