Community Insight:

We really enjoy this game. Says a lot for us because we are pretty picky.

As a classic Final Fantasy fan, we really was on the search for a classic rpg style game that didnt try to bleed you dry of every penny you have. This game is just perfect, exactly what the doctor ordered. Its fun, you can play through it multiple times, plenty of treasure to find, and a one time fee to own the game and play it whenever rather than being charged for more features later. The mechanics of the game take a little getting used to, as it isnt a normal turn based fighting style. Its a combination of that and actually moving around. Once you get used to it, then you really can start having fun with it by choosing new classes. We would absolutely recommend any classic rpg fan to buy this game. Its well worth the couple bucks.

To us the Ultimate series was the pinnacle of gaming, so we were skeptical of reviews comparing this game to those. But they were right. It absolutely feels like the early Ultimas. The world is open and huge, with towns and shops, all kinds of wilderness, and plenty of dungeons to crawl. The amount of classes, abilities, spells, items, weapons, quests, NPCs, and enemies is absurd for a small developer. Its as good as any of the old games its modeled on, but better, because of all the quality of life features. You can save at any time, you can control every action your six party members perform, or you can set them to auto battle and just watch. You can set how each character will make decisions in auto combat, or use their defaults. You can control some characters with others on auto. And you can change any of these factors at any time during a fight. You can play however you want to play, and it will work! The game wont let you get lost, either. Whatever you might forget how to do, the game will unobtrusively coach or remind you. What small developer cares enough about its players to program in stuff like that? This one does. We do have a couple of quibbles. Sometimes you can run around a little TOO long before finding something you can interact with. The dungeons tend to be labyrinthine with few loops and no minimap, so it can be tedious to get back out of them. There is a map, a good one! But it cant be on screen while youre moving, and toggling back and forth feels like a chore. Also we dont like black fog of war that moves around with you and blocks parts of the screen, even if you turn off the day/night cycle, which if left on makes this even worse. But the pros are literally everything else And the game has a generous range of difficulty settings to make it just the right challenge for you. If like us you miss the old open world dungeon crawlers and feel like none of the modern mobile versions do them justice, your search is over. Download this now, have a great time and support this deserving developer. The world needs more like him, and more games like this.

Well worth the money this is the second unity game we have enjoyed tremendously. Keep it up the old school games are the best.

If you like ultima youll like this.

Super great and fun and awesome game.

We were looking for an 80s style RPG and this hit the mark. Very expansive, will take numerous hours (no idea how many) to complete. Perfect for Ultima and other early 8-bit RPG game fans.

Like must of us we have a deep appreciation of the type of games we grew up with. This game is amazing. At first it seems just as it looks. Another indi RPG. For us it seemed that way. The more we played the more we really started appreciating what the developer has done. Even done to the self help links in character creation. This is a wonderful piece of work. The creator really has a love for this game and it really shows. If you like classic RPG this is a most. Cheers to you.

Great classic old school rpg. Wish there were more like it.

If you like the early computer RPGs, youll love this.

We play it everyday. Im an old school final fantasy fan and Ultima fan. This game is both. We really really really wish there was a fourth chapter an more summons and more access to locked areas! This game still has so much potential.

100% worth the learning curve. An essential game if you loved the Ultima series and the many Angband variants.

The randomization makes the replay value of this game a 10/10. It is challenging. Clearly a labor of love. The creator has an amazing site with updates, blog posts it feels so real and personal. A really special game. Oh, also, the lichs scroll sent us here.

This game is a hidden gem. Totally worth the money and you can tell how much love went into making it.

A little overwhelming at first, but once you have your feet under you its fantastic.

One of the best game apps there has ever been. Surprisingly deep and interesting gameplay.

The game is just pure enjoyment, just like the old D&D days. There is a lot of creativity and playability within this game that has made us want to replay the whole game again with a new party build. That speaks volumes.a real Must Play Game.

We got the lite version and fell in love with that. We ended up buying the full version and we don't regret it. Also, we don't normally go out of our way to give video game reviews (this is our first) so that should say something.

This game has a lot of love put into it, and you can tell the developer put a lot of effort. For the amount of replayability, this game is a bargain. It isnt graphically the most advanced, and there are huge spikes in combat difficulty at certain parts that will catch you off guard, but it is worth it. You can save scum to try and get the best loot. You can choose to grind and grind to raise skills / spells (will take short of forever for skills that are usable only a few times a day). Or you can spend your talent points on them to get a quick boost to your combat power at the expense of saving points to boost your stats or learning new skills / spells (need to find trainers or spell books). There is a LOT of functions that you can do. Combat is probably the weakest point (why can a monk only use a cestus but not knuckles?). Would be nice to put talents into HP and SP as well if desired. Would be nice to have obstacles in combat. Seeing projected turn order easily would also be nice. Overall a solid B+, and amazing that just one person put it together.

It's ok. If you like a lot of failure and grinding then this might be for you. Seems most people like it for the nostalgia factor.

Not much story. Lots of fights.

A fantastic title. Worth it 1000% for anyone whos remotely interested in role play. The sheer amount of possibilities in characterization and settings alone are worth it, let alone the gameplay itself and its vast land full of quests we have yet to complete despite our hours of playtime. What a gem.

This is one of our all time Favorite games. If you grew up on Ultima by Richard Garriot then this is the game for you. The replay value is high and the characters are fun to tweak and mix up. You can play at your own speed. We cannot think of a game we've spent more hours playing than this one.

Still playing this game years after getting it.

Great game! Totally worth your money.

