Boxville is a Puzzle/Adventure/Entertainment game from Ohhio s.r.o., first launched in 5th January 2023.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 695+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Boxville Stand Out
Boxville is 2-in-1: an animated film and a puzzle game.
Boxville is an adventure puzzle game about speechless cans living in the city of boxes and drawing doodles on cardboards to tell the stories.
Boxville is good for playing alone to dive into the atmosphere and challenge your brain with sophisticated logic puzzles and riddles, or playing with a friend or family to share unique audio-visual experiences and solve the puzzles together.
Design
The core idea of the game is that it’s not just a game – but also an animated film that you can watch and play at the same time.
We designed Boxville’s gameplay with the purpose of taking away your anxiety and stress. You can explore and observe the world without rushing and pressure.
The game is full of environmental quests and logical puzzles that we have carefully picked from among hundreds of options.
Story
Boxville is a city of boxes populated with old cans. They live quiet and happy lives with their everyday routines and habits. But one day, unexplained earthquakes disturbed their idyll…
Blue Can (our hero) lost his best friend because of that. He started his search but it is not so easy to move through the city after earthquakes. He has to find a way to move forward, return the friend back home and discover the real reason for all those earthquakes. There are many adventures, new friends and it’s not only friends that are waiting for him on the way.
He has to be curious, inventive, careful, and to help others, to reach his goal.
What you can expect to see and hear in Boxville:
- Hand-drawn graphics — all backgrounds and characters are carefully drawn by our artists.
- Every animation and sound is created especially for each interaction.
- Unique music track was created for every scene to accomplish the atmosphere of the game.
- Tens of logical puzzles and mini-games are tightly incorporated into the story of the game.
- There are no words in the game — all characters communicate via cartoony speechbubbles.
This Puzzle game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
Enjoyable little puzzle game. We loved the art and animation. Could figure it out without needing to look stuff up which was nice. Perfect balance of easy and challenging. Such a creative concept.
Its not often we come across such a rare and rewarding gem. The beautiful and unique art pulled us in where the enduring story line along with the inviting design, creative layout and challenging puzzles captivated us fully. We were enthralled! Cant wait to try other experiences by this amazing artistically talented team. Loved it.
Well written wordless story filled with relaxing, well made music with a positive story. Was the perfect game to play with our 5 year old. Slava Ukraine from a Russian American. Buying Boxville 2.
A walk-through had to help us through this game and the game is very good. The artwork is amazing. The story is amazing and we like the artwork. We just said that and the character designs are amazing.
Amazing game ! Great job to the creators we swear! Makes our head think like crazy love it.
This is one of the top moblie games Ive played in years! The puzzles are perfectly difficult, and the atmosphere is so precious! We were in love start to finish.
Love this game! Story line wonderful, puzzles great and graphics awesome.
Fun little game, full of puzzles that can be a bit tricky at times! We just wish it was longer ;-).
Some puzzles can be tricky at times, but other than that, its great! Get boxville 2 done as fast as you can! (Get it? Can?).
Oh our goodness. This game is an absolute masterpiece! Its beautiful, relaxing, and the character your playing is a sweet character and amazing friend, the games graphics are just perfect, and amazing! We love this game, the art is just so perfect, and the gameplay is so good!! The puzzles are challenging and fun, and relaxing. Seeing our little soda can character smile just warms our heart, and his neighbours are kind and helpful!! Overall, this is an amazing game, and we really recommend buying. We feel really sorry for the dog though and we miss it already ~ ItzjustOceanthecatlover.
Love the ending the dog was super cute.
This is our favorite game now. Pls make another one.
We find this perfectly adorable. Completing missions at relaxing pace and putting the clues together was exactly what we needed to stimulate our brain while taking our mind off all the horrible things in the world.
Amazing graphics, amazing puzzles, challenging at times, but very well done. Fun and worth every cent. Thank you guys.
Love the game. Three wheels is too hard for us. There is a bug for the basket on the dryer. After using it, if you get on top of the dryer, another basket will appear and drop on the ground. It doesnt affect the gameplay though. Please make more games like this. Thank you all.
An endearing game, albeit a bit brief! Fun and thoughtful puzzles with a simple storyline. Kudos to the devs for hearing criticism and squashing bugs, while improving gameplay! Look forward to more games from this studio.
Some parts had to consult walkthrough but we enjoyed the game fully to the ending. Hints would have been nice in-game and some to allow skip puzzles.
This was super cute and fairly easy to understand. A bit challenging. But we were super surprised when it was just suddenly over. We think we finished it in just a couple hours. It was fun but definitely short. Wish it was longer.
