"These two apps (Treble Cat & Bass Cat) are excellent for students to practice identifying notes on the staff. It is a great pair of apps to recommend to parents/students to use at home. I love how simple the concept of the game is — even young piano students will be able to independently use this app."

Community Insight:

Started using this app to learn to read music notation, it was really helpful. Challenged us to learn to read faster than we were and made it fun at the same time.

We're an adult learner, coming from bass clef. This app does a great job of building slowly, with a lot of repetition in various ways to reinforce learning. We love that we can pick it up and do a few minutes here and there when we have time to kill. We had been struggling with treble clef until we found this app — we have made a huge amount of progress in just a few days.

As an adult learner who has always wanted to learn to read music but has found it difficult, this app has made learning notes fun! Im thankful to say that this app has been the very best learning tool for us.

A great learning tool for free – without annoying ads. What better can you expect.

This game teaches us to get the correct notes and ledger notes all that stuff! Thanks for making this game.

Its so fun and easy also it helped us learn our notes in a week or two.

Im crazy about the cat apps! Im a flutist and instructor and we recommend this app to our beginning students to help reinforce their reading skills. But, why is there no Alto Cat? Our daughter is a young violist and there is serious lack of quality apps for learning to read alto clef.

Im an older music student. We just finished all of level 3 and we are going to complete them all. This is helping us very much. We like the cool music and beats. Relaxing.

We found our old flute and wanted to relearn how to read music. We finished all 80 levels in 2 days because it is really fun and we learned a lot. We played on our iPhone and had no issues using this app.

Memorizing the position of notes on the clef is fine, as far as it goes but why not reinforce that by sounding the note for each correct choice? Not all learning is visual, and Treble Cats failure to associate written notes with their sounds is a disappointing failure.

Our piano teacher introduced us to this app and its quite fun and addicting. It slowly eases you into memorizing every note for treble clef but its like a game so its fun to beat levels and keep progressing. We recommend trying to verbally say every note as they stream across, even if they arent the target notes.

This is the best app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our daughter has learned all the notes already!!!!thank you treble cat.

This is a great way to learn to read notes – really fun and effective.

Our music students have loved this app over the years. But now, everything they liked about it is gone – the bright colors, cool music in different styles. They groan when we pull it out when they used to cheer and beg for it. VERY disappointed! Why mess with success? Ill no longer recommend it to parents. What a shame.

We just bought two of these the treble and the bass then realized they are only for we-pad witch we don't use.we didn't notice that they were not compadable with we-phone. We just assumed they would be because the lite version was. We're very fruserated and am needing to know if the company might be kind enough to please refund us.

We're so upset. Please update the app to run with the newest iOS update. There is no longer any sound on this, Bass cat or Rhythm cat. We can't use these with our students if there's no sound. Please fix.

This app has helped many of our students learn note names and actually retain them. It's not ideal for very young students, but any kid who can work their parent's iPhone can use this app.

This app is great, in that it is not a "flash card" app. We like that it builds on one or two notes at a time. Excellent for learning notes or building on note naming skills. This app gets used quite often in our piano studio.

Our seven year old son has really enjoyed this app and he's learned how to read music too! His favorite part was stage five where it got really challenging. He thought it got more fun as it got harder.

If anyone wants to begin learning to read music, we recommend all of these apps! It's much better than taking a class, not to mention much faster and more fun. We had friends and cousins trying to teach us music theory but to no avail. We got this app and learned to read and comprehend music sheets at age 18 within a couple levels of playing for someone with absolutely no musical background. All of these apps are worth the time and money.

We just finished the first stage, only playing a little bit each day, and we are amazed at how much we are retaining. We have wanted to learn to read music for so long and this is helping tons. We love this app.

It helped us to learn what the notes are called, but there is definitely room for improvement. The tap targets are fairly hard to hit, and when notes go at different speeds and overlap, it can be impossible to get a correct answer. This game is probably not usable by kids with motor skills delays. It would also be a lot better if the notes played the notes that they are when you hit them. We think that Musicopouslos helped us more.

Excellent for classroom work with students needing extra support.

The set up of this educational music tool is perfect for those desiring to learn how to read music. It introduces new notes while reviewing old notes. The game format helps you to learn quickly. The background music is beautiful.

Our 11 yr old daughter used this game to learn her notes for upcoming bagpipe lessons. She has no previous knowledge of the treble staff at all, but this game kept her engaged, challenged, and motivated! Very cute kitty theme, nice features. She was so proud of herself when she finished it, and is ready to replay every level! She told us we had to write a review so that all the other kids and parents would buy the app and keep it being updated! :). Thank you for a really great music note learning app.

Our students love this app. Great music, good repetition, challenging. Only problem is that occasionally the notes flicker at the edge and don't scroll across the page. Reloading the app seems to solve the issue but it's a hassle to keep doing that.

LMuse has done a great job of turning what is normally a boring round of flash cards into a fun game our piano students will love. We're looking forward to seeing what kind of results this game brings to the Treble Clef reading skills of our students.

The game is a lot of fun and quite challenging at times. It's the challenge part that keeps us playing! We absolutely LOVE the game music and want to get a CD of it if one is available.

As a piano teacher, we would love to see a Bass Cat game and a Grand Staff Cat game added. The Grand Staff game would be most beneficial for pianists because that is how we read music. Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for your recent updates adding solfege and speeds. We would like you to unlock the levels. Right now there is no way to let the advanced kids play unless we play thru each level ourselves. Also when the notes are hit, please have the real note sound, not just an arbitrary pitch. Other than that, we enjoy this as a teaching aid.

We really like the concept behind the app. However, we gave it three stars because most of our students would not be able to use it because the notes move too fast for younger children. We will give this a 5 star rating and use it in our studio if they create an update with notes that move slower across the screen and make a staff with larger notes. That would make this an awesome app for students of all ages. Cheryl W.

Played on iPad 1 which is not as sophisticated as later versions of iPads but we are really learning to read those notes, which is the whole jest of this game. No music background, just a novice learning to read musical notes. Good clean learning.