The most fun Ive had in a long time, even more than other graphics heavy, high costing games. Lots of replay value too.

Im testing if this gives us good karma in the game.

Bought this game to keep occupied during COVID. Needed an RPG fix and the reviews were good. What a pleasant surprise. The creator of this game is so intent on making a quality game with help built right in if you desire. The gameplay is intuitive but not easy. You may have to grind a bit to take out the bigger baddies, but super satisfying. We dont often pay for games, but this one has easily paid for itself already. Keep up the great work, and Ill keep buying. Easy 5 stars.

To be able to just sit down and do a little exploring in an fun and enjoyable system is worth so much more than reasonable cost of this game. We are a fan of the genre and we look forward to the proposed expansions. We love supporting small artists. With our and our friends free time dwindling by the year our tabletop gaming is getting harder to schedule (dont get us wrong, we still game twice a month, we arent animals). This lets us get some adventuring in on our own time.

Please, this man. The man developing this game has poured his heart and soul into creating a fully featured experience without any extra IAP. He quit his job for this! We're not sure if that's still the case now but he tried and that's what matters. Anyways. This game is absolutely amazing for anyone that enjoyed games like the older Ultima titles. Amazing new update, amazing game.

Has a very classic feeling…akin to some of the first RPGs. Great depth and world sizewhich, when combined with the freedom to do as you please, creates a very satisfying game experience. There are elements of Ultima, Might and Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, and Diablo… If you enjoy of those games, this is a game for you.

Old school, top down, turn based, character development game. We love it!! Fun to play for 15 minutes or hours. Ive had the game for a few years now-we enjoy rediscovering the game with a new set of characters. In addition, the developer works at setting new challenges. Excellent game.

First time doing a review. Love this game! Extremely high replay value! Strategist dream! Some puzzles are hard so those 1/5 stars are people that give up easy. Easy mode for casuals players. Great community on FB. Crazy party settings after beating the game once.

We really enjoy this game. Its fun and addicting. Some of dialogue in the game makes us chuckle. Buy it, its worth it. The game play reminds us of the good games when we were we kid. Being an old fart now means its hard to find games that hold our wandering attention, but now Im like wandering with all attention to our next in game jam session So yeah, 5 bucks is totally worth it.

This game is ridiculously fun, with tons of replay value. Half the fun is the mountains of loot you can find, and the other half is leveling up your characters.

This game has a great old school dnd feel to it, like the kind of games we used to play in the 90s as a kid. Lots of depth and complexity to the games battle mechanics. We were ignoring the auto battle feature at first but soon realized that doing everything manually is tedious and that the auto behaviors are programmable so you can auto and still have your party fight intelligently – its fun to watch them go at it and only have to pause and intervene in key moments. The icons are a little small but if you play on iPad its not noticeable. Id say its definitely worth the price – we have Icewind Dale on our mobile but usually prefer to play this.

This game would be so much better if it didnt always close and reload when you leave the app or switch to a different app. As it is it annoys us so much we stopped playing.

Magnificent. Tons of thought put into this. Old school and rewarding. Well done, folks.

Well done game like we used to play on Commodore 64 but better. Amazing content.

Amazing game! It has been crashing at random times and Ive been losing progress. Will rate 5 once fixed.

Excellent game! We would give it many more stars! Its not over done but its HUGE! We played the lite version of the game, running quite a few parties to their limit and was uneasy to spend the $ on this full version. We have NEVER purchased a app game before.. Well we liked the lite version and we took the chance. BEST DECISION IVE EVER MADE! THIS GAME IS AWESOME! Now Im an old guy so that says something.. We RECOMMEND THIS GAME VERY MUCH! Ive played it for hours and still look forward to playing it! If you like these kind of games you will NOT be disappointed with this game, you will be very happy! Thank you to the devs, Im on our way to look into the FB pages to get more involved with the people of this game.

Love it best since playing Moria on the VAX in college.

What a fun game! Thank you so much for making this! Anyone who has EVER gone to gog.com to download any of the old SSI games, download this immediately! Check out the gameplay videos on YouTube if you have questions. Really fun old school experience. Thanks again for making this labor of love. Your love of old school games really shows.

Please adjust the sides of the screen in various menus so we dont have to constantly flip our phone to read things on either edge of the screen under the notch.

For what the devs had to work with time restraints and money restraints they got the most bang for there buck heres hoping more people buy the game.

This game has a good story, it is involving, complex, long, and the right amount of difficulty.

It was hard to believe the reviews but this is exactly what we were looking for too. Outstanding depth and customization options.

What this game lacks in graphical effects and textures it clearly makes up for in shear depth and replay ability. Its rough, it wont hold your hand, but there are difficulty settings and tons of other things you have control over that you dont with other RPGs. So, yes, this game is truly great.

This game has all the nostalgia of an 8bit RPG with a fun tactical combat system & a variety of class & play styles. You can sink hours into this game & it will definitely be worth a replay once Im finished. Its well worth the price & you get he whole package no DLC or paid addons. Its full featured & fun! We cant wait for more.

Check other reviews if you want something about the game – other than we recommend you check it out on PC as well. The guy (we're pretty sure it's just one dude too) who makes this offers new content in free updates all the time. It's on the level of the people that made Shovel Knight, or like CDProjekt Red. New classes, a whole new chapter, new weapon types. The list goes on. Maybe it's not the absolute best, most polished game out there, but it's clear the developer poured his heart and soul into the game, and it shows. Plus, it's getting better all the time. Top tier game, we play it on PC but bought it on mobile again just to support the dude. Great work, if only more of the games industry were like you.