Now that this game works with Apple Pencil, we could play it and we really like it! Original artwork and challenges. One of the few good point and click adventures for iOS. Too bad there is no skip or restart option for tedious puzzles.
Loved the feel but could of definitely lasted longer finished in less than two hours.
This game has so much going for it! Its beautiful, charming, adorable, delightful, has endearing characters, an engaging story, and more! But theres a tedium factor that grows as we play for one thing theres no run mode to get the blue can from one place to another, and often you have to go from scene to scene to complete an action, and its sloooow going. Also the inventory button disappears when certain things are happening and you have to wait for it to come back to try an idea. More slow going. Theres a lot of trial and error, and this plus the slowness makes for so much waiting and tedium. Plus there are either none or very vague instructions on many of the mini games and it was impossible for us to know what was expected without a walkthrough (thank goodness for the people who post online walkthroughs!). For instance, on the tower game – we thought the instructions were to reproduce with the red pieces the diagrams on the little poster that was shown. But no, it was something entirely different. In the fuse box game we were completely stumped on what was required and the game doesnt help you by letting you know when something is correct, and we didnt understand the solution even after seeing it in the walkthrough. Etc, etc, etc. Its not fun being stuck over and over and having everything take so long. Without the walkthrough Id be just about at our breaking point and on the verge of deleting. The walkthrough makes it possible for us to continue. Oh, and there are no hints. So three stars because the game deserves recognition for what it does offer, but its just not a five star game. Such a good start but needs real improvement so that gameplay is more pleasurable.
It was pretty short but was an ok game.
Like other people have said, the inventory items are so small we dont even notice them at first. Otherwise this game is fine. Not very original, but fine. What finally got us to give up on the game was the spinning disc puzzle. Seems simple enough, and it is, if you could get the discs to actually touch each other. After trying forever to get our second disc touching and therefore spinning, we just gave up. Maybe if we were playing on a tablet instead of our phone it would be easier, but Im not. It was impossible and we just ended up deleting the game.
The game started off cute enough aside from the backgrounds (albeit beautiful) being huge and detailed and every item being the size of an actual needle hole. Before we could solve even the first task, we somehow practically soft locked ourselves by getting to and pushing down the fridge immediately after we started. We had no idea this was the case as we walked back and forth between the fish guy, couch guy and broom guy and garden lady. This blocked the water for the plants and was just so confused. Some of the puzzles were hard but intuitive, others easy and some just straight up making us play another game like sudoku, minus 4 pieces that we spent tons of time looking for, connect four, circuit wire puzzle, gear puzzle and the awful shop guy puzzle you where you had to get 10 right or you start over but you can't see what the heck the tiny symbols are. Just felt like a cheap way to extend an already short game. Our biggest complaint though is the clunky movement. The backgrounds seem so vast yet you're so limited where you can walk, if the characters will even walk where you tell it without talking to someone or going up an elevator. Perhaps it's best played on an iPad if you don't mind playing a bunch of existing mini puzzles.
Played the first scene in the game and left it to do other things. Next day tapped the icon and it got stuck and wouldnt open.
The puzzle with nine individual answers made us call it quits. We always got the first eight answers right, but never the ninth. We were so fed up with the continual dissatisfaction that we deleted the game. Thank god.
The artwork was beautiful and the puzzles were decent but the next thing to do was not intuitive at all. Often times, it made no sense what you were supposed to do with an object. Use the red poker chip at the casino? No. The washing machine. What.
We are a huge fan of point click inventory puzzle games. However this one has dull characters, annoying controls (tiny objects plus using them brings up control center). On top of all, somehow our game history is erased and game starts from the very beginning. We wish we tried the free version before buying.
A very very nice game. Hope this developer will continue to come up with these types of games. Clean, no killing, no sex, no violence. Just a great game with a few puzzles here and there. Thanks.
This game was a joy to play. We were having a rough day and looking for something to change our mood. This game was charming, fun, the puzzles were challenging but not impossible. Wish it were longer but honestly if it was we would have never slept. Please make more like it.
Boxvilles is truly such a lovely experience from the art style to the music honestly a very relaxing and lovely time playing.
The graphics for inventory items are so small we cant see them under our finger as we drag them onto the scene to use. Its very hard to see when the item activates this way. It would be much easier to see if we could use a stylus (like our Apple Pencil) instead of our finger. Im on an iPad 11 Pro. That said, we love the artwork, the story, the soundtrack, and the puzzles so far. Edit: we found an old rubber tip stylus and solved our fat finger problem. This game is delightful. We hope you are safe, and we hope you make more.
This game is great! The puzzles are fun without being frustratingly hard, the artwork is beautiful, and the story is absolutely adorable. We thoroughly enjoyed playing Boxville.
We really enjoyed playing this fun game. The puzzles are not repetitive. The whole experience was very enjoyable.
Fun way to get away from the every pressured world. Thank you.
We only wish this game couldve gone on longer. Its our favorite game in a couple years, and we cant wait to see what this developer does next. This game is really reminiscent of the Amanita Design games, if you like that style. The art is fantastic and puzzles are great. We were determined not to cheat and look at a walk-through, and we didnt. We made it all the way through. Some of the puzzles are very challenging. But they are all logical, and you will not be aggravated with any of them when you discover the solutions, unlike some games. We hope to see more.
We absolutely LOVE this game. We feel like its in the same category as Lumino City and the Cotton Games. Please make more.
What a great game! Has a little bit of a machinarium look and play to it. It was pretty challenging but not too hard.. Our only complaint was that it was short.. It was definitely worth playing but we wish there was more because it was that good! Definitely recommend.
We love point and click adventure games like this and Im always excited to see a new one releasedwhich, unfortunately, rarely happens anymore. We just started playing this game and it reminds us a lot of Cotton games with a bit of Amanita mixed in – a great combination! The graphics and audio are absolutely amazing. This is the type of game that you really should take your time, explore everything and appreciate all the little details. We highly recommend going to the developer website and reading the premise of the game before you start. It helped us understand what the game was about and we wouldnt have gotten the earthquake part if we hadnt done that. We also learned that the developers are in Ukraine and Im happy to support them. This is a high quality game and worth every penny, but we do have a few suggestions for the developers. A hint feature would be nice because Ive already had to resort to the YouTube walkthrough and its a pain to find the one thing you need help with in an hour long video. The main character needs to walk faster because there is a fair amount of walking/waiting in the game. And lastly, we wish the inventory items were either larger or labeled with what they are. Some of the items are too small and difficult to identify. Ive had to use the walkthrough just because we had no idea what an item was. Overall, these things are minor and Im still able to enjoy the game.
We love being a little can on a mission, and for the most part enjoy the lack of words. But after stepping away and losing progress on a couple of puzzles because the autosave wasnt keeping up, we wanted to save the game manually. We followed symbols for what looked like saving, but instead accidentally deleted our progress up to that point. Save people the frustration and provide rudimentary labels in the settings please! We were far enough in that we dont want to start over.
This was a very sweet game, in the old-fashioned sense of the word. We enjoyed the characters, there were some good puzzles, and only had to use a walk-through once. Very chill, and lovely images.
We purchased this game not too long ago as we are one who very much enjoys puzzle games. Especially ones like these where its visually pleasing. It very much reminds us of Machinarium. The main inconvenience we are experiencing however is whenever we touch the screen, regardless on where, the home bar appears. Then eventually fades away. This occurs constantly and wont stop no matter what we do. With it appearing and disappearing all the time is constantly off putting that it ruins the experience for us.
This was challenging in all the right ways. Only complaintTOO SHORT! Definitely a $2.99 length game.
We really enjoy this game. We find is difficult to play on iPhone given the small screen. We downloaded to our iPad and it started again at the beginning. Using same Game Center id and am recognized. Game Center setting on 2nd device has a record log of our progress on our first device, but game doesnt open at that point. Im not sure if the app itself does not permit this, but we dont have the same issue with other Game Center games. Very frustrating.
This game feels a bit derivative, but if it is, its very well executed. We enjoyed it. Our only complaint is that the washing machine coin puzzle interface is just too obscure. We dont see how one could figure that out except by luck and thrashing about.
We could easily have given the game a 5 star if it werent for so many technical issues. An example, putting the token in the dryer, most recent is the ball puzzle. Its really frustrating. We have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, shut off to many times to count. Disappointing.
Its cute, but not much fun after you cant do anything but theres nowhere to look to see if Im missing something.
We have to say we were surprised by the lack of support for the pencil especially since the game is supported on our iPad. There are several puzzles that are more difficult because your finger is in the way. Otherwise its a pleasant game.
Its super short and too linear to be fun. Sure, the game looks cute but its just too short, too easy and kind of annoying to handle. Play 157 instead.
Maybe some words would be helpful? Thought we were saving our game we were deleting the save we had and restarting it. So not gonna play it now till that frustration wears off.
